We stopped by the North Market during a road trip. The owner of the stall was friendly, but I think overall the food was a bit underwhelming. ($13 for pierogie and chicken). The pierogie was huge -- the filling was poofy and pretty heavy and greasy. The chicken skin was flavorful.

Polish food is not something I've had too much exposure to over the years. That's not to say I don't enjoy it, but I don't come across it very often wherever I am and I find it to be too heavy so I make sure I have room for it. This particular vendor offered a sandwich made with chicken cutlets topped with pickles, tomatoes, mustard and mayo. For whatever reason I don't seem to have the picture I took of the sandwich so I do apologize for that. I will say that the sandwich was quite delicious and the chicken was not dry like I would expect from a lot of places. But the entire thing was too thick for me to eat with my hands without it falling apart and making a mess. Regardless it was a good meal and really filled me up.

Smashing good food. $13 for a perogie and stuffed cabbage with polish red sauce that's more like a stew. Owner is game on to talk stories. Love it.

We were on a mission to try a bunch of different foods and the Polish spot was calling our name. We opted for the meiloni, pierogi, and kielbasa stew that comes with it. Everything was good, but the kielbasa was my favorite item. I thought I would like the meiloni more based on the description, but it was very dense... still not bad though. The portions were very venerous for the price so you're getting a good deal.

I was overwhelmed by the kindness of the lady proprietor but underwhelmed by the food. She very kindly and patiently walked us through the various a la carte options on the menu and even threw in a extra pierogi that had started to split for free. We took our food to go and really couldn't identify a standout item between the pierogis, cabbage rolls, kielbasa sandwich, mielone and the regular or spicy stews (both of which are free with a meat purchase). Maybe the spicy stew which a had a sweet kick as well... The mielone is cheddar cheese wrapped in minced chicken with sauerkraut and deep fried. I should love this! But, the fried cube was tough to cut into and a little overdone in sections. There wasn't as much *pop* in the flavor department either as I would have expected from a combination of such tasty ingredients. A word to the wise, they prefer cash and access a fee for card transactions under $5. Not a problem; just an FYI.

I gotta say, I never really seek out Polish food. Perhaps it's because we don't have too much of it where I'm from, but when we smelled this place as we made a lap around the market, we had to stop by. We decided to pick up a couple of the pierogis, and man, I was impressed! I had had pierogis before, but in a smaller size, so it was so delightful biting into these pierogis. The filling was super flavorful, and the dough was tender. Service was great - the woman working there helped explain the options they had. If you haven't been to this market before, there is limited paid (cheap) street parking right outside - we went in the afternoon during a slow time so it was easy for us to find a spot. In terms of seating, there's places to sit and eat if you keep walking left of Hubert's. Hope to be back next time I'm in Columbus!

Best pierogi I've had in a long time! They had an amazing selection of polish goodies but I only tried a pierogi. The girl that helped me was super helpful and nice.

This vendor has been a long-time staple of the North Market and I've passed it many times without eating there, which is a shame because I am part Polish! I finally stopped in recently and was not disappointed. I tried the pierogis, a delicious chicken ball with a chunk of cheddar cheese in the middle, and the complimentary stew that was offered with it. The pierogis were huge and tasty and totally stuffed with potatoes. They're definitely super greasy but really delicious. The stew was a great dipper for both the pierogies and the chicken ball. I noticed they have giant pickles also which I didn't try but I'm a pickle girl so I'll definitely be back for one of those very soon. Don't sleep on Hubert's!

In town visiting and wanted to check the market out and get some different foods. Tried the meiloni (chicken ball), pierogi, and kielbasa all with the mild stew. The pierogi was quite thick and the filling was delicious. The chicken ball wasn't my favorite and was a bit dry. The kielbasa was good but pretty mild in flavor. The mild stew was delicious and I could have eaten just a bowl of that with a pierogi and been satisfied. Overall yummy food and quite affordable.

3.5. The kielbasa was decent. The pierogies were good. My cabbage roll was a little burned. I opted for the spicy cabbage roll and it was decent. The vegetables in the red sauce was weird. Prices were okay.

Staff was really friendly and helpful when choosing items. Prices were very reasonable. I ordered the pierogis and mielones (chicken balls) and it came with a side dish. I didn't care for the side dish but the rest of the food was very palatable. Favorite was the chicken ball.

This is the Polish food stall in North Market, and we tried the combo of the pierogi and cabbage roll. The cabbage roll is gigantic and filled with beef and rice, with spices, and topped with a tomato sauce complimentary. It is the standard cabbage roll but with a loooot of stuffing. The pierogi is fairly creamy and cheesy, and if you wish to do a la carte, it's only $2 but it is very heavy.

There have been a few Polish and Russian places over the years, and Hubert's and Pierogi Mountain have stuck around and are local treasures, but there's just not enough. I was very excited when I heard about this place. And it's at the ghost kitchen on Essex, along with a dozen other places, so it's handy for me on the way to work. They have some interesting items in addition to pierogi and kielbasa and sauerkraut. They have pierogi "skillets," which have stuff piled on top of pierogi. It's a good idea, and they look tasty, but I either was not hungry enough or I'm just a purist so I did not get them this time. Not sure if there will be a next time, because their ordering system royally sucks. You order directly from their website, which gives them more money, which is a good thing. But it's still flipdoor or Grubdash or whatever the heck ordering system they use, and it forces you to give them a card to save, which I do not like at all. And then it does not give you a pickup time. You just wait and then they say "prepping," and then "oh, it's ready." Well, I need to have an estimated time, or be able to set a time. I'm not ordering from the parking lot and sitting there for an hour. It took me ten minutes to get there after I got the "ready" text. By the time I got them they were barely warm. They include sour cream and grilled onions, so don't pay extra for them (I didn't realize some were included so I ended up with extra.) I don't know where they get their pierogi from; they don't mention making them in-house so I assume they are outsourced. They're pretty good but also pretty standard. I got the smoked mozz. 5 for $10. Also got kielbasa, cut up and sided with mustard. Also good. Not amazing. It's nice to have more options, but we already have a couple of great ones, and I will not be back till they change this ordering system.

So when I heard that Red Square Grill became closer to me, I just had to try it! I brought my mom along to explain the dishes to me and what's good (short answer; everything). The lady that took our order is very nice and very helpful with understanding the menu. She speaks both Russian and English, so communication was not an issue. There's even an area to sit behind the food truck if you wanted to hang out there, which is what we did. I don't need the judgement, but I had a lot (it's been over 20 years since I've had these dishes) ... I had about 4 Chebureki (crescent shaped deep-fried pastry with meat inside), 2 Samsa (flakey pastry with either beef or lamb), 1 Lagman (think of a hearty soup mixed with light pasta - consists of meat, different vegetables, and noodles, VERY filling). I ate the most I've had in my life. Everything tasted delicious and nostalgic. It's not pricey at all and very worth it. With Columbus not having many Russian & Uzbek restaurants, it really makes me happy that this food truck exists and bringing a bit of diversity to Columbus. This is such a great opportunity to try a new cuisine and be exposed to a new culture that's really hard to come by otherwise. I really hope my review somewhat helps even one person not familiar with the food truck try it out. I will be back!
