Bill: Pre-Snack Meal (poppadoms - and tray) Quite a different selection of "Pops" - £5.89 - Realy enjoyed. 3 x Kozhi Kurumulagu - £15.89 each - £47.67 Boneless chicken, cooked in a black pepper based sauce with onion, ginger, garlic and turmeric. Everyone enjoyed. 1 x Seafood Biriyani - £19.95 Rice, prawns (only 3), king fish (2 small pieces), Mussels (none) and Squid (none). Really tasty sauce with a bit of spicy kick. This had been recommended to me by a work colleague. I didn't mention the missing items at the time as I was with my grandchildren. In hindsight, I should have done. 1 x bottle Viognier - £31.75 - Good wine and well chilled, with a proper ice bucket. Bill Total - £113.51 All the staff were very friendly and attentive. Nice ambiance. There evening service starts at 18:00, but we arrived just before that time and they were open and other customers were already eating. I would return, but I'd mention the missing items about the seafood biriyani. Apart from that I'd order it again as I loved the flavours.

The only thing I really liked was the naan bread which was like a crumpet sort of thing and it was nice and soft warm and earthy and felt like home. I got a chicken tikka masala for my main, but it was just not spicy enough and it didn't really have the chicken tikka feeling to it A chicken tikka is meant to be a nice orange curry, but this one was bright bright bright red and the sauce was just god-awful I know I didn't get just a chicken tikka, which is basically just a red chicken because mine had sauce and the lot and I even said it was a masala I also checked the bill and it said it was a masala I will be returning, but maybe for a different dish!

Very good Chinese place right off of London road. I got the simmered chicken with yellow bean sauce. While it tasted really excellent, I'm knocking a star off because it was cubed but not de-boned. Some of the romance of date night was reduced by all the fiddly little bits of bone and other non-edible chicken bits. Still, I cannot fault the taste in the least. My boyfriend got a beef and chili dish (I think it was the crispy beef with ginger and chili). I was impressed with the nice seared texture of the thinly sliced beef (lots of places rely on the sauce a bit too much and overlook texture). It had tons of chili and I was worried it would be too much for me, but it was very good. The spiciness had a slow build and I would definitely order it again. As you can see from the photo I uploaded the menu is perfectly comprehensible for English-only speakers. The waitress was either a bit shy or had less English herself but was helpful and friendly so no complaints there. Prices were very reasonable, most dishes coming in under ten pounds.

What a gem! Found…read morethis on-line, since my wife is gluten-free and needed a change from our selection of some form of Indian restaurant. This is a small, intimate and cute restaurant. Probably can only take 30 or so diners. We happened to arrive on steak and grill night - which meant cut-price steak. My wife and I live in the US and have had great steaks. Mark (the chef) did a fantastic job with our steaks. I have medium and my wife medium-rare. A lot of the time, they come out somewhere in between rare, medium-rare, medium and well done. Mark absolutely nailed it. Beautifully done. And the bonus was the chips. Can't get them like this in the US. My parents had lamb shank. This was extremely tender and had a wonderful flavour. Based on how good the main courses were, we ordered the Eaton mess (they were out of the Nutella version) and the possett. Never seen that with candy floss. Polished off both between us all. Our waitress, Alice, was attentive and let us know when there were things that would not work (she was able to substitute for the sweet potato) and took care with the gluten-free needs. This was such a pleasant surprise and the service and quality were simply outstanding - thank you Mark and Alice for a memorable experience.

The McDonald's of Italian eateries…read more Zizzi has a nice location at the top end of Market Harborough; just away from the town centre. The restaurant is well presented to the potential patron - with 2 small potted trees flanking the entrance. Inside we are greeted by a waiting area, and some steps to the larger eating space. There are also more tables around the corner, leading to a conservatory (open only at weekends). The kitchen is open - and you can view your meals being cooked if you want to. I didn't see a microwave though which was odd considering the low quality of some of the food. I've eaten at Zizzi quite a few times - always at lunch - with work colleagues, and very often the place reminds me of a high quality creche - with upper class mums and screeching children making for a rather annoying atmosphere. Furthermore the poor quality of the tasteless, stodgy pasta always makes me grimace. Recently I had calamari - at £10.00 for a main course. The fried squid was nice, although there was very little of it, and I was still hungry when I left. Generally the food is not of a high standard, although I can recommend the Calzone Carne Piccante - a calzone with green chilli, mushrooms, tomator sauce, chicken and beef. It's tasty and huge. If you want a decent Italian meal in Market Harborough I would recommend Prego on St Mary's Road, and I would advise to avoid Zizzi. Service and surroundings at Zizzi are both fine, but the food really isn't a high quality.
