Prior to coming to this shop, I had been gifted a bike but knew very little about bicycles since the last time I rode one was over a decade ago. I initially went to REI feeling completely lost and unsure of what I needed. After walking around for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged, I decided to leave and I'm glad I did because I found this shop instead. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted right away. Zabi took the time to look over my bike and made helpful recommendations on what I needed to get it road-ready again. At no point did I feel pressured into buying anything. Instead, he made sure I felt comfortable and understood my options. The customer service was outstanding, not only from him but from everyone else in the shop as well. Even if larger corporate stores are running sales, I would much rather drive here and support a business where customers are genuinely welcomed and cared for. I had a great experience here getting my bike fixed. I'm a "just for exercise and a bit of fun" bike rider and was looking for a shop that might be able to fix my bike which had fallen into disrepair after a handful of years stationary in the garage. I was really pleased with the whole process, from calling to see if they might be able to do anything with my bike, to the estimate, to pick up. Staff were all friendly and I appreciated the options given during the estimate. I was very happy with the attention to detail. On pick up, I was pleased they were able to hold my bike for a couple extra days due to my work schedule and Joseph was awesome helping me get my bike into the car. Brought my bike in because it wasn't shifting - they throughly checked the bike and concluded the front shifters were low/dead on batteries. I remember last time had issue with my bike before IMOhio 70.3. They highly recommended going to Swanny's Cycles and they know that they would do everything could get bike to Ohio last hour. Not sure owner but asked me going on with my bike. I told him about Scram e-red shifters acting up not shifting gears. He noticed the problem right away something off with the battery issues on. I took my rear wheel to Swanny's to get a new tube for my rear tire. The bike is a 1974 Schwinn Le Tour. They suggested that I get a tube for the front too and since the tires were 13 years old, I should replace them. They only had one tire from that era but ordered another one. A week later I went back and they replaced both tubes and tires. After returning home I had trouble getting the rear wheel and derailleur set up properly so I took the entire bike to Swanny's and they set up the derailleur in a few minutes and I was on my way. I live near Boulder City so Swanny's is not close to me. I heard about them through a friend. I was having difficulty with my shifting and so I cleaned my drivetrain hoping that would fix the issue. It didn't. So I figured I would get my cables replaced. Since I had over 2,500 miles on them. I brought my 2013 Trek Domane to Swanny's to have the cables replaced. I dropped it off on Saturday and they texted me the next day to inform me they had found another issue with my bike. The rivets that hold my front derailleur to my carbon frame had become loose due to wear and tear. An issue I would have never found on my own. I came to the shop on Monday to see the issue for myself and to find out what I can do to prevent it from happening again. I have always done this with any issue with my bike, mainly so I can see what the problem looks like that way I can spot it myself the next time it occurs. But I have had some techs get offended by this as if I'm accusing them of making stuff up. I didn't get that feeling from the guys at Swanny's, they were happy to show me the problem and explain what needed to be done to fix it. Luckily they caught the problem early enough that it could be fixed. I picked my bike up today and rode it and it feels like a new bike. I couldn't be happier with the service I got and the price that I paid for the work that was done. Any issues I have in the future I will drive the extra miles to bring my bike to Swanny's and I recommend you do the same. read more

In short: We are not seasoned cyclists, but we felt more than welcome at Swanny's. The staff provides great advice and without any pressure to buy something. Longer version: We bought a custom-made pedal-assist rickshaw/ pedi-cab off a guy on Facebook. Before taking it out of town for an event, we decided to get it checked out by someone who knows more about bikes than we do. We called up Swanny's after seeing so many 5 star reviews and they agreed to take a look. One of the co-owners happened to be free, so he gave our rig the once over. Because of the pedal assist, he let us know our custom rickshaw was actually an "e-bike" (news to us) so would require an e-bike specialist. Swanny's doesn't work on e-bikes. Still, he gave his honest opinion about the tires (not as thread-bare as we feared) and provided some great advice to prepare for a blow out (just in case). He even gave us our tire measurements (we had no idea) and explained what we would want to buy and from where (Amazon, for the win). Charge to us? $0.00. This is next-level customer service! The kind of thing that just doesn't seem to exist anymore. We were blown away and wished we had regular bikes so we could bring them back to Swanny's. But, if you have a non-e-bike, this is most definitely the place to go! read more

