Wow, what an awesome brewery in good ole Pigtown! I had heard great things about this spot from my fellow Yelpers and decided to check it out. The brewery itself is located on the main road of Pigtown right off of MLK Blvd. You can definitely get lucky with street parking depending on the day but I imagine it would be a bit tricky on game days. The brewery is located inside of what used to be a cinema. You can tell by the classic bulb lights on the inside and outside of the entrance. When I walked in, I immediately noticed the crystal chandeliers and that A$AP Rocky was playing - what a great combination. I also loved the beautiful plants by the entrance. I tried a few different beers and finally landed on the Leda. It is a refreshing sour that sort of has a champagne vibe to it. If you like sours, this is definitely the brewery for you. I'm a sucker for a good sour and let's just say that Suspended has tons to choose from. I love the fact that they bottle their beers in glass bottles instead of cans. You can see the contents inside and even the fermentation at the bottom of the bottle (kinda like kombucha). I'd like to come back on a day that they have a food vendor since I've heard great things about the vegan offerings. Suspended Brewing is also an inclusive space with specific signs on restrooms promising safety to folks of all gender identities. They also have a strong passion for the environment. Although they're using disposable cups right now due to Covid-19, the cups are compostable! I love a brewery with solid sours, but I love a brewery that stands for something even more. Cheers to Suspended Brewing!

Love sours? This is the first place you should go in Baltimore. Forget all those wanna-be sours at other breweries or in the store. This place has real sours, like make-you-pucker, filled-with-fruit sours. Sooo good. I could spend all my money on these beers. Pro tip? Don't bother with the other beers here, IPAs aren't what they do. Cute sitting areas, great employees, just all around a must-stop

One of their famous lambic-style brews. Dry and fruity, mildly tart. Complex and expressive yeast character.

Suspended Brewing is the hidden brewery-gem of Baltimore, and maybe all of Maryland. Suspended is probably most beloved for their lambic-style ales. Dry, fruity, sometimes tart. Always complex and extremely quality. They are a tiny operation with almost no distribution. So you have to visit to experience their brews. Suspended also makes great Pilsners, Imperial Stouts, and is now dabbling in other Belgian/Abbey-style ales! Again, everything is made is great care and has lovely appearances and vibrant flavors. Never a boring beer here. The only caution I have is that they have limited hours of operation and don't have a dedicated parking lot. So be sure to check their hours and plan your parking before you go.

The community feeling and excellent beer make this the place to go in Pigtown. I've been coming here since they opened and the owners have made me feel welcome since day one!

This is by far my favorite brewery in Baltimore. Admittedly, I haven't gone too many in the area, but all breweries from here on out have big shoes to fill. Suspended is nestled in (what I consider) a residential area of Pigtown. Parking was surprisingly easy for a Saturday afternoon--or maybe I just got lucky. I heard that it's sometimes tricky to find parking so I'd Uber if you don't want to take any chances. We found free parking on the street adjacent to Washington Blvd. Suspended was re-purposed into a brewery, so the outside and inside still have remnants of the old theater--marquee lights, the stage (which is now the brewing area), and other little retro props. It's a beautiful venue for a birthday party, wedding, reception, or get-together. The staff are phenomenal! They are attentive, friendly, and accommodating. We had the pleasure of meeting Josey who shared his immense knowledge of brewing with us. All the staff really know their stuff! Currently, their hours are limited--but understandably so, because for one they are a small brewery and don't produce the same volume as larger breweries. Hey, that's a good thing though. You know your beer is always served fresh. Beer has gluten. So you might wonder, why would someone with Celiac's even bother visiting this place? Let. me. tell. you. They offer more than just beer! They have coffee and kombucha on tap! AHHHMAZZZINGGG. My sister tried all the beers (which she said all were very good--but her favorite was the Strawberry Rhubarb), while I tried the kombucha. They serve kombucha from Hex, a local kombucha company in Baltimore, and the one they had on tap was a ginger kombucha. It was really good! And on top of that, it was only $3. WHAAAAT? Yeah, you heard me. Just $3. The beers are pretty cheap too. The tasting flights I believe are only $3 as well. If you love a beer, you can actually get a bottle to go for only $10. Mind-blowing. I don't think any other brewery can compare to their prices and hospitality. Try out Suspended! I promise you won't regret it!

