This was my first review!!! Not make me feel like crap cause I didn't have my co- pay and told them I d bring it on Wednesday and pressured my to get into them that day. So I borrowed the money and my husband went up before work to pay them the 20 dollars and they were closed for lunch. Then you call me and ask for the money. I didn't want to cancel cause I did once already. Didn't think 20 dollars was going to be a big deal,but it was obviously. So I'll pay it tomorrow and find another place to go for glasses. Been going to SVS for years. I'll give them a higher score this time cause when I went to pick them up everyone was extremely nice but none of that takes away from the embarrassment my husband and I felt. My husband decided to pay in full for my glasses. Which was $400 out of pocket with decent insurance. I wanted to purchase some prescription sun glasses since it's second pair half off. Went in to pick up my glasses after I received a text. LIVONIA LOCATION Walked up to front counter, let the blond older (oldest looking one, since there is two 'older' ladies) anyways- this one sits in the front desk. She rudely told me to sit in the back long desks, so I did. She walked up and to the back, seemd like she was looking for something, came back sat at front desk. (Was she looking for my glasses?) This other lovely lady asked if I needed help, assuming this other lady was looking for my stuff I let her know that I think this other lady is. 20 min later, I got the 'lovely ladies' attention for help. She pulled my glasses out of the drawers in-front of me and adjusted my glasses in prob less than 5 min! I waited for about 30 min on this lady for a 5 min job! (Btw you might think - oh she's busy answering phones, nope- there was other ladies in the center desks answering the calls that were coming in) so not sure why she didn't help me or get someone to help me... LOW STARS TO SHED ATTENTION TO THIS TREATMENT *^^^BUT, the Ophthalmologist was GREAT so was the other older blond lady who helped me select my prescription Sun and daily glasses. This other lady who helped with my new glasses was also amazing! read more

I accidentally put left contact in right eye and vision was crisper, to a degree. I told Dr. Information so he changed my prescription from left eye to right eye, unfortunately did not treat astigmatism. I was saying I needed possibly stronger, he gave me the prescription I chose. read more

Vision screening was really fast. Measurements for glasses was also very fast. Ladies were friendly and professional. Problem: SVS closed down due to water pipe break in store next to them. I was expecting glasses to arrive the following week. I was not informed of anything. I called corporate to find out what was going on. Glasses were in and being held in another city. The professional in that city at that SVS was also very friendly and helpful. They will send glasses in the mail. read more

I love the staff at SVS vision located on Cass in Mt. Clemons, MI. They are always friendly and welcoming. The eye doctor is a genuine matter of fact old school doctor who I appreciate. His passion for healthy eye care is prevalent in any discussion you have with him about your eyes. However I was disappointed that when I picked up my new prescription glasses there were no cleaning solution or wipes available for my new pair of eye glasses nor did it come with a handkerchief or cloth wipe to clean lenses when they become blurry or dirty. The young lady helping me did assure me when they get more cleaning solution in that she can mail it out to me and verified my address since I now live in another state. Overall I really like SVS eyewear selection, price especially sale events, staff and doctors. I wish there was an SVS located in more states . read more

I am happy to tell you that Dr. Angela Bell was all I expected. The exam was thourough and her dignified manner during the exam met all my expectations. I was happy with the first visit yet, and, but, as you know the store advertised open hours on the web site and in person so when I went to pick up two pairs of new glasses I was caught off guard by the sign posted that morning to announce they were closed. a simple phone call add on when they called would help avoid extra trips but oh no I listened to all of their excuses and felt stupid for asking. gee. didn't know the customers were such a pain in the service chain. read more

Quick, easy and friendly service. Large selection of frames. Only issue I had was I went to pick up my glasses on Saturday. There was a note on front door that said closed today reopen Monday. Went back Monday they were still closed. Called Tuesday they reopened and I got my glasses. Glasses fit, feel and look great. read more