Met the owner at a coffee shop and he happened to be very close friend of someone who owned a bike shop I used to go to. At the time I met him the shop was not open to the public yet but was going to be very soon. Obviously I procrastinated on getting my bike fixed as the shop has been open for over a year now, however, I finally took my bike in for service. I needed a lot of work done so it took a few days. I got the bike back just before it got really windy out here making bike riding difficult, I won't say impossible, some people like to live on the edge. A few days after I got the bike back, I decided to see how everything was operating. I found that the gear shifter on the right side which only had a new cable installed on it was not working. This was a gear shifter I had replaced before the bike went into storage for a bit and it was working fine before and after coming out of storage but now did not work anymore. I took the bike back and the tech who worked on it opened it up and for some reason a spring on the inside was not staying in place and doing what it was designed to do. I agreed to leave the bike there and let him play with it to see if he can get it working again. I received a call later that day and the owner said he was just going to replace that gear shifter at his expense. I was surprised, but not surprised. I was surprised because he was willing to take care of this for me I spent a lot of money already there so that was cool. I'm not surprised because of who he is friends with and because the day I first met him, I was able to tell that he had a very caring personality and was about taking care of people. The owner really enjoys what he is doing and he runs and awesome bike shop. I'm sure he does not like or enjoy dealing with disgruntled people which there are all over, but he sincerely cares about people leaving his shop happy and satisfied. I did have to have both brakes replaced and upon riding for the first time, some minor adjustments needed to be made to the brake cable but that's part of normal wear and tear so even though it was brand new, they are not me, so they cannot really set things to my liking unless they are out riding with me. Enough rambling, this is an AWESOME Bike Shop and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop. I believe the prices are fair, the staff is very friendly and it is a place you feel like you can just hang out even though you would really be in their way if you did. As someone incredibly passionate about cycling I make it a point to check out local bike shops anytime I travel. Swanny's was the first on my radar and I'm so glad I stopped by. The staff was friendly and they carry some incredibly high end bikes (a couple Cervelo's and Bianchi's caught my eye). I loved the chill laid back atmosphere of the shop. My only and very humble recommendations to the owner, should they read this, are to have a policy of passionately engaging with your clientele and carry a larger variety of soft goods (jerseys, bibs, etc.). Upon entering the shop I was greeted but no one followed up to see what brought me in. While I was there for the atmosphere and to check out the local cycling scene, a knowledgeable sales person definitely could've shown me options and talked up the shop/brands - had there been a wider variety of cycling apparel I definitely would've walked out with a new kit or two. That being said, I'd highly recommend checking out Swannys! read more