Visited here for the first time today (wasn't crowded but it was Fri 4:30pm). Just wanted to shout out the amazing staff there. The outstanding, stellar service makes this place stand out to me. It also has a convenient location in a more residential part of Pigtown that's easy to find; right of S Poppleton. Wonderful decor and great space to hang out. It was a really inexpensive brewery - I was honestly surprised. Only was $2.50 for the 5oz Trilemma that I got. The staff was so attentive and sweet - they let our group of 6 each try a ton of different samples (and they gave like 1.5-2.5 oz per sample...wow) since we we were unsure of what to get. Without us asking, they also brought a dog bowl with water for my friend's dog and said "Everyone drinks here," like can they be any more thoughtful?!! We also went up and asked for some water. After filling 3 glasses, they came to our table without asking and brought us a huge bottle of water in case we wanted more. Ironically, I'm not really someone who loves beers and drinks it often, so I don't really feel qualified to comment on the quality. I liked the trilemma enough and the many beers I sampled. Seemed like they had a good selection of interesting beers, including a lot of option for sours. They had a coffee lager, which tasted interesting. Just be wary that like most breweries, their selection of beers switches out so if you see a menu image or someone's review about a specific beer, they may not hve it. They didn't have ciders or kombucha today (Friday 4pm). I will say I had heard that this place had board games, but was disappointed to find out that they didn't. Just wanted to put that out there in case anyone else was also expecting the same.

Good sized pour for a flight!

I lived in Pigtown for 4 years and was extremely excited to get a brewery that was just a block away from my house. My roommate and I have visited this brewery a lot and are very supportive of them. The service here is impeccable, I haven't meet anyone I haven't liked. They are all really helpful. At least one of owners/brewers has always been there when I've gone. The others working there are usually their friends. Everyone has been very knowledgable and honest when it comes to deciding what to drink. There is a great variety of beers. I usually get a flight to start because they are always brewing something new and I am never disappointed. Their flight pours are also a good size so you don't feel like you're only getting a few sips worth. So I highly recommend getting a flight so you can try them all. They not only brew beer, they also have kombucha, cold brew and, newly during COVID, cocktails. I have only tried their kombucha and I have to say, as a picky kombucha drinker and I was impressed. Due to the location, they don't have outdoor seating BUT the interior is very spacious and I have never had trouble finding a spot to stand/sit by the bar or at a table. Their interior is has a cool vibe. They feature local art, have fresh flowers/plants on the tables and lots of wood and metal aspects. They are also pet friendly! They also don't have their own kitchen but they often have pop-up kitchens, that are usually vegetarian or vegan, which is so interesting and whenever I've tried the food, it's been sooo good! Tip: If you don't feel like you want a flight and don't want to risk ordering a full-sized beer you might not like, you can always ask for a taste. They are always willing to let you try before you buy. COVID: The brewery has been closed but they have been offering Saturday pickups; walk-ins and pre-orders. Their beers go fast so I would recommend pre-ordering. Follow them on Instagram, @suspendedbrewing so you can stay up to date with what they are doing.

Not even a beer lover but I do like the vibe the Suspended has going on. They take their craft very seriously and they are very knowledgeable about everything that they pour. The owners are so nice and gracious and they will answer any questions that you may have and they can steer you to the best options on tap depending on your likes and dislikes The inside is great with the bar in the middle and all the brewing equipment in the back you can take a peak at the process behind the making of the beer they served. Great place to try some new flavor profiles and enjoy the chill atmosphere

Wait: None. Server: Everyone who spoke with us were super nice. Warm and inviting people for sure. Food Quality& Order: My friend grabbed a Sour Persian I believe! They didn't have any alcohol for me because I have Celiac. I wasn't in the mood for Kombucha but may go back to try it. Atmosphere& Decor: I could not stop looking around! I was obsessed with the decor. It went together but was also unique and different. I love wooden anything so I was obsessed. I've been wanting to come here since Summer 2018.

Sample tasting! From left to right: two lagers, hard cider, stout

PSA: THEY ALLOW DOGS. My alma mater hosted an alumni event at Suspended. There was a decent amount of people by the time my friends and I showed up. We each received a free drink ticket and headed straight towards the bar. Disclaimer: beer is not my first choice when it comes to alcoholic beverages but I was very impressed by the service. The female bartender asked what we wanted and my friend told her that I'm not a beer person. She immediately wanted to change my mind and offered to give me samples; I basically received an entire flight. There were a couple lagers, a stout, and a hard cider. Even though there were people waiting to order drinks, she took the time to explain each beer and their respective flavor profile. I ended up ordering a 16. oz hard cider. Still am not a beer person (or at least not yet) but I would definitely recommend checking it out. Feel free to bring your dog as well! It's a cashless establishment so no need to worry about carrying change around while you're in the city. Also, there's an Ekiben inside that has vegan options that'll pair well with your drink.

This is an awesome small brewery with a huge heart. The beers are excellent and the owners are passionate about their craft and the integrity of their products and the way they treat all who enter. This establishment is about as environmentally and ethically friendly as possible. The space has a cool vibe with local art and artisans contributing to the space. Along side the palpable effort to promote acceptance and love, the beer shines! One can have a good time and feel good doing it at this Pigtown Main Street brewery. They don't serve food but often have events with pop-up kitchens, often with vegan as the principal offering rather than the option. This place cares about every person who enters and what they consume while inside their establishment.

