The pictures we have say it all. Cold joints. Roll marks. Uneven bump and patch. The job done on our driveway is horrible and the company won't honor the advertised warranty. The office manager and project manager came out soon after the job was completed and they agreed it was not up to par. The owner finally came out months later and will not do anything to fix. We have a mess on our hands that we are very unhappy with. read more

We had Sutter come out to give us a quote. They had good communication and showed up right when they said they would. We were really disappointed at how rude he was to us, for no reason. He insinuated we wanted a cheap job and wouldn't be able to afford what he would cost before even asking us about our budget or what we wanted to spend. We ended up spending the same amount of money that he quoted us for, but with a much friendlier company. read more

Leonard has never been hired. Not even considered. My post here is one that I think people should know about Leonard if they are considering hiring him or if they own their own company because of the nature of his threats. He came in to my office just 15 minutes passed his appointed time and was cordial. My assistant attempted to assist him 10 minutes later but Leonard said he had to leave because he had other things to do. It wasn't until I was leaving that day, that I received an email for Leonard stating that he was going to extort me and my company for wasting his time and that if we didn't pay him that he'd slander it in public and sue us and that we shouldn't be stupid, but just pay him and then he would go away. I hate it because I see all the good things people have said about Sutter Paving on Angie's list and only a few bad. I expressed to him that I felt threatened and needed to have my people look at it before I would do anything forward. I just don't want anyone else to have to experience threats like this. Its just not right and some of the things in his email were not true, but he threatened us with it anyway and told me not to be stupid, that it was "just a slap on the wrist" and we should be thankful. He said we wasted his time and deserves the compensation for wasting his time. Don't let him threaten you! read more

Leonard at Sutter Paving and his team did a fantastic job on topping our dirt road that services 30 families. The surface was well laid and compressed including a very difficult hill section. His team was professional and courteous and assured very little disruption to the daily traffic flow. Great job guys !! read more

they were great to work with until a problem developed, now they tell me there isn't a problem (I'm not imaging the cracks that have developed), and because it was in their words "a small job", they wiill not stand by their warranty. Had Sutter do my driveway, and while theirs wasn't the lowest bid, they were the only company that wasn't giving off warning signs of flakiness. The driveway turned out great and they did it very quickly, by throwing a huge team of guys at it instead of dragging the project out by doing it one step at a time, which has been an issue for some of my neighbors. Sometimes you can judge a company better when things don't go as planned. I have been in Customer Support for over 20 years so I have a pretty good handle on how to take care of clients especially when things go kind of sideways. What happened was that the company made a mistake on our permitting so we had to shut down halfway through the job. Leonard made damn sure that I was taken care of and the error was corrected as soon as possible and the work completed. They did a fantastic job on my driveway and worked with the city to make sure it was done to their satisfaction and what's more is that Sutter did not pass on the extra expense to me. They stuck to their bid since it was an error on their side and made sure I was inconvenienced as little as possible. Stuff happens and character shows when things go wrong. Sutter owned the mistake and made it right. I would highly recommend them. read more
