Thank you so much Victoria for going above and beyond. I called from LA for my BFs mother's…read morebirthday cake. Needed something fast and that would deliver. She took my order over the phone and made it happen! She even text me the receipt. Unfortunately I did not look at the yelp reviews before ordering so I hope the cake is actually good. I will update the review when she gets the cake :)

I ordered a custom wedding cake for my wedding three weeks ago. I paid in advance and the contract…read morestipulated the cake be picked up at 1 PM. My friends called the bakery while en route to pick up the cake and were told the cake would not be ready for pick up until 5 PM!!!! Are you kidding me? My wedding was at 4 PM. After some back and forth, they told the bakery to call them when the cake was ready for pick up and this was just one of their errands to finalize preparations for the ceremony. They were finally able to pick up the cake around 230 and they made it back just in time for the ceremony, of which they played a part. The cake was not completely done and had to be refrigerated as it was not quite set. This fiasco immensely added to the stress for both myself and my friends who were assisting me and is a negative memory in an otherwise good day. I had ordered a retirement cake with them once before and it too was not ready for pick up...but they ended up delivering to the ceremony in time. I had thought the first time was a simple mistake, but after this last time...nah..I'm done with this shop, they merely add stress to already stressful, time-bound events. Not worth the increase in blood pressure. My two tiered cake cost $310.00...I should not have paid in advance, lesson learned.

I actually went to the location in Cameron NC (just a few doors down from The Coffee Scene and…read moreDunkin Donuts) but I guess it's too new to be listed here. It's really cute inside, there was upbeat music playing, and the cupcakes all looked delicious! They had a deal where you buy 5 and get 1 free so we went with red velvet, birthday cake, wedding cake, strawberry cheesecake, and two different Oreo flavors. Oh. My. Goodness! My daughter ate the entire birthday cake cupcake so I didn't get to try it, but I did try all the others. (Don't judge!) Red velvet is always my go-to at any bakery and this one was perfect. Moist and just the right amount of frosting. I cannot remember the different names of the Oreo ones but one had more chocolate than the other. I think the one with the piece of a cookies and cream candy bar, white filling, and less chocolate on top was better. The other two were also amazing. I highly recommend them!

I had to ask for recommendation before she said anything. (There was no one else in the store at that time). Definitely hoping this is a one off, because the cupcakes were actually good. They are thick, but not dry and so flavorful. I could definitely see myself eating it even without the icing, but the icing was not too sweet and overall really good. For reference I had caramel macchiato and triple chocolate.

We have never been to a restaurant that serves you your breakfast cafeteria style! I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing if a breakfast joint does it like that. Our first impression when walking into Cakes, Pastries, & More is that there is no character to the restaurant. It's just a spacious square. We both got breakfast plates. The eggs were their best item, but was still not very good. The hash brows had no flavor and were undercooked (if you can imagine that) and bacon tasted like it had been sitting out for a day. The "sweet" tea is not sweet. The restrooms are nasty, but the rest of the restaurant is clean. Why just the restrooms? Both the solid customer service and the cleanliness of the rest of the restaurant are about best things going for this joint.

Usually I get 3 creme, 3 chocolate, and then a variety with the other six. A dozen runs just about $17. Get them first thing in the morning when they are hot and fresh. It's located in a sketchy looking shopping center and you park and enter around the side, not the front. They have a secondary restaurant inside with a bunch of tables and a couple of restrooms. Sometimes the lines here can be super long, I recommend calling your order in ahead. This way you can skip the line and just pick up your order. They have a ton of different flavors, lemon, apple, strawberry, raspberry...all worth trying!! A dozen is good for 2 people ;-). They will keep a couple days if you don't eat them all the first day. My only complaint is that I wish they were open Sundays. Usually I pick them up when I'm passing through on a Friday or Saturday morning headed out of town. I'd love to be able to pickup a dozen on the way home too!
