I recently visited SUSHISAMBA London and it was such a fun experience. The restaurant has a really energetic atmosphere and the design is beautiful -- it definitely feels like a place for a special dinner or a night out with friends. The concept of mixing Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian flavors is really unique and you can see it throughout the menu. The sushi was very fresh and well presented, and the small plates were great for sharing. I especially enjoyed the creative combinations and the attention to detail in the dishes. The cocktails were also excellent and very well balanced. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed. Overall, it's definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience make it worth it for a special occasion or a fun night out. read more

We felt so fortunate to be invited to Sushisamba. The private room was stunning, and the views took our breath away! Every dish we enjoyed was delicious--except for the ahi Amarillo rice, which didn't have much flavor but looked fantastic. The highlight of the night was the black cod; it was perfectly tender and full of flavor. The service truly made us feel special, with my plate always cleared and my wine glass never going empty. Sushisamba London is my first introduction to this brand which is also now in the States residing in Vegas and LA. Staying nearby at the Canopy, my partner and I came across a line in front of an elevator that was facing the exterior of the building. Me being the nosey person I can be, I went up and discovered that many floors above is a restaurant/club. We waited for about ten minutes to go up and sure enough was it a sight to behold. With multiple rooms to explore, vibes in every corner, and just this swank feel -- it was how we wanted to spend the night. The outdoor patio with the large tree with a bar built around it was stunning. I feel like dinner here comes with a show with the ensemble dressed up walking around. Having always enjoyed many dining experiences in their Las Vegas location, my family and I were looking forward to the SushiSamba sister location in London @ Broadgate. Unfortunately, it was rather inconsistent execution in both the front and back of house. We waited ten minutes at the table without someone present. After pointedly looking around the dining room for anyone to come by, someone finally asked if we'd been helped. He was not particularly friendly and did not apologize for the wait, but did help us place our order and mentioned that food would arrive as it was prepared. Food service was prompt after that with robata items coming out quickly (~6 minutes after ordering), followed by the arrival of salad immediately after finishing the robata. Our shared large plate came out shortly afterwards, but they did miss serving the second bowl of rice that we had initially ordered. As for specific dishes, only one was fully balanced and the others had good elements but also missing parts to complete their respective flavor profiles. Robata - Duck Breast - Duck was tender and well cooked with nice textural contrast from crushed macadamia nuts - Tamarind sauce was sweet and very flavorful - Accompanying hominy was prepared very well - Seasonal offering Robata - Sweet Corn with Jalapeño Butter & Lime - American corn seems generally sweeter with more plump kernels - Too lightly buttered and minimal to no jalapeño notes Large Plate - Mushroom Tobanyaki - Unexpectedly butter forward, even with yuzu soy and truffle ingredients - Missing yuzu flavor to balance the butter - Truffle was so minimal that it was essentially not noticeable - Quite disappointing, as this is a menu staple at their Las Vegas location that is typically bursting with flavor complexity Salad - Green - Flavorful sesame dressing - Lightly salted wakame tempura provided great crunch and textural contrast - Dressing distribution was imbalanced Mocktail - Lychee Lemongrass Collins - Sweet and refreshing - Light, spicy finish from chilis Overall, it was a disappointing dining event when there are so many great options in the city and compared to another location within the chain. The biggest disappointment was the food. The sushi rice was cold and hard, more like grocery store sushi than freshly made sushi. The guacamole was also served freezing cold, as if it had been prepared well in advance. Throughout the meal, dirty plates were piled up right next to our table instead of being cleared. The fish was so fresh that I thought I was eating in Hawaii and not London! The spicy tuna and the spicy crab were our favorites. The drinks were strong and very well made - especially the espresso martini. We had a beautiful view by the window, which was so nice because they got us a really wonderful table even when they were very busy. Ambiance and service were impeccable. This restaurant is beautifully decorated on the top floor of a tall building near Liverpool St. tube station. The waiter recommended to order 2-3 dishes per person to share. They had a little bit of everything on the menu so it was easy to order many dishes however, I felt the restaurant was overpriced (or maybe that's just the economy right now). The drinks were good but easily priced at £15+ each. The sushi roll we ordered was really good and recommended by our waiter. The yellowtail was fresh and our steak platter was cooked to perfection. We ordered the corn and steamed rice as a side and could have easily passed on the corn. I think this would be a great place to grab a drink and an app to pregame. I tried booking a reservation on a Friday night but clearly I'm not a local because this placed was packed and the reservation needed booking in advance! I was finally able to book a reservation for that following Monday. I ordered the green bean tempura, the Samba London roll, the chicken teriyaki and the lychee cooler drink. I loved everything! The chicken teriyaki was my favorite. It was cooked to perfection and tasted so good! I think after eating the green bean tempura, I realized I'm not a fan of eating foods that are prepped/cooked this way. The views, omg they were amazing. I believe I was on the 40th floor! The scene at Sushisamba is great for people watching, meeting up with friends, a date night, or just an excuse to get dressed up. The service was middling. We were seated quickly but we had about 3 different servers, we never knew who to order from, and our drinks and plates sat empty for much longer than expected. The food was...good, not great. Maybe we're spoiled living in Vegas, but I've had much better sushi in many other places for half the price. I get that I'm paying for the view and the vibe, but the food didn't stand up to either of those. The concepts were great but the execution was just okay. I did love the little dropper of soy/yuzu/other sauce they inserted into one of our rolls (again, great presentation). I was prepared to be really impressed but I wasn't..I felt like the views here were a bit obstructed, and the fake tree by the bar (fake orange leaves) was cool and all but didn't make up for everything else. The outside bar area was quite small and not my favorite cocktail bar around. The drinks were really expensive also at 17 pounds per cocktail, but at least the lychee one did taste really good. Absolutely amazing!! We are visiting from the states and we were blown away by the service, food and ambience. The drinks were delicious, highly recommend the wasabi margarita. I was hesitant at first with it having wasabi in it but it was perfect, slightest bit of spice but delicious. I typically don't eat ribs, however I highly recommend the pork ribs. Gorgeous restaurant interior and aerial views of London, but that's about it. Plates are in tapas style with the recommendation of 5-7 dishes shared between two people. For its expensive price, the dishes were mostly subpar, especially the sushi. ----- Samba London Roll: tuna, salmon, hamachi, avocado, asparagus, onion, hishiho miso, crispy yuba, yuzu dressing (£19). A disappointing sushi roll with obviously frozen fish and rice that was borderline dry. ----- Nigiri Omakase: 7 pieces of nigiri (£30). The fish met a passing enough grade that it was hard to tell whether it was fresh or frozen. Nigiri pieces were small with loosely rice packed similar to the other roll. Certainly not worth its price either. ----- Mushroom Tobanyaki: poached egg, assorted mushrooms, yuzu soy, garlic chips (£19). Mushrooms were tender and the egg yolk was runny. The pot had a nice presentation and was savory without being too salty. ----- Wagyu Gyoza: kabocha puree and sweet soy (£20). Quality of the beef was decent, and I particularly liked the juices trapped inside the crispy dumpling wrappers. The small plate came with a set of five. ----- We had a Sunday reservation at 5:30 PM that required a £40 deposit for the two of us. From previous reviews of people being turned away due to their attire, we followed a smart casual dress code. The booking advised arriving five minutes prior to ride the elevator up to the 39th floor of the Heron Tower, where the entrance to the restaurant is located. Guest Wi-Fi is offered but was not working due to an IP configuration failure. A 13.5% service charge was added to the bill despite there practically being no service. I had originally planned on ordering dessert, but my patience ran out as no server came by fifteen minutes after we had cleared our dishes. Our glass of water was never refilled either. Eventually I managed to flag somebody down and requested the bill, but unsurprisingly, that never came. In the end, we left our seats and requested to directly pay at a counter. read more

