Breakfast pastries

Very conveniently located just across the street from St. Mary's hospital. Great selection of breakfast pastries, doughnuts and quiches. Friendly staff.

Hollow inside both layers.

Macarons are bite sized, bright cookies made with meringue, sugar, and almond flour and have a slightly crunchy exterior with a soft filling, typically made of a ganache, buttercream, or jam. Not at this bakery. I've tried their version 3 different times and each time the cookie shatters at first bite and is hollow in the middle of each cookie layer. It's so disappointing especially at the price points.

Ok so going to be honest...the hours arent my favorite but because i got up early all the pastries were fresh and warm and yummy. First of all the people are super friendly.. the shop is cute and clean. No cupcakes but after dazzled by sugary yummy i forgot to ask. The croissants are buttery and flakey.. donuts are amazing. But my favorite are these filled pastries [cant remember the name].. they are filled with Nutella or other stuff. Flaky, sweet and oh so good!!! Worth getting up early.. and they have coffee

The weekly specials! Know it like a local.

Definitely a brunch spot that many people visit morning/lunchtime. We ordered the Hollandberry Burger and swapped the fries for onion rings (+$2), and also got the Bacon Smoked Gouda Burger with regular fries. Both burgers were ordered medium rare, but the Smoked Gouda Burger came out closer to medium/well done, making it a bit dry. The service was a letdown. Water is served in small mason jars, and ours was never refilled until we requested water after being there for an hour. We also requested sauce. Both never arrived until our table asked for it a second time which took about 10 minutes later to get to us. To top it off, we were handed to go boxes while we were still eating. We realized a table nearby asked for boxes and had been waiting for it to leave. The experience felt a little disorganized. Would I come back? Maybe, but I'd probably skip the burgers and try one of the pannekoeken instead if I'm feeling something sweet, since that's what Hollandberry is really known for.

The raised donuts are…read moreunfortunately not vegan (I have an egg allergy, so I'm always on the lookout for vegan baked goods), but the cake donuts are, and they had a fun lineup of flavors when my husband and I visited. One thing to note is that the address for Drift Dough isn't the address for Old Abe's Coffee, and I am not sure if that's an address for the bakery or something, but all signs pointed towards the donut shop being inside Old Abe's, so that's where we went. I got the ube donut (the purple one), and as someone originally from Hawaii, it was really great to see ube flavor is making it out to the Midwest now! The flavor is not super strong in the donut, so if you haven't had ube before, I think this would be a nice, mild introduction. My husband got the raised Tiramisu donut, and while he liked it, it's definitely bigger than the cake donuts and was a bit too much donut and frosting for him, but your mileage may vary (I like to think my stomach has a special compartment just for donuts, because it always seems that way, LOL). We got a nice cold brew with oat milk to wash the donuts down, and we will definitely be back next time we're in town!

I will admit, I don't eat doughnuts often, but when I have the craving, this is my favorite spot. I…read morelove the large variety that, in my experience, are always fresh. You will always feel welcomed here and that you're appreciated as a customer.

What a darling cafe!…read more AMBIANCE The decor and ambiance of this place is worth a stop alone. Pint florals, comfy seating, great light fixtures and little touches. I posted up at one of the tables to take a call and get some work done. It worked well for me for an afternoon. SERVICE Counter service was helpful and kind - not the quickest to prepare the drinks and items but I had time! FOOD/DRINK I got a matcha latte and a cheesecake here! The prices were pretty high, but I enjoyed both items. The matcha wasn't very hot, but still tasted great. Such a cute spot to meet friends or get a change of scenery in Rochester!

These are a few things I tried: - pistachio cheesecake - highly recommend, pistachio flavor shines through - olive oil cake - not flavorful, dry, personally do not recommend - lemon cheesecake - delicious! Highly recommend - drink: Cinnamon Dolce Latte. This just tasted sweet to me and did not stand out. To be honest, it tasted like most sugary coffee drinks to me. Maybe I'm just not partial to that. Service: they had 2 people working and both were very friendly. Waited about 10 min for my drink. Lovely ambiance in a nicely decorated cafe.
