I had an amazing bowl of seafood chowder with thick, luscious slices of moist, hearty brown bread. It was the only brown bread in eight months that I actually enjoyed so...best in the country? The soup was from the starter menu but it was a full bowl so plenty filling for a meal. Hubs enjoyed his duck leg confit and we shared chips that came with some tangy garlic mayo. The steamed carrot/potato/broccoli wasn't anything special. Best part of the meal by far: dessert. As soon as I saw the menu, I knew I would be ordering the blue cheese brownie with fudge sauce + praline ice cream. I mentioned to the server that I liked blue cheese and she offered to have the chef ADD more cheese to my brownie. Whoa that is very accommodating but I think the normal amount of blue cheese in my dessert will be fine. When it arrived, the brownie was amazing, decadent, fudgy, smooth...if smelly cheese + chocolate is wrong, I dont want to be right. Ended up back at the Seahorse when our friends got to town for drinks. The place is really relaxed and has a nook with tables that was nice for our big group to sit together and chat over pints. The servers were extremely nice, checking in and keeping drinks full. If I am ever back in Tramore, I'll definitely have a meal and a drink at the Seahorse again.

my friend from Australia is over for a few weeks and we went up to crokes for awhile to have a…read moredrink and it was lovely to have a drink in and we all thought this is a really nice pub to come to more often, next minute I went to the toilet with my friend and we went together The manager followed us up to the bathroom and kicked us out of the stall and marched us downstairs to our friends and said "lads this isn't going to work drink up I don't know what ye think this is but two girls going to the bathroom together is not on" we then tried to just respond and she responded with "stop the bullshit treat this as ur own home" acting as if we have done anything we were simply sitting down that's IT. She was so unbelievably rude to us and it disgusts me how people just act towards young people. We will never be back again she was horrible so rude and we were all so polite when we came in she had no reason to act like that towards us.

We thought we'd squeeze one game in. Against our will we came back the day after , again for the kids to play pool and the rude bar man waited until we ordered our drinks to tell us the youngest child couldn't play pool because "the mecca wasn't great" and then gave us a sarcastic apology for it. Would never recommend this place - NEVER. .

We felt that the service, quality of food and albeit strange atmosphere were well worth the trip to Tramore. Tramore is close to Waterford and a wonderful escape from the cities.

Martha was the owner until a few years ago when she passed on at 91- still behind the bar- her spirit might be lingering still. A definite recommend.
