Another satisfying visit to Sweeden Sweets. Actually, our best visit ever. Our grand daughter lives in Superior. She loves candy and so does grandpa - so we always stop at Sweeden Sweets when we're in town. This visit was more special than all the others as there was a very knowledgeable and kind man working the store (the owner?). He was so kind and so informative. This was a super cute candy store! Definitely a kids dream! They even have the trendy freeze dried candy. Which I must say was very good! We had the gummy nerd clusters. If we weren't on a road trip we would have tried the ice cream parlor looks very cool and vintage. The service was good I would have expected very friendly for a candy store, but the young lady that helped us was friendly. They also have a cool make your own pixie stix thing that was awesome! What a fun candy store! I loved the mural outside. Soooo many choices, definitely something for everyone! My favorite thing we bought was the dark sea salt caramel and pb fudge. We also got a variety of popcorn to try, and a chocolate covered brownie and turtle caramel. They have an ice cream parlor inside too. I had a craving for some homemade caramel and candy corn and these was just down the street from where we were staying for the holidays. I'm surprised by the low reviews, this place was huge and offered a large selection of sugary sweets - candy, soda, popcorn, etc. Prices are pretty decent depending on what you select. Believe me, there are so many choices you cannot leave empty handed. Sometimes, at candy stores like this, you are watched like a hawk especially with kids in tow, but the staff here were very friendly and welcoming. I was very pleased with the selection and quality of their popcorn, it hit the craving I was looking to fill. My kids had fun looking at all of the candy, of course we didn't leave the place empty handed. Their old fashioned soda fountain was closed for the season and due to Covid but we will check back when we are up north again in the summer months, it looked very cool and my kids have no idea what a "soda fountain" is so it will be fun to educate them on that. This is the sweetest (pun intended) shop in Superior/the Duluth Area. They have such a great space with a large variety of candy displayed in an organized manner. They have: a wall of jelly beans; a counter of fudge; a counter with chocolates and truffles; a long table of perfect single sized packs of flavored popcorns; a wall of salt water taffy buckets; an area of bulk candy in cute jars; a room of fun and nostalgic prepackaged candy and a few coolers of specialty sodas. They make candy in house and the candy facilities can be seen through the big windows in the shop. Our kids loved the ice cream and the price was reasonable. Bring your quarters because they have pinball and game machines that are reasonably priced. They have a good amount of seating with homemade games made by one of the owners. We chatted with one of the owners and his wife. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the candy making process. They have a large selection of freeze dried products that they make in house. The milk duds are amazing; it's all of the flavor without the chewiness. This is definitely a small business to support. It's very family friendly and so worth the trip to Superior. read more

This has got to be one of the saddest candy shops. Their popcorn is disgusting, we tried 4 flavors and one of them I would swear was vomit flavored. Their bulk candy seems overpriced. My husband did like the chocolate s'mores they had. So there's that. But yikes. read more

I was in on Wednesday October 17th at 4:00. Never once was I greeted by anyone and when I stood at the counter with my candy ready to be checked out, I stood there for 5 minutes and said "Hello is anyone going to come help me?". This cute, quaint store makes their own fudges, chocolates, and ice creams. We stopped in for a little treat and went home with treats for everyone! There is nothing to be disappointed in with any of their chocolate treats. They are sized and priced more than fairly. Loved the popcorn and the taffy selection and went home with some of both. The white cheese popcorn is suburb!!!! It is a stop worth making and best of all, they are open in the winter while so many of these shops close. We will be back! read more

I brought my daughter here because the beautiful wall outside caught my attention. Spent quite a bit of money on candy but mostly the salt water taffy... that turned out to be hard as a rock and wasn't edible. Sad child and a waste of going. Great store with tons of candy, fudge, taffy, popcorn in lots of weird and unique flavors, and a cool ice cream/soda fountain. The space is a little tight if it's busy, but there are two sides to the store. There is a lot to choose from, and many things you probably haven't seen since you were a kid, which makes this a great place to check out. They also offer their flavored popcorn in $1 bags which was great so you could try the really weird flavors without spend a lot of money on something you may not want to eat tons of and you can try several different flavors. They have homemade fudge and chocolates as well, and many different and unique sodas. Even though they're still working on their ice cream bar, and there's construction in the background, this candy shop has everything I ever wanted. Not only do they have their own premium dipped chocolates and bon bons, they offer every jelly belly flavor, rock candy, an assortment of nostalgic candy; which include but not limited to zagnuts, pop rocks, rock candy, and fruit stripe gum. We stopped on a warm Sunday afternoon. Four of us wanting ice cream. We decided on 2 scoop Sunday. Out of hot fudge but they could warm it in the microwave. They put the fudge in the bottom of a dish and microwaved it until it was hard, then put the ice cream on top of the over cooked fudge. The ice cream was old and chrystally.
