The pub was a really cozy place--comfortable and relaxed but also with a happening feeling. I hung out near the downstairs bar where I could enjoy the live band and still talk without shouting. It was a good spot for dancing and chatting with a group. The outdoor 'beer garden' decks looked amazing but in early April the weather wasn't quite right for it. Our entire group tried to move out there but unfortunately, all the space heaters were turned off. Minus one star for the 20 minutes I suffered in the cold trying to enjoy my drink before the bartender told us they were all broken. After warming up again inside, everything went smoothly. Good gin + tonics too. All in all a good night and a cool vibe. I'd go back for sure.

There is a church yard and ruin across the street that caught my eye first. I wanted to stop to take photos. As Templar's Inn parking lot is just across the street it made a great stopping spot and while we were there, we thought 'why not?' and popped in for lunch. Turned out to be a very good idea. It was a late lunch time and still a good number of people were in the bar or restaurant and continued to come and go during our visit. Most were eating lunch, a few were sharing a pot of tea or enjoying a pint. We sat ourselves in the bar area after a pleasant staff member spotted us and invited us to sit where we like. He brought over menus and asked if we knew what we would like to drink. I ordered a pot of tea (my usual) and my SO ordered a pint (his usual). We were given plenty of time to view the menu. Our beves arrived and we were not rushed to make a decision on food, but left to leisurely make our decision. I love that about restaurants 'across the pond.' The menu has a nice variety of option with a preponderance of seafood items. Fish chowder, scampi, catch of the day, mussles along with sandwiches, burgers, chicken dishes, steak and pork. A full menu and the food here is very well prepared. I went with the catch of the day, Breaded Lemon Sole. Lightly breaded, this fish is flaky and moist. The side salad is loaded with a variety of veg and nicely dressed. The fries tasty. I wish I could come back here for another meal. The tea was the best I've had in Ireland and I love how big the pot is for one person. My SO ordered the Breaded Chicken breast burger which he very much enjoyed, along with his pint. I was too busy eating my delicious fish to notice his chicken; sorry. The bartender/waiter was friendly and kept an eye on us from the bar. There were a few other staff members who also checked in with us so we never felt ignored while also never feeling rushed. None of the staff attempted to start a conversation, but when we initiated, they were all very pleasant and happy for a chat and to find out more about us and answer our questions. The rest rooms are behind the bar and accessible from both the bar area and the dining room. They are modern and clean. Seating in the bar area is varied and comfortable. The dining room is bright and sunny with lots of windows. The parking lot is plenty big. Don't pass this place by! As a matter of fact, add it as a stop on your itinerary if you are in the area. Walking up it's in the middle of the atrium that they have there where they do a lot of different types of shows. There are a few tables outside that you can take a seat out if you want to. We decided to sit inside. It's very pubish inside and just like you would imagine every other restaurant in Ireland. When in Ireland, you were going to have to drink beer and that is definitely what we had. My partner had a gin and tonic service was great. We sat in this cute little off the bar seating it was hidden and very romantic. Sometimes the bartender would pop out of nowhere and surprise you. I ordered the stew which was pleasantly delicious! It was the color of an orange curry and on top was this crusty delicious nutty bread. My dish also came with a side salad and french fries so it was a lot of food for the amount of the price. My partner ordered the burger and the burger was delicious perfectly cooked. Couldn't ask for anything better.
