It's worth the roughly 12 bucks or so for a Bergen County Parks card that you're supposed to have to park and use the range. Pretty much an honor system.

Our instructor, Martin, was funny, informative, and insightful. I learned more about archery in those first 15 minutes than I had in my entire life. He was very directive about what was important to employ in terms of technique, things to look out for (like when retrieving your arrow or if you happen to drop one, and your quill could accidentally become a hazard), and where to keep focus. I think my target speaks volumes for how well they make sure you understand what you're doing. I only wish that I could have taken more pictures and video, but it wasn't clear whether or not we could, and I didn't want to introduce a potential hazard (to them or myself). Great experience. Would love to go back!

They were really patient and helped everyone learn the basics and even improve throughout the course of the 2 hours. I came here on a Saturday afternoon for a 90 minute class, actual shooting time is probably about only 10-15 min total as there are about 12-14 of us so need to share and rotate the targets. Plus there was a regular class right before us that they start only 30 min before us so that means more waiting in between the shooting. The instructors are very skilled however and knew what they were talking about and they take safety very seriously so I felt safe the whole time and didn't have any urges to mess around :-) Location is inside a church in the gymnasium area, if you get lost just ask the people around and they will guide you nicely to the archery area. Luckily, it was just my friend but I could no imagine if it was a stranger. This place is byob and you can bring food. We did this but I honestly wouldn't do it again lol. Since you're on a time crunch you barely have time to sit down and drink or eat. I'm knocking off one star because I did not see them sanitize the bows, arrows, or tables in between my session and the session after mine. Be sure to wash your hands!