My first time at Sushi Samba and the ambience is beautiful! The rooftop view is great but not as much as the dining area. But our waiter Louis was very kind and went over the menu with us. We had ordered two appetizers and 4 different rolls. Louis make excellent suggestions! And the cocktails we ordered were AMAZING! I was disappointed that they did not have the welcome to the rainforest available since they have a prefix with a new dessert and did not have the ingredients to make the other dessert. Lots to cover, little space. Itemized: Aesthetic - Amazing. Bamboo/wood accents contrast a black and white motif. The fusion theme is done in the most classy way possible, with only the music in the bar being the slightest bit tacky. The city view is obviously amazing, and makes the time fly. All plating is exceptional without being pretentious. Price - Suprisingly affordable. I mean, not the meal I ordered (hehe), but a fantastic app will cost £7 or so, and the mains are proportionate, as are the desserts. Drink - The drink menu is extensive, espescially if you like whisk[e]y, sake, or wine. Suprisingly short gin list, for London, but I didn't miss it. Green Bean Tempura - Unbelievable. I was worried the truffle aioli would overpower the other flavors. This was not the case. The dip was in perfect harmony with the veggies, the tempura was super crisp and perfectly seasoned, but exactly as thin as you would hope, considering how amazingly fresh the green beans were. I *must* recommend this app if you visit. Kobe Ishiyaki (120g) - Exceptional. There's plenty of description of Kobe online, so rather than repeat that, I'll confirm it. This meat has exactly the texture everyone describes. It's not as beefy as you'd expect, but that ends up being a good thing, considering how obviously rich it is. The yuzu cooking oil complements the natural flavors of the meat very well, and the orange "spicy sauce" has a super subtle umami flavor that augments the natural depth of the beef and pulls out subtleties you otherwise wouldn't notice. The brown "barbeque" sauce is delicious, but a mistake. It overwhelms the kobe. It would be great for a similar dish made of, say, Angus beef, but stifles the subtelty of kobe. If you are serious about beef (even if you just love a good burger), this is not an experience to be missed if it's within your means. Zen Garden - Genuinely indescribable. I will try, but it's hard to capture. This dessert, charmingly presented as a zen garden complete with wooden rake, includes two to three solid white chocolate "stones", two lychee-filled white chocolate truffle "stones", "sand" which is hard to describe as anything but bready vanilla pop rocks, tea biscuits, and yuzu-flavoured cream. It's sort of like a creme brulee, but rather than a brulee top, there's those vanilla pop rocks. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience of dining at SUSHISAMBA, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to treat themself, impress a lover, or celebrate with their employees. read more

Had an amazing night with my girlfriend at sushi samba restaurant and the samba room. For the restaurant I was served by Anita who was attentive, thoughtful and accommodating for us. She offered great customer service and gave us a great experience. It was the best fine dining experience I've had in a long time. The Samba room was also a great experience, amazing ambiance and very comfortable. Service was a disaster - didn't deliver one dish then waitress kept looking at her watch and reminding us that we only had 90minutes (we had loads of time and finished our meal in easily less than that).
