I did not try the food - only came for a pint and some banter. That - I can tell you - was 5 stars…read more I was there on a Friday night which included some lovely live music. Overall a great place to enjoy a pint!

Took a weekend trip to Tramore with hubs. After spending the entire day walking around the little…read morebeach town, the Seahorse Tavern is the only place that seemed to have a decent meal for a fair price. I had an amazing bowl of seafood chowder with thick, luscious slices of moist, hearty brown bread. It was the only brown bread in eight months that I actually enjoyed so...best in the country? The soup was from the starter menu but it was a full bowl so plenty filling for a meal. Hubs enjoyed his duck leg confit and we shared chips that came with some tangy garlic mayo. The steamed carrot/potato/broccoli wasn't anything special. Best part of the meal by far: dessert. As soon as I saw the menu, I knew I would be ordering the blue cheese brownie with fudge sauce + praline ice cream. I mentioned to the server that I liked blue cheese and she offered to have the chef ADD more cheese to my brownie. Whoa that is very accommodating but I think the normal amount of blue cheese in my dessert will be fine. When it arrived, the brownie was amazing, decadent, fudgy, smooth...if smelly cheese + chocolate is wrong, I dont want to be right. Ended up back at the Seahorse when our friends got to town for drinks. The place is really relaxed and has a nook with tables that was nice for our big group to sit together and chat over pints. The servers were extremely nice, checking in and keeping drinks full. If I am ever back in Tramore, I'll definitely have a meal and a drink at the Seahorse again.
