My second time there for maintenance and parts. They are polite and helpful I'd definitely recommend them.

Hitch King Trailer Sales & Mobile Repair

Stopped at Hitch King to have an RV propane tank refilled. My tank is a 7.5 gallon tank that…read morealways takes about 7.1 gallons to fill from empty (I've had it filled dozens of times). Propane prices right now range from about $2.80 to $3.20 across the entire US (which I've just driven - filling up along the way), so my tank always costs $20-$23 to fill from empty. The owner walked out to the propane shed, hooked the filler up to my tank, opened the valve, and started filling. (He didn't open the bleed valve on my tank at all - which would show when my tank was getting full.) He kept the doors to the filling station almost closed, and kept his body between me and any view of the meter. I moved aside to try to see the meter, and he moved again to block me. After a couple minutes, he shut off the pump, unhooked the fill hose, and closed the doors - being apparently extra careful to not let me see how much was dispensed. "That's thirty bucks even," he said. "We only take cash." and held out his hand. I handed him $30 cash, which he put into his pocket. No cash registers, no receipt, (and therefore probably no taxes paid.) When I got back home, I confirmed that my tank was about 2/3 full, so I paid $30 cash for about $15 worth of propane. Shaaaady.

    Unique Marine

I have been a customer at Unique Marine for over two years now with not only a purchase of a new…read moreWorldCat boat but also for mobile service calls and most recently a 100 hour service call that included a checklist one would expect to have after owning a boat for 18 months. I wonder if some of these reviewers actually were customers of Unique Marine because my experience with them is totally different from the experiences they are describing. I have only had a great relationship with this company, beginning with the efforts my salesperson took after I left my drivers license at the yard and he drove all the way to Miami Airport to make sure I had an ID for my flight! (I made the flight as well as he made it to the airport in record time from Tavenier). Post purchase Unique has been very prompt with my questions and concerns and patient as they educated me on the various features of the boat. Recently I took it in for a 100 hr service and they could not have been more thorough in the process, even upgrading the systems with features that I did not have prior. They hit everything from the boat mechanics to the lights and even boat labels that had fallen off. There were a couple outstanding items where the service technician came to my house to finish and he went through the checklist again even if it wasn't required. I love my WorldCat. I knew coming in there would be issues (if you don't think there are issues on any new boat think again) and Unique was there to resolve them everytime. When I get that 2 ft disease you get with a boat I am going back to Unique to have it cured. Thank you Tracy and team!

I've owned two World Cats and can compare my experience with Ocean Blue Yacht Sales (295DC) and…read moreUnique Marine (325DC). Sales experience at both was excellent--no complaints. The boats themselves are outstanding: great in shallow water and very capable in rough seas. The difference is in service. Ocean Blue was proactive and responsive, even sending technicians to the dock for minor warranty items. That made ownership easy. Unique Marine, on the other hand, has been frustrating. While the staff is always polite, they seem unable or unwilling to provide on-site support. Multiple warranty issues--including an A/C pump, generator sensor, cabin leak, and now a breaker problem--required repeated follow-ups, with little action unless I involved World Cat directly. In several cases, I was told to bring the boat in, which is not a simple task with a 32' boat in the Keys. In one instance, I was told they couldn't help at all and had no referral. Bottom line: great boats, good sales teams--but post-sale support from Unique Marine has been disappointing. If service after the sale matters to you, take that into account before buying.

Bunch of guys got on my boat, 55'r, and decided that for my boat to fit in there hoist my rigging needed to be disconnected, to lift it out. The guy from Harbor Marine asked what I needed, told him my bilge pumps stopped working and I have a list of things I wanted done. He asked me if I had a budget and I should had said not yet, instead I said $100k. I grab a hotel room down the street and came back the next day to see that indeed they were pumped out 1 bilge into a 55gal drum, cool. Tried to talk to Tyrone the owner of Harbor, he's busy, come back tomorrow. Came back the following day and nothing had changed from yesterday. The hose was in the same place, no one is on my boat. Again I tried to have a conversation and was told he's at lunch. I waited on my boat and went back to the office, nothing. The very next day, same everything. My wife decided to fly home and I moved onto my boat. We get an email from Robbie's saying we owed them approximately $380. No big deal, just pay it honey, wonder what that was for, do they bill weekly rent. In the meantime, Harbor wants to talk finally and they hand me a quote for $117, 000. They ran with the most expensive items and glazed over some items I wanted. They completely ignored specific requests. There's no way I'm paying this amount. I went back to the Internet and I priced everything on their list and found out that they were charging me 22% in some cases over retail and then a couple items 33% over retail. Back to the bilge issue, Unannounced to me or my wife, they submitted a bill to Robbies Marina for $3800. And that we were responsible for 10% over that to go to Robbies Marina to the tune to $380. Harbor Marine did not give me an invoice or anything at the time. I guess they figured that if they were going to charge me that amount of money to pump out one bilge and leave the other bilge full, let's not say anything until we present this quote. In that quote, at my request, I wanted a solar arch put on the back of my boat. In conversation, they said it would be approximately $10-$12,000. My response, is that installed, of course. After the quote was denied, the solar arch jumped from $12,000-$18,000 and that would not cover installation. At this point, our relationship is turning into an adversarial one. It was all about extracting as much as they could get. Come time to leave Robbie's Marina they refuse to make my boat whole again, suggested I call a rigger to reconnect my standing rigging.
