I love supporting a local business (Ace is a franchise, so it is better for the local economy than Home Depot). I generally am able to easily find most of the things I need for small house or gardening projects and for bigger things, or things that aren't in the store, they can order it and have it delivered to your home. We ordered a bunch of outdoor furniture through them. Most recently, I grabbed some garden shears and wire tomato growing cages at Ace. I like the employees and generally find them to be helpful and happy to have me as a customer. Highly recommended.

Great service. I…read moremoved into a house about a mile away from Washington Square, over the hill, and realized pretty quickly that a) I need to own an extension ladder, b) my car would in no way be able to help me move it, c) I probably needed a couple big central air filters at the same time, and d) my wife knows that if she implies I can't do something I will definitely do it. It's a real nice day, and she gently suggests I ask about delivery, so I strike out on foot. Fifteen minutes later the fella at Connelly's is showing me right to everything, takes me downstairs to look over the gutter downspouts because that's coming due soon too, makes incredulous small talk about my plan to walk a mile home with twelve foot of extension ladder and ten square foot of air filter, and then gets super pumped when he realizes that he and some masking tape can make my life easier by turning the big air filters into a big fashionable tote for my other shoulder. He helps me out the door, and long story short I got everything home, didn't wipe out any bikes, avoided that one Bugatti, and only embarrassed myself when there was no-one around. Connelly is now my hardware store for life, and god-willing I'm never going to buy another extension ladder from them again.

Fortunately I knew better, and told him that I already had verified that it was on the shelves somewhere. He walked away, leaving me to find it on my own, which I eventually did. If I had not verified it's presense, I would have driven home empty handed. Maybe this employee could use a little more training?

I had my contractor's invoice from 2020 which turned out to be for the pressure treated wood for the new deck built then. LP and Izzy together were able to go to my contractor's page, find the specs about the TimberTech used, and refresh my memory about the color. They gave me a sample board and a TimberTech Source Book, encouraging me to call the company about the strange bleached-out stain on my deck. They also quoted me the cost of two replacement boards for my handyman to purchase for the repair. Problem solved.
