We were sat in this unique room that had zebras on the walls and just a very fun atmosphere. Our table ordered the seafood pie, prawns and crab claws, and a pot of tea. We had a long journey and were famished and food and a hot cup of tea were just what we wanted. Let me say the food was FANTASTIC. My meal was wonderful as was my friend's meal. What lacked was SERVICE. Our waitress took our order and we ordered tea for our beverages. I asked TWICE after ordering for the tea and it never came. She never checked on us to see how our meals were and never brought us the tea. The tables around us who ordered alcoholic beverages got their drinks immediately. Normally I would order a glass of wine with my meal but I was so tired as was just looking forward to a hot cup of tea. My friend had to go up to pay the bill and asked for boxes for our meals as again, our waitress never returned. I would definitely give this place a try for food again but there was no excuse for such poor service.

I ordered the Golden Fried Squid Rings, while my wife had the Sticky Crispy Chicken. The squid was fried perfectly with a light, crispy batter, and a squeeze of lemon with the sweet chili sauce really brought the flavors together. The Sticky Crispy Chicken was equally impressive--crispy chicken tossed in a sweet chili sauce with onions, peppers, green onions, and sesame seeds. The vegetables helped balance the sweetness, creating a great sweet and savory combination. Overall, it was a delicious lunch with well-executed dishes and a beautiful waterfront atmosphere. We'd happily stop here again on another trip through Dungarvan.

Tierney's was the most charming, cozy, and inviting of all of them (one in dublin was a close second in ambiance). What really set this pub apart, however, was the exceptional food. Had the chicken breast with sausage (can't recall the name but it's the most popular one). My wife had the chicken a la ritz. Mine was better, but hers was good since she likes mushrooms. Also had dessert, strawberries pavlova, fantastic. As soon as we walked in we were warmly welcomed by the single bartender/waiter, who already had a fairly full house on a Thursday night. Seated us in back, great cool environment, ripe for conversation. He was quick (most of the pubs seem to operate on one speed, which is probably irish tradition) and gave advice where requested. You can get pints of beer anywhere, but the combination of drink, food, ambience, and service really made our night. We are mid-40s, and the crowd was two groups of younger people and multiple groups of similar age, so while you may find the norm to be older locals, the place has earned a place for younger respectful crowds as well.
