Had an appointment scheduled for a procedure. They continually call via a computer and then place me on hold to "go over financial responsibility". I wait on hold and no one comes on the line. I leave a voicemail - no return call. I call their scheduling sept and sit on hold for 20 minutes - nothing. I finally get a receptionist that says I will pay a "no show fee" if I don't show up for my appointment. ANSWER YOUR PHONE. I want to cancel now because I don't trust them if they can't even handle basic things like communicating on a telephone. read more

My wife and I are retired and decades long patients of WAGI. Regrettably, more recently we have BOTH experienced what amounts to a total multi-level lack of accountability in scheduling any new appointments. I have left 9 voice messages over the last two weeks in trying to follow Dr. Lai's letter to me to call his office to schedule an appointment. Avoid at all costs! You get a different doctor or NP at every appointment, and they will all give you completely different advice. It's like starting from scratch every single time. It's nearly impossible to get on the phone with their staff, and their in-office staff is so rude. My appointments were also constantly being rescheduled and pushed out by the staff. I was told I had to go into the lab to pick up a sibo test. They will not set aside a kit for you, you just have to hope they have some on hand. Every time I tried to go in they were either out of tests or closed early. Their suggestion was to drive over an hour to a different location. After several months, I finally got my sibo result. The doctor at my follow up said he didn't believe in Sibo and said I just needed miralax. The entire experience was so discouraging, and I received no real help with my symptoms. About a month ago, I decided to see a naturopath instead. She got more done for me in one appointment than Washington GI did in an entire year - no exaggeration! I'm now being treated for Sibo and Candida overgrowth, and I have hope for the first time in a long time. Whether you see a naturopath or find a private GI, I guarantee you'll have a better experience than with Washington GI! read more

I saw Dr. Yap here and told him that my GI tract was starting to fail. I had a lot of very odd and scary symptoms around things like color, consistency, and there were physical issues, less about pain but more around "something is doing something obviously wrong". He almost immediately dismissed me. Fast forward to today. My stomach is herniated and distended. My intestines press against my lower spine like a lump sticking into it. Any bowel sounds are on my left flank and back, not where they're supposed to be. That's because from the imaging, you can see organs on the left side shifting out of position. I can't eat more than once a day as I don't digest food. My abdomen is hard as a rock at times. I can barely leave the house anymore. I was a 40 year old that ate well and had a strict exercise regiment, and now I am housebound. read more

If you want to pay to manage the worst group project experience of your life with the bonus of knowing your health is at risk and nobody cares, by all means try to schedule an appointment here. Prepare to spend hours at a time over multiple days/weeks/months trying to get the most basic information. After three weeks of trying to get CT results and multiple portal messages they had the audacity to ask me where I had the CT done. Apparently nobody could be f*cked to track the referral they made or the test they ordered in my file. Some of the staff make loud, disparaging comments about patients, patient phone calls can be heard in the waiting area, and they dngaf about HIPAA or your patient rights. Go anywhere else. read more

After all my extensive tests/ procedures / blood work, but was still experiencing symptoms, I had a follow up virtual appointment on 8/26/25 which was a no show. I called the office to find out why the doctor wasn't showing up after 45 minutes of waiting. Put on hold for 15 minutes. At this point I needed to get back to work, so hung up. Found out later the doc had her baby early (completely understandable) But ZERO effort to cancel the appointment with me. Got an in-person rescheduled follow-up appointment on 9/2/25 with a nurse practitioner at the Bellevue location who walked into the appointment with the idea her head: "we have run all the tests and nothing comes back showing why you are having Symptoms" No effort to help figure out what else might be happening. Once you completed their expensive testing. "Get out after that point. We can't help you" is the message I received at the appointment Overall I'm disappointed with administration staff with scheduling/ follow-up with the Initial consultation in July and the next steps to get testing started. No follow-up call with steps how to get started. What really bothered me was the Terrible bed side manor of the nurse practitioner. Not helpful at all. Why be in the health care industry if you don't want to help people? However, my colonoscopy procedure staff was excellent, very professional at the Issaquah location. read more

Months to get the appointment. Was told I would get instructions when I picked up the stuff from the pharmacy. No instructions. Had to google it. I had put down on the forms that I previously had gastric sleeve surgery. They did not take this into account and gave me a MASSIVE (several gallon) jug of laxatives to take. Yeah...I can't drink all of that. On account of the small stomach. That I told you about. If they had asked I could have told them the jug wasn't very feasible. They also didn't ask what pharmacy I preferred so I only got the jug when it was too late to change it. So of course by the time I went in for the colonoscopy, despite two days of fasting, I was not empty and they were not able to complete the procedure. They recommended I continue my fast ANOTHER day and I take ANOTHER day off of work and we try again the next morning and insurance may or may not cover it. Yeah, no thanks. And the cherry on top, they didn't hand me any of my paperwork on the way out like they were supposed to. Complete waste of time. Go anywhere else. read more

