I was a student at The Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Toronto twenty years ago (2002-2003) and…read moreenjoyed every moment of my time there. After graduating from University I still wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life but I knew nutrition and natural healthcare were important to me, especially since I'd been dealing with some health problems and getting through them with the help of dietary changes and nutritional supplementation (where conventional medicine had failed me). I did some research on educational facilities that could further my learning in this field and when I saw the curriculum offered at IHN I was very intrigued. Around that time I had a meeting with Elizabeth Papadapoulos, the school's founder/director and one of the most genuine, impressive people I've ever met. I could see that what she'd established with the IHN was not just a place of learning but a warm and welcoming place with a clear goal of making a positive difference in the world. Shortly thereafter I was given the opportunity to sit in on a class and experience the learning firsthand, which further impressed me. I've never been one to make big decisions lightly but I'd seen and heard enough to know that I wanted to be a part of this environment, and I soon enrolled at IHN feeling very good about my choice. You always hope you made the right decision when you embark on a brand new path in life but any concerns I had were put to rest my first week there learning under great teachers like Murat Vardar and Darko Prce. It really felt like being part of a vibrant and like-minded community from day one. The information I learned was life-changing and the people I met there were wonderful. Fond memories across the board. Looking back on my decision to enroll it was easily one of the best decisions I've ever made. I graduated in 2003 and have been in the nutrition field ever since. It's been a very rewarding and fulfilling career and I owe it all to my time at IHN.

Some lovely teachers but the program itself is a scam. I am over halfway done the course and I am regretting it to be honest. Just go to a respected university.

I took business program but didn't graduate it due to not liking it. There is one course I did like though, which was intro to business, the professor was amazing and she spoke a lot about how the industry works. I trusted her and I did well now, about the great things I experienced there. first, the tutoring center. I loved going there because the staff there was super friendly and I got a high mark in my English class due to their helpful suggestions and edits. I personally have severe mental disability as well as learning disability, they helped me every way they could, by offering me audiobook softwares as well extra time during tests. they did all they could for me lastly, lets talk about the free counselling. I loved it. My counsellor was carrie, I loved talking to her. she helped me from everything, from life to school. I talked with her and I was so excited everytime I saw her thats's it for my post

Then the real invoice came with a break-down of fees including the actual Tuition Fee. Spent countless hours talking to people in different departments to discover that the first invoice was not for Tuition Fees but for Health-care Coverage even though I had opted out of this. Was also told that a hefty fee for International Students was applied even though I'm a citizen of Canada. Now I'm at their mercy to get my money back. Later found out that the same thing happened to another student. Any other victims out there?

The Ashtonbee campus is the perfect venue for a ribfest. The parking lot is huge such that it hosted a bunch of food trucks and four vendors specializing in barbeque goodness. This campus is pretty. It used to be where the headquarters of Volkswagen Canada used to be. I used to pass by the old Ashtonbee campus a lot when I was practising my driving as a teenager. There was a driver's testing location on Warden, just south of Eglinton Avenue East. My dad and I felt that practising down here would make me feel comfortable and familiar with the roads, and all that practising helped! It's pretty. I love the architecture. It was pleasing to my eyes. This campus is home to automotive, some liberal arts and pre-health, and a handful of community and health studies programs. Ashtonbee campus is Centennial College's oldest property. Neat! For some reason, I feel at home dropping by campuses. Even though I was here for food, it felt good being on this campus for a brief time. (310)

The campus is under going renovations, and this campus will soon be updated; though, I wont be around for the updates.

Despite it's name Knox College is not regarded as one of the 7 UofT colleges, but it is the home…read morefor Christian ministry studies and theology studies and is a residence for students mainly studying that line of work although I have known a couple of students over the years to call Knox their home. To my knowledge, the rooms there are pretty typical of most single residence dorms but I've not heard any big negatives about it. While I have absolutely zero experience with them as an educational institution, what my review will be based on is their library (Caven Library) and the building in general. In my mind, University College, Hart House and Knox are the 3 most beautiful buildings on campus. And the numerous times I've seen Knox being transformed in to a movie set is a testimony to this (biggest movie set here as of 2011 is The Incredible Hulk). And due to it being a "Christian" place it is not a heavily trafficked building as students are probably intimidated by it's religious aura. They have one of the most beautiful spots in the entire campus in it's green and somewhat gothicy quad that so many students are unaware of. The library is also one of the prettiest and naturally quiet libraries around on campus. High ceilings and large windows makes you feel like you're studying in a church (well it might have been one back in the day) and the fact that most spots are individual tables with privacy screens is probably the main reason behind the natural unimposed silence you can enjoy here while studying. The last time I was there, power outlets were hard to come by, but that could have changed since UofT libraries have been undergoing renovations as of late. If you are sick and tired of studying at Robarts or Gerstein, Knox is a great alternative, if you are not in the mood to really check it out, use it as a scenic short cut to get between St George Street and King's College Circle.
