    Hours!
    Shaun R.

After seeing an ad for Sweet CLE-'bus's grand opening last week, my girlfriend and I were happy to be among the first in line when the business opened. I love a good pierogi, and it's hard to find them fresh (i.e. NOT Mrs. T's in the frozen section of the supermarket). The line was about ten deep when we arrived, though after twenty minutes or so, we noticed that there were at least another twenty people in line outside. Service was a *tad* slow, but that is certainly understandable for the first day (first hour!) of business. They had several varieties available for purchase, all of them costing about $2 or $2.50 each. If that sounds expensive, it's really not, as these pierogi are BIG. Deceptively big. We wound up buying twelve -- four "cheesebombs," four bacon, chive, and cheddar, and four cheddar and onion. When we got home for lunch later, I decided to pan fry them with a small chopped up onion, some minced garlic, and a healthy (or rather, UNhealthy) dollop of butter. I realized just how big they were, and only wound up cooking half of them (about three minutes or so on each side). We'd bought some of their store-made dill-and-garlic sour cream as well, and that was a good accompaniment. Overall, I can imagine it's a place we might return to. The flavors are expected to have some turnover every month, and some of the options that were on the board (but weren't available today) were tantalizing. A sign above the counter makes it clear that the proprietor (Liz) is a home baker at heart, but that's more of a bonus than a bug, in my opinion. Hopefully Sweet CLE-'bus sticks it out and thrives for years to come.

My boyfriend and I went here in its first hour of opening. I'm glad we did because when we left there was a line all around the parking lot. When the pierogis sell out, they're done for the day, so go early! (FYI, the store is hard to find; it's next to an alterations place.) We ordered 12 pierogis - bacon/cheddar, cheddar bomb and cheddar/onion; tho the choices change monthly. They're a big, pillowy bundle of goodness! Best pan fried with butter and onions. Overall, Sweet Cle-'Bus offers a satisfying meal that truly tastes homemade.

Another pierogi place! In Columbus! That's the one big gap in our very diverse and high-quality…read morefood scene. We've always needed more Eastern European food. There have been a few Polish and Russian places over the years, and Hubert's and Pierogi Mountain have stuck around and are local treasures, but there's just not enough. I was very excited when I heard about this place. And it's at the ghost kitchen on Essex, along with a dozen other places, so it's handy for me on the way to work. They have some interesting items in addition to pierogi and kielbasa and sauerkraut. They have pierogi "skillets," which have stuff piled on top of pierogi. It's a good idea, and they look tasty, but I either was not hungry enough or I'm just a purist so I did not get them this time. Not sure if there will be a next time, because their ordering system royally sucks. You order directly from their website, which gives them more money, which is a good thing. But it's still flipdoor or Grubdash or whatever the heck ordering system they use, and it forces you to give them a card to save, which I do not like at all. And then it does not give you a pickup time. You just wait and then they say "prepping," and then "oh, it's ready." Well, I need to have an estimated time, or be able to set a time. I'm not ordering from the parking lot and sitting there for an hour. It took me ten minutes to get there after I got the "ready" text. By the time I got them they were barely warm. They include sour cream and grilled onions, so don't pay extra for them (I didn't realize some were included so I ended up with extra.) I don't know where they get their pierogi from; they don't mention making them in-house so I assume they are outsourced. They're pretty good but also pretty standard. I got the smoked mozz. 5 for $10. Also got kielbasa, cut up and sided with mustard. Also good. Not amazing. It's nice to have more options, but we already have a couple of great ones, and I will not be back till they change this ordering system.

We tried the chicken bacon ranch and the jalapeño popper. They arrived warm and were loaded with toppings. The chicken bacon ranch had just the right combination of chicken and ranch and the same was true for the jalapeños. So tasty! They were 5 pierogies in each skillet and were so filling we even had enough left over for the next day! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Their new hours of operation at the time of this review are from Thursday to Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 11-4. I've wanted to try this place for soo long but Bexley is just out of my way. So when I heard that Red Square Grill became closer to me, I just had to try it! I brought my mom along to explain the dishes to me and what's good (short answer; everything). The lady that took our order is very nice and very helpful with understanding the menu. She speaks both Russian and English, so communication was not an issue. There's even an area to sit behind the food truck if you wanted to hang out there, which is what we did. I don't need the judgement, but I had a lot (it's been over 20 years since I've had these dishes) ... I had about 4 Chebureki (crescent shaped deep-fried pastry with meat inside), 2 Samsa (flakey pastry with either beef or lamb), 1 Lagman (think of a hearty soup mixed with light pasta - consists of meat, different vegetables, and noodles, VERY filling). I ate the most I've had in my life. Everything tasted delicious and nostalgic. It's not pricey at all and very worth it. With Columbus not having many Russian & Uzbek restaurants, it really makes me happy that this food truck exists and bringing a bit of diversity to Columbus. This is such a great opportunity to try a new cuisine and be exposed to a new culture that's really hard to come by otherwise. I really hope my review somewhat helps even one person not familiar with the food truck try it out. I will be back!

Happy Hour specials: $4 Hefe Weizen(wheat beer), $5 Fries with Bier Gravy, Lager battered Chicken Tenders and Garlic pretzel bites. I'm in! Everything came out in reasonable time and I'm not going to describe every bite, but I was in heaven. The Bier gravy fries were special. Garlic Pretzel bites were crazy good. Chicken tenders were seasoned perfectly and the sauces (honey mustard and some sorta bourbon bbq) had me cross dippin and dunkin. I basically ordered dive bar food items, but it was the best I've had especially for $5 each. Washing it down with a wheat beer just kicked it over the fence. I even left room for dessert which I never do. Boston Cream Puff. OMG. The custard was lighter than most but I'm glad it was. It didn't last 2 minutes.