I wholeheartedly give a 5-star review for my experience with Wash GI through appointment scheduling, expectations setting, communication, procedure, and follow-up. The appointment setting did take awhile at 3 months out, but I didn't find that too long based on my needs. Had good communication & received multiple reminders leading up to the procedure date. I was so uneasy, and literally freaking out about my upcoming procedure -- but the nurses and Dr. Mohan did their best to talk to me and reassure me that everything will be fine and there was nothing to worry about. I must say that during and after my visit, I really could feel that they took great care of me. As I was leaving their office, I made a mental note of the people who provided this care to make sure everything went smoothly and I want to thank them for being so kind and professional - thank you to Katie, Gemma, Susan, and Dr. Mohan. I had an appointment for a colonoscopy for the 18th, but somebody there cancelled it the day after I scheduled it. Very disappointing. (And the 2nd scheduler was very confused.) I will do it myself at home or find another place. read more

I waited two months for a telehealth appointment, then, on the day of the appointment, I waited in the chat for 20 mins before giving up and calling. It took me another half an hour to get someone on the phone who told me my appointment had been canceled, but they'd be happy to reschedule me in a mere 7 weeks. I mean... seriously?! read more

I decided to finally schedule a colonoscopy I've been putting off forever bc I heard the prep is awful. Well, times have changed friends, prep was super easy and everyone should get one scheduled for early detection and preventative care. My doc referred me to this office. There were some great things and some not so great things but overall I'm gonna give them a 5 bc the doctor, nurses, front desk, and anesthesiologist were all fantastic. Super kind, professional, funny, and efficient. Some not so great things were while I was a minute from being rolled into the procedure room they had me sign a bunch of consent forms. This seemed like a really weird time to hand me these. Why not when I first checked in like most offices would? I told them I didn't have my glasses since I had to put all personal items away so they just pointed at places I should sign knowing I couldn't read what I was signing. Second, the way the office is set up there's very little privacy from beginning to end. My husband had his at a different office (same overlake medical building) with much more privacy if you care about that. Third issue is nobody emailed me any instructions until I emailed them asking about it. Then they sent me instructions about the prep but seems like they would have totally forgotten unless I asked. But overall I will give a 5 bc my procedure started on the dot and finished exactly as scheduled. As I said all the staff I met were incredibly professional and kind. I was happy to be done and on my way with an overall positive experience. read more

I got a call on Tuesday to make an appointment at this office. The woman asked me if I cared if it's in Bellevue or issaquah. I said I do not care but either is over an hour drive for me. She told me the soonest appointment was Thursday and after that I would have to wait a month and a half. I took the sooner appointment, I asked to clarify the address. The address she gave was in issaquah and said to be there at 2. She didn't ask for my phone number or any information and then called back to ask for my email. I never got a confirmation call, I never got a text and I never got an email. I tried to call the day before my appointment and the day of to clarify the address cause it looked strange but was on hold for so long that I gave up. Today was my appointment. I take HALF OF THE DAY OFF WORK AND DROVE OVER AN HOUR. I get to the address and it is a random apartment complex. I call the office again and wait on hold for 20 minutes. I explain the situation to the lady who tells me there is nothing she can do. I can schedule an appointment for 2 months from now. She tells me I can call them EVERYDAY and wait on hold for as long as it takes in hopes that I can get a sooner appointment. I told her I have a full time job and have already taken time off and will spend 2.5 hours driving. They should call me everyday to reschedule. After calling back sobbing, they gave me a telaheath appointment for the next day. I again had to move meetings around to be there, and no one showed up. I called the front desk who put me on hold for the entirety of my telehealth call. They told me I didn't complete the forms required. I completed the forms the day prior on the phone with someone. I wish I could put into words how deeply disheartening this entire experience has been. As someone who isn't feeling well trying to navigate this is disturbing. This is easily the worst experience I have ever had with any healthcare institution period. I actually can't even imagine how this place is running or how anyone gets an appointment. Please try to get a referral somewhere else. This place is absolutely awful read more

I have been calling nonstop. I press 3 for scheduling, it rings and rings and then says you can hold or leave a message and they'll call you back. If you continue to hold, after a few minutes the call will drop. If you try to leave a message it will tell you their mailbox is full and the call will end. Well on Friday I finally got through-- YAY -- only to be told it was their answering service and that the business had closed for the day and that their hours of operation are 8am to 4:45pm. Nowhere online does it show those hours, by the way. I feel I could die of cancer because I can't even get through their infuriating phone system to schedule my first appointment!! read more