Got ran over in April. Bike was totaled & drover took off. Cops didn't help & I was left with the bill. Thankfully I'm a disabled veteran after 10 years of service & the VA covers all my medical stuff but I was still out of my bike. Took me a little over 8 months to save up enough to even afford a new bike with the pittance the VA gives you when you're rated as a 100% permanently & totally disabled veteran. Finally save up $~900 to get a replacement mtb. As I'm replacing parts & stuff, my square tapered won't come out so I bring it into the shop so they can get it out for me as i'm upgrading a bunch of stuff on it. They did a great job getting it out & I took my uber back with my frame. They seemed nice. Keep in mind, this was the same bike I brought in which warranted this review. Well, after getting a PDiddy-approved level of mineral oil everywhere getting the brakes bled right, getting the chain aligned with the gears, & hearing the mustachoid individual in the blue apron talk about sprockets & what not for what seemed to be forever, I finally get everything right. Put about 200 miles on it my 1st month with it. Then my rear derailleur got off. Wasn't sure why & I couldn't get it back & I couldn't figure out why. I gave the shop here a call. I tell them what's going on & they ask me, "It's just the rear derailleur, right? Because as long as it's that we can take a look at it". Great! So I go to my Dr's appointment & as soon as I get back I hop on my bike & head over. After a 1-hour bike ride to the shop, I walk in the door with my bike, & some middle-waged woman asks how can she help me. I tell her I'm here to have them look at my rear derailleur. And before I could even finish the sentence, she's looking at my bike with a look of complete disgust on her face that I would even dare rich such a hideous looking piece of garbage. I mean it was TRULY a look of disgust that I'd even present such a thing. I was honestly impressed with the level of vitriol she seemed to have. & like I said, before I could even finish my sentence on why I'm here, she goes, "ohhhh. yeah. That. Yeah we can't work on whatever that is". I tell her, "yeah. I'm just here for my rear derailleur. I already talked to someone one the phone about it". Again she persists. Word for word, "yeah okay but I don't knooooow. Whatever that thing is I don't know we can't whatever that is". Honestly shops like this one & velocibike are everything that's wrong w/ mountainbiking & a lot of sports. When I brought in my brand new shiny Liv frame yall were more than happy to do whatever to help because it's an easily recognizable brand name. But as soon as I spray painted my bike jet black, but electrical tape on it so it's actually protected since I can't afford these insanely priced bikes, now I'm getting looked at like I'm a crazy homeless person. Got it. Shops like this drive people away from the sport & is honestly the driving reason why everything is priced so outrageously expensive. As an out-of-towner, I was a little concerned about some unanticipated repairs needed when I arrived. On the way, I cased a jump and bent a wheel. On another bike I managed to strip the brake bleed port. I started with the brake repair and the team was friendly and efficient. They even had a replacement caliper in stock that was the same price as on-line. Bonus. A few bucks and a few days later and that bike was fixed. Next, I had a replacement hoop shipped directly to them so they could lace it up with my old hub and spokes. Unfortunately it was the wrong drilling. I blame Stan's for that one - they had the serial number of the original. Oh well. I wanted a hub upgrade anyway and took the opportunity. Fanatik had a new Hope 5 there in 4 days and on day 5 my new wheel was ready. The price was very fair for labor and materials. I was prepared for 2x the cost based on prices at home. Since my visit was to help my daughter get settled in her new place, I will be back frequently. It's nice to know there's an LBS I can rely on for good, fair and friendly work when needed. I suspect more wheel damage in my future :) read more

Just wanted to share my great experience buying a bike from Swann's online. I was searching for a very specific bike in a hard to find size and a specific color (SSE EVO hi-mod 58 sonic blue). I had searched all over the US and finally found one in stock at Swanny's. I emailed at nearly 10PM that night and got a response in less than 15 minutes, confirming stock and confirming they could ship. Cut to me purchasing and getting a timeline to build and ship. From that time, communication was great and they beat the timeline laid out. The bike was built and shipped one day ahead. I received the bike, well packed and as they said, 95% assembled. I was able to get almost everything together quickly with one exception which was not their issue. As I was assembling, I had a few questions so I texted their number. In less than 3 minutes, there was a call from the mechanic who built the bike, ready to answer all my questions. We walked through a few items and resolved them all. In a world where meeting or exceeding deadlines and where great customer service in general are a lost art, Swanny's team just gets it right. Their understanding that that sale is just part of the transaction when it comes to bikes was truly appreciated. I would recommend them wholeheartedly and will hopefully do business with them again in the future. They are a great shop to deal with. read more

Terrible customer service. I'm not a big fan of giving better customer service to the person that called in, rather than the guy standing right in front of you. I drove all the way down there with my bike. As I walk in, the phone rings and one of the employees literally said "hold on a minute while I answer the phone". Why? The guy sitting at home in his underwear deserves better customer service than me? I stood there for a good ten minutes. No other employees offered to help me. How hard is it to say, "Please hold while I help the customers that actually bothered coming into the store. Thank you."? read more
