What impressed me even more was that they were able to stop by that same evening to take measurements so the repair could be completed the next day. After they left, I realized the broken spring had actually caused more extensive damage to the entire garage door, so I asked them for a full replacement quote. There was nothing really wrong other than that the door started squeaking a little (even after I lubed the joints). Also, 4 years had passed since the last inspection and tune up. It literally took the technician less than 10 minutes. He asked me for $150. Because I could not believe what I was hearing, I asked him again. He insisted that $150 is the minimum they charge (up to an hour). As soon as the technician left, I called the office. They told me the the minimum charge for a service call is $100 (plus tax). So, I asked them why they think the technician told me $150, but they could not explain why. The technician must have pulled the number out of thin air! I'm certain that there are many customers out there who were overcharged because I wouldn't have thought anything of it if the technician spent close to an hour even if they charged me $150. Also, as you can see in my original review, a different technician, John, charged me a half of the hourly rate back then (4 years ago) because it only too him 30 minutes. Clearly, they don't do that any more. I have to say I'm disappointed because I believe in common sense. *About the rating. I gave 2 stars because the office corrected the mistake. From the expected time for the necessary parts to arrive to when he would be on his way was spot on. As the work was progressing, he explained everything clearly and again answered all of my questions regarding the door repair. Price was reasonable. Will continue to use Snohomish Door for future garage door tune ups and any repairs as necessary. Jimmy was personable, respectful, and easy to work with. Highly recommend!
