I came in for my wellness check and…read moreto establish care and it was very basic which is fine, they do only what is the on the list for your age and gender but the reason for the rating is a couple of things. Do NOT ever let them record you for their notes because those notes and imformation can be seen by the billing department so not sure how they can violate Hepa but everyone does. Also, if the doctor asks you a question or notices something they just randomly mark it down as a diagnosis and then they bill you more as complex. For example, if you have acne but you came in for another reason and the doctor asks if you have acne and you say - I don't want to be treated for it - literally you say that, they can then write down a diagnosis of acne in your chart and charge you more for the visit. I don't think if the doctor notices something like that which you don't want to be treated for that they have the right to diagnose you without telling you. Make sure if you get asked to tell them that you don't want a "diagnosis". I feel like they are looking for diagnoses to make you complex case. I do not take any medications and have no chronic conditions but somehow UW Med says I am "complex" but no other doctor's practice has ever said that. Be very aware of what you say and what they write down is my recommendation.

I have been going here for six years and I hope I never have to go anywhere else. I have very complex health needs and I always know I will be treated kindly and with respect by everybody here -- doctors, nurses, staff, lab technicians, everybody. I feel like my entire care team here and at the rest of UW are connected and can help in treating me holistically, not just looking at numbers and stats.

He was also apparently unaware that the extremely time sensitive medication he prescribed to me , was illegal to carry at ANY pharmacy within 100 miles of me (I was informed by a pharmacist at the 4th pharmacy I went to in attempts to obtain said medication) wasting several hours of my time and worsening the severity of my condition. She prescribed me some in my first appointment which was not supposed to be used with current meds which she knew that I took and asked me about minutes ago in that appointment. I told her I didn't want to take them because they make me feel numb and unfeeling and she said "but you didn't get anxiety right??" She was argumentative and told me I wasn't a whole person. If you can't help patients with what they need then don't take the appointment. I know myself and my body better than you. I walked out of that appointment after 10 minutes crying - all the while she's sitting there as if there's something to talk about still. Please don't go to her, she is terrible.

Dr Pepin ordered an expensive endoscopy, even though I had one relatively recently. Although he did not find anything overly disturbing he then recommended a fairly expensive ultrasound. The same day I had the ultrasound he phoned and told me to undergo a gall-bladder removal surgery due to some stones being "present" (even though I did not exhibit symptoms typical of having gallbladder stones) He recommended a surgeon from Polyclinic, which upon checking happened to be relatively a novice. So I end up self-referring to a much more experienced surgeon in a different clinic. Upon carefully examining me, that surgeon was very reluctant to perform a surgery on me, due to the lack of symptoms present when someone has gallbladder stones. She recommended I get a second opinion from a different gastroenterologist, who upon examining ordered a second ultrasound. The second ultrasound in the different clinic has shown no gallstones present ! When confronting Dr Pepin with this new fining, he told me he isn't at fault for urging me to undergo a $30,000+ surgery, since he (blindly ?) relied on the ultrasound to come up with his recommendation (even though he ought to have examined me first for the conforming symptoms, instead of rashly urging me to go under the knife over the phone!). He told me he gave me the "best possible care", and that I wasn't "nice" for demanding at very least the refund of the initial faulty ultrasound. He also needlessly threatened to send me to the collection agency, even though his bills weren't even past due and, as I always do, I fully intended to pay them even without any adjustments!

(Even on weekends and holidays.) If I need to be seen, they can get me in that day or the following day. Annual exams are never hurried, and test results are fully explained. I'm not only getting great care, I'm saving money by avoiding costly emergency room visits. I'm also confident of getting referrals to the best specialists.

She has a appointment in five months with a neurologist but we though this place might help her manage some of the symptoms and feel better before that. It is the only serious medical issue she faces and yet they won't take her explaining they don't have the "band with" to manage her condition. I suspect they have labeled her in advance as a "white whiney woman" - a term male doctors often use to describe female patients who are aggressive in getting help or perhaps they just though she'd cost the practice too much money. I'm a cancer survivor, among other stuff. Nothing about my care is easy, straightforward. Some of my troubles have taken years to bring under control. Dr Hodne is the best partner, life coach, and caregiver anyone can ask for. She and her team have gone above and beyond for me, time and again. Two strategies are proven to improve patient outcomes. Constructive long-term relationships, obviously. Emphasizing wellness over treating disease. Knowing this, I enthusiastically supported Greenlake's switch to a concierge model. The concierge model is a rejection of our nation's immoral, inefficient, profiteering fee-for-service model. It's a return to our Rockwell-esque notions of the family doctor. It allows doctors to spend as much time as needed with a patient, to do research, to coordinate all the referrals, to do battle with insurers, etc. No one is getting rich in family practice. Or running an independent clinic. Do the math, read the news. The providers at Greenlake Primary Care are making huge sacrifices. Just to keep the lights on. Just to deliver actual healthcare. Yes, concierge requires memberships to make it work. Until our nation adopts Medicare For All, it's the best available option. I chose to be a member, despite living off credit cards (at the time), because I wanted to get better. I chose correctly. You can too.

Same as the others - location is convenient, the doctors are professional and scheduling is simple. Quality of care is okay, but lacking when compared to dermatologists in other geographies. Then comes the bill - hence the 1 star rating: Neither of the items submitted made any sense at all and thus my insurance didn't accept them. (Again, this is a standard preventative that has had no issues billing at other providers). They had billed for a surgery when none was performed and other unique codes they must realize nets them the largest amount. When I called them, they said they would fix it and submit the correct CPT codes and they had made a mistake. Lo and behold, I receive a bill 10 days later for the wrong amounts they had submitted. This billing is a disaster at best, but most likely a fraudulent attempt at insurance overbilling. I would avoid this place like the dishonest, greedy practice they are.
