Dr. Campion is the absolute best in the vision industry. No one has ever gotten my contact lens prescription correct like he has, and I will be forever grateful to him for that. This time, my prescription was even more perfected than it was the last time I saw him several years ago. His ability to pinpoint exactly what you need for your vision is truly amazing. The prices are way too high. They charge for every option separately, that you want, UV transitions. Anti-glare and more. Adds up. If you want a better deal , whatever options one wants, it is one price and good quality. Go to Costco. They do have good selection and nice sales people, but way to expensive. I'm at SVS on W. Maple right now. No one greeted me, not a "Hello", "We'll be right with you", NOTHING. I walked in the door at 3:29pm on 7/5/21 and I still haven't been acknowledged. I haven't been treated this rudely in quite some time. I'm here to get my glasses (Gucci & Versace) adjusted (which of course I purchased from SVS in Wayne, MI). *AVOID AT ALL COSTS* This business is terrible, unprofessional and ghetto. After dropping off my custom Tom Ford frames for prescription lenses I was told it would be 7-10 days before I'd get them. After 16 days I contacted the Troy location to see if my glasses were in. They rudely said they'd call me back later that day. No call. The next day I called back and they said I'd have to come back to the store to sign another piece of paper before they could start my glasses. Wow. Ok. What if I never called back to inquire about the status of my glasses, would they have EVER contacted me?! In any case, I told them to forget the order and I would like to pick up my frames. They rudely said that my glasses would be available for pick up in 10 days. They had no remorse, and even refused me access to talk to a manager. Please AVOID this place. read more

I had a noon appointment for an eye exam today. I was a few minutes early because I wanted to get my glasses that I had purchased there adjusted. They were not very busy. I was told, sit there and not greeted warmly. I was then handed an iPad. I said very nicely that nothing had changed in my information since last year. I was told in a very rude condescending manner that it had to be completed every year. I completed the information and continue to wait. At 11:55 AM, the optometrist called someone back for their exam. My appointment was at 12 noon. The person who was wearing a mask that worked there finally came over. I said I would like to get my two pair of glasses that I purchased there last year adjusted while I was waiting. She said you're going to need to wait very rudely. She's asked me if I was going to be purchasing glasses today. I said that I was not. I didn't tell her why because I think that's personal, but I lost my job two months ago and could not afford to make a purchase today. The glasses I purchased a year ago were over $600 out of my pocket. She finally came over to adjust my glasses and said you're going to have to sign a waiver. That means if they are broken or damaged during the adjustment you are responsible for the damage. I have been getting glasses for over 60 years and I have never signed a waiver at any place. She said they are your responsibility now very rudely. I told her I had gone into places to have my glasses adjusted where I'd never purchased them and they very nicely and willingly adjusted them, no waivers. To me that shows ineptness in the employees and no confidence in their ability to be able to adjust glasses. I am certainly not going to have glasses that cost over $600 turned over to someone who might break them. I said I'll just take them somewhere else to be adjusted. Finally, the optometrist came out. She said oh I want you to take this lady back because she's getting contacts so you'll need to see her again, I said excuse me, but this is my appointment time and I'm next. She said well you'll have to wait because she was actually here before you and now that she's getting contacts she'll need to go back. I know she did this because I was not purchasing glasses today. That woman would have to purchase a lot of contacts to make up for what I purchased last year in designer frames and very expensive lenses. However, this is beside the point because my appointment was at 12 noon. I would have to think long and hard to come up with a customer service experience that was worse than this. Not only will I never go back to this SVS Troy or any SVS, I had suggested to my daughter that she go here because she needs prescription glasses and sunglasses. I just texted her not to go here. I will make sure that none of my friends or family members do either. You are a disgrace to the Optical profession. A company stays in business based upon service after the sales. No one in that place today understood Customer service. I am sorry that I purchased the glasses I did there last year. I was a national senior account manager and I never lost a client. That is because I gave them superior Customer service. With companies going out of business every single day, I can't imagine SVS staying in business much longer. read more