Plus, minus, equal witbier. Very much a taste of spring.
Tony C.

Suspended has perfected the mix of brewing with social conscience. The staff is genuinely interested, interesting, and pleasant. The menu of options is always well curated, delivering an experience that is excellent, no matter your ultimate choice. While I hope the business explodes with success, I only hope it can do so with the consciousness they put into their products. It is a truly wonderful experience, nestled within a classic Baltimore neighborhood.

When we arrived back at our hotel bar they were about to close and suggested we check out this place. We followed there advice and were so glad we did. Upon entry they appeared to be closng down and said they go with the number of patrons to determine their closing time. This worked out greatly as once we arrived and only two other patrons were at the bar a swarm soon followed. Our favorite bartender is Laura. I noticed a huge difference in her making my drink and the other bartenders who only ask for your order but give no suggestions, do not offer to allow you to sample something on tap, and the potency. I soon realized that I will only recommend this place to others if Laura is the bartender. There were times we wanted to try something new, she asked a few questions and handcrafted us the perfect drink. Her personality was amazing, drinks were strong, and she kept people wanting to drink and be apart of the banter. If Laura isn't there I am not going. We went two nights in a row and the second night we were there we brought with us a couple we met who were in Bmore from Cleveland for a cruise. They enjoyed the place but it was missing her personality, patrons, and the drinks weren't as handcrafted, special or potent. now for the food. This is by far a pub with the best food I have ever tasted. I ordered the fish and chips that was an amazing fleshy piece of cob hand breaded and a jambalaya that too this day I am still dreaming about with its chunks of chicken breast, sauteed small pieces of sausage and gravy like texture filled with flavor that was bold and packed a welcomed punch. My partner had some type of irish sausage dish and loved it. We will return to visit Laura this spring for our next rendevous here for sure.

We stopped by on a Friday for lunch and they posted a strong emphasis on live entertainment. A friend who frequents the area mentioned their music nights are especially popular and can draw quite a crowd. The location sits right on the waterfront, and I can imagine the sunsets here must be spectacular. Although it is conveniently located just off the main highway not far from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, traffic noise never intruded on the dining experience. Our server was in the process of training a new staff member, and both were friendly, attentive, and polite throughout the meal. Menus are provided at the table, though prices are accessed by scanning a QR code. Pricing was very reasonable, and the menu offered a nice variety of both seafood and non-seafood options. The fish sandwich can be ordered either fried or grilled. The fish tasted fresh and flavorful, and the sandwich itself was satisfying without being overly heavy. While there was no house-made sauce, the freshly made potato chips were nice and thick, crisp and a standout side. Our friends shared a burger and a basket of fried shrimp, both of which they thoroughly enjoyed. Cold drinks arrived promptly and were perfect for the warm waterfront atmosphere. There were no overly complicated dishes or unexpected twists on the menu, but everything we ordered was well prepared, generously portioned, and tasty. This is definitely a spot I would recommend if you are in the area. Don't let the daytime appearance fool you -- this place clearly comes alive once the crowd and music arrive.

My wife saw they had black bean soup and a pork special, so we decided to stay and were seated. Since our last visit about a year ago, they've made some changes. The seating has been updated, with a second bar added along with high-top tables and booths. The space looks very nice. Our server came over, took our drink order, and we asked for a bowl of the black bean soup. When he returned, my wife asked how the pork special was, and he said it was very good, so she ordered it. I ordered the cod fish and chips. When the food came out, everything looked good at first. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very greasy -- it seemed like the fries were placed on the plate to soak up the grease from the fish. My wife's pork dish was worse. She was given two slices with connective tissue running through them that were so tough she couldn't even get a fork into them. The other piece was also extremely tough and difficult to cut, and the gravy had no flavor. When our server finally came back to check on us, my wife showed him the pork. His response was simply that he would let the manager know and take it off the bill. There was no offer to replace the dish or bring her something else to eat. After that, we never saw him again. My wife eventually asked another server for tea, which a different server brought. Later, another server came by to see if we were finished. I asked how much the eggnog was, and she quoted the price for a bottle, said I just want a glass, she said I'll get you a menu I explained to another waitress I just wanted a glass. Eventually, I got it -- though I asked for it without ice, and it still came with ice. At that point, I just drank it. The best thing was the bean soup. Overall, this was not a good meal and honestly the worst experience we've had in the 10+ years we've been coming here. Between the food quality and the lack of follow-up from our server, it was very disappointing. It will be quite a while before we return.
