I really don't write reviews much. I was amazed at Andrea and Jordan's kind and helpful nature. They are a very personable team that listens and takes into consideration my ideas and do not try and push me into purchases. Another vender I approached in the Valley for Solar put together package proposals with a list of item descriptions and unit numbers and only a total price. Two pages of thing that only made since to them and units with no individual item pricing. I had no idea what I was purchasing. With Susitna Energy I believe their pricing is fair and up front. They took into account that I was trying to build my own system and even offered to help me with some programing on my own equipment bought elsewhere! Right On!! I will drive into Anchorage avoiding dealers in the Mat-Su Valley for Solar and Toyostove needs hands down! Over the course of our dealings with Susitna Energy Systems we've experienced nothing but knowledgeable and friendly staff. Our solar power install project was custom built for us, after extensive meetings and time taken by BJ and Casey Compton. They went the extra mile to sit down with us, review property photos, and discuss our energy needs and expectations. In the end, we got a working system that is paying off big time for us! Kirk and his staff have done a great job of making my off grid home in the mountains above Girdwood Alaska run just perfect. Kirk the owner flew me to his off grid home in Alaska and showed me his wind and solar as well as batteries and his generator to give me an idea of how it all fit together and how to run the systems. Kirk installed an Outback Inverter system (7K) and a 8K Northern Lights Generator with a 24 volt battery bank and Solar Panels with a 60 amp charge controller. The owner and his employees were professional and very patient with me in explaining how everything worked and even took phone calls on the weekend to help me understand the system better! I love my systems that Susitna Energy installed for me and would recommend Kirk the owner and his staff for all your off grid needs as they did a great job with my place! read more

Unprofessional, dishonest, tries to sell used parts as new. Does not really live off grid as he claims only has a cabin off grid. Undersizes systems, uses wrong electrolyte in batteries, leaves you hanging on install. Will not bid because he is not licensed, bonded, and insured, only does time and material then overbills. Charges you for him to learn on the job and build his boxes wrong. Uses hokey tools for dangerous install and expects you to help while he bills full rate. Was sued for these practices.