LThe staff here is so friendly and helpful and truly know their stuff. I've been to plenty of eye glass places and none of them have shown interest or kindness like they do here. Especially Cynthia. She was super intelligent and honest with helping me find the perfect pair! The optometrist here was also super friendly and was apt to help me understand my vision. Another awesome perk for this location was the quickness of getting my glasses. Typically I've waited 10-14 business days but here I got them in one week! They have a pretty large selection to pick from and majority of the frames looked durable. This place is extremely frustrating. My first appointment went fine, but just getting contacts ordered was a nightmare. I had to come in for a second visit to pick up my contact samples and get my eye pressure re-tested. It took over an hour for what should have been a 5 minute visit. So I go home and just order my contacts online. Now they won't approve my prescription with the online retailer. They want me to come in yet again to 'look at my contacts in my eyes.' I've been using the same contacts for 2 years! Don't go here. read more

This place has provided me with the worst pair of glasses I have ever had in my 6 decades of wearing glasses! Always smudged, even with the prescribed cleaner, glare at night when driving and simply inadequate response to my complaints. Overcharges for their version of Transitions buy hundreds of dollars. They advertise a Sale but have hidden costs that double their original quotes. Horrible! Never again will I get burnt by these people! read more

Very happy with every aspect of my visit here. The facility is clean and inviting. The exam was painless and we talked about various things that may impact my vision. The ladies in the front were very helpful in helping me pick out frames that looked good on me, and they were able to explain my insurance and helped me get the best deal possible. Do more research....DON'T GO HERE! I went here because they accepted my vsp plan and was close. After an exam they billed insurance wrong and won't fix it!!! Not to mention they bill to the max. and don't give you an option on your own plan. I am screwed. I know insurance and they just need to have someone more capable then who they have now (rosemary). I would like to start by saying this is where I went to get eye glasses for a number of years. I don't know what has happened in recent months but who ever is working there needs to touch up on there customer service skills. I have tried to make an appointment twice In the last months with my Insurence and they kept telling me I'm inactive.. I would then call my insurence and they would tell me the contrary. These individuals would wait until my appointment date to tell me ttat my Insurence was inactive.. which it wasn't they just didn't know what they were doing. Not to mention the attitude they would give me on the phone when I was simply trying to schedule an eye exam. I called Henry Ford OptimEye and they found my Insurence within a matter of minutes of giving them my information. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Well, I have worn glasses for years. My exam by my next examination must have been poorly done, took my reading strength up .5 and it has only been two years. Next the glasses were extremely expensive and we're never comfortable. The eye pads were tiny and made deep depressions in my nose. The depressions became so bad they scabbed. I went back to Costco and they replaced them with something much better, this is after numerous trips to SVS. The worst part is that the lenses scratched extremely easy!!! I wear transition lenses and have never had this problem, they were scratched after two months. After eight months I couldn't stand how bad they were and so I PAID to have them redone under their insurance plan ($180+-) only to have them be all scratch again in two months. It's a SCAM!! Never again SVS. Back to Costco....I have had my glasses three months and not a mark or scratch!!! read more

We had to use SVS because that is the only place our insurance carrier would allow. The store itself was clean and nice, but the women in the front were something else! One of the women was quiet and kept to herself, the other was a domineering bull dog. She seemed kind of offended that I didn't get the frames she liked. When I went to pick up my glasses she had already "loosened" my frames for me so I "wouldn't break them." I asked her to put the back to the original, she rolled her eyes at me and said she couldn't. To this day I have glasses that slide down my nose. I do not recommend this store. Maybe they will be better after the bull dog retires. read more

Dr. Livingston, the actual eye doctor, is the greatest! Really patient, good with his patients, smart, great at his job, & very friendly. The only issue with this place is the women who work for him. Both are rude, have strong personalities & fantastic eye rolls, and act like they'd rather be doing anything than helping you out. When I called to ask to have my prescription faxed to me (to price out other contact options), the woman who answered snapped and told me she was busy and didn't have the time. (um... ok?) When they called me back, they "faxed over" the prescription but I didn't get it. I called back so they could re-fax it, and the woman acted like I was the neediest person on earth, asking me "what went wrong?"... 1) I don't know, I am not an IT expert, it could've been an issue on either side; and 2) she's a dinosaur and I'm more tech-savvy in my twenties, so my guess would have to be that she didn't send it correctly. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else -- I will be following Dr. Livingston and praying he leaves SVS soon! read more