The online sign up for an appointment needs to be revamped. We will never sign up o line again. Had to enter name, address, DOB SO many times!! The office staff on Mack and Moross was decent. I didn't appreciate the specialist mispronouncing my children's names and when I corrected him, he did not take it upon himself to say their names correctly. He was completely dismissive. I thought that was extremely rude, ignorant, and inconsiderate. If it were not for the convenience of the appointment while my children are on break, I would have gone elsewhere. Once they receive their prescription, I will be finding another specialist. read more

Let me start by saying that I don't have insurance and am on Medicaid. I am a senior and have a need for bi focal glasses. When ordering bi focal glasses it very important to have what is called the PD or pupillary distance. It allows the company making the glasses to know where to position the bi focal so it lines up with your eyes. I have had lots of eye appointments and have never been refused the PD on my prescription. I was given every excuse for their refusal of this number on my prescription except the real one, it is to hold you hostage to buying from them and not online. People of modest means are always being taken advantage of by these corporation pigs. Please boycott this and every business that looks to exploit the poor. This is shameful! read more

The employees were very nice and the online pre-appointment questionnaire helped speed up the appointment. I would have given 5 stars, but I'm not sure what their policy is regarding cleaning kits. When my wife and daughter get their new glasses they always get a cleaning kit. I received 1 kit with my first pair of glasses about 15 years ago and a second about 5 years ago only because I asked. Again, not sure what the policy is, but I feel it should be consistent. read more

They moved locations without notifying me. They said I should've gotten a text with the address, which I never did, and this still would not have alerted me that the location had completely moved. I wanted almost a half hour to see the doctor. He was kind and thorough. I asked for a copy of my prescription to order lenses online. I got home and realized half the values are blank. I tried to schedule an appt for my husband but they only have a doctor there two days a week, both of which are days my husband works. I went back to the office the next week on my lunch break to get the mission info I needed for my prescription, but the office was "temporarily closed" when I arrived. They need to figure out their staffing and get organized and this would be a decent place. read more

The store I usually use for my eyeglasses no longer takes my insurance, so I went to SVS. While the customer service was great and the Optometrist did a great job, too, the price of the glasses was a bit high, in my opinion. I bought one pair of bi-focals and one pair of sunglasses and the total AFTER insurance was almost $800. I used to get two pair of glasses for half that. If you don't have a choice, definitely go here, but I would advise shopping around a bit for a better price. read more

From the persons who greeted me for my first visit to the doctor to Allison who helped me pick out the right glasses - I have not been treated so well by such friendly yet professional people in a very long time. I liked that the doctor was thorough with recommendations that didn't come with scare tactics I found to often in other doctors. I like that every person truly cared about helping and made me feel at home. I will be back next year for my annual exam (I usually don't do annual exams) but only to this SVS Vision. I am so pleased with the service I received at Svs and happy that I am a patient of theirs. My husband and I have been coming here for a few years and they have always been wonderful, on time and helpful with us choosing our frames. Today I scratched my eye on accident with a hair brush and was having a lot of pain and discomfort so I called and they got me in asap. Just left SVS in Allen Park without being seen. They gave me two appointments for myself and my wife at 8:15 and 8:30. First thing out of her mouth was we can only see one of you missed your 8:00 am appointment. Long story short I'm not dealing with a mean nasty person who. Avoid this location. The reception desk staff is rude and clueless. Unfortunately they are the people you deal with when you call and first enter the location. I was asked about the issue with my glasses upon entry into the store. I was immediately told I was wrong about my complaint. She said I didn't understand how the product actually worked. She never actually looked at what the problem was. She never even asked to see the glasses. When I finally saw someone who looked at my glasses, it turned out there was a problem. They were made incorrectly. You would think this might warrant at least a small apology for the inappropriate statements made by the staff member, but I guess this is just part of the service. This will definitely be my last time using this location. Hopefully after talking to my H.R. department, this will be the last time I will ever use this company. read more
