Spicy Tuna Roll

Sushi Yama is always consistent and my sushi roll taste fresh, which is the most important thing to me. The Gyoza was cooked perfectly. I ordered it pan fried and the sauce was super yummy. They have quite a large menu so there's something for everyone there.

The absolute best Japanese restaurant in downtown W. Palm Beach. Everything is delicious. The service is great, too. Their happy hour is the best. I love it here and go all the time.

Let's eat!

Went during their happy hour and got a few rolls. Food came out fast and I really liked the Mexican Roll.

The inside is cute. You can also sit outside on Clematis street if you prefer. They have a daily happy hour so you can get sushi and apps for pretty cheap! But, I've definitely had better sushi - it didn't taste that fresh to me. Service was quick.

My favorite lunch spot

This is my favorite go-to lunch spot. I visit at least twice a week and usually choose from two food items on rotation. I either get the duck noodle soup or the poke, which has a choice of protein: shrimp, grilled chicken, chicken katsu, tuna, salmon, or yellowtail. The vegetables in the poke are always vibrant and fresh, while the duck noodle soup is always piping hot, with the broth's flavors perfectly balanced. Both entrees are consistent every time I order. I've been there so often that the staff now asks me, "Which one today, duck noodle soup or poke?"

Stopped in here because we were in Downtown Clematis and we were hungry. Looking at the menu, it's just a traditional sushi place so you know what you're getting. I was quite hungry and I was feeling some sashimi so I ordered the combo for one. There were two to chose from, one that comes with rice and one with seaweed salad. I ordered the one with the seaweed salad for $1 more but still got the one with the rice. Service here is pretty bad. Our waitress didn't speak English and it was really hard to get her attention to order. We should have known when we sat down to a nearly empty restaurant on a Friday night at dinner time. If I was craving sushi next time I'm in the area, I'd try somewhere else

Always amazing and attentive service! Food is delicious,…read morebeautiful presentation. The toro roll is my absolute favorite, fresh and simple, it's perfect. The deep fried roll was delicious and not oily but still crispy. The crispy rice is also one of my favorites. The restaurant is small and quaint, low lighting perfect for a date. I had a work trip in Palm Beach this past weekend and worked long days Friday and Saturday. By the…read moretime Saturday night rolled around, I decided I was taking myself out to celebrate surviving the chaos. After a quick Yelp search and a TikTok deep dive to confirm the vibes, I found the spot. I walked in around 6 pm for an early dinner and grabbed an open seat at the bar. I was immediately greeted by the two guys behind the bar who were so welcoming and brought me a complimentary cucumber salad to start. It was fresh and tangy and honestly the perfect reset after a long day. Of course I ordered a lychee martini right away. They make sake-tinis here so they are actually made with sake instead of vodka and it was so freaking good. Slightly sweet, super smooth and definitely on the stronger side in the BEST way. I started with the yellowtail with serrano. The fish was insanely fresh and buttery!! The serrano gave it just the right amount of heat without overpowering it. I also ordered a few pieces of nigiri which came in pairs: yellowtail, tuna belly, and salmon. Every single one just melted in my mouth. You could really taste the quality. I tried the salmon and avocado hand roll too and this was one of my favorite bites of the night. The salmon was so silky and the avocado perfectly creamy. The seaweed had that fresh snap to it...I love that it adds a little texture and saltiness that balances everything out. Handrolls are so simple but so satisfying!! At one point I saw them making crispy tuna rice in front of me and immediately had to order it. Literally the best crispy tuna rice I've ever had. The rice was perfectly golden and crunchy on the outside but still soft inside, topped with spicy tuna that was fresh, flavorful and the perfect spice level. For dessert, the guys behind the bar suggested the donut balls and I'm so glad they did. Warm, fluffy little rounds coated in cinnamon sugar with icing on the side for dipping. They were BEYOND! What really made the night though was the atmosphere. So many regulars coming in and out, all greeted warmly by the owner, who was working nonstop behind the sushi bar the entire time. There was such a strong neighborhood feel. Even the guests seemed to know each other. They even had live music playing outside. It was a whole vibe! I left completely full and a little tipsy off my two martinis, smiling to myself. One of the best meals I've had in a while. This place is special.

We had spent some time at the bar first and closed out our tabs before moving. When we got to the table, everyone was moving so slow. We were told that they didn't have sushi. Our order was quick to know. The staff took forever to get our orders. When we finally had a chance to try our food, the lobster that my friend and I had ordered was over salted. It wasn't edible at all. Again, it took forever to flag someone down but finally a manager came over and we both tried to tell him. He told us we could either get a new one cooked up in the back or he could take it off our check. Everything else was cooked just fine! It wasn't a great experience especially due to the service so I won't be returning.

DO NOT COME HERE FOR BIRTHDAYS. I was honestly so sad about the whole situation.. I've always loved Saitos, I came here for my 24th birthday, we told them it was my birthday nobody even acknowledged it. The hibachi chef looked tired. And I'm not saying that to be mean but honestly if you don't take pride and love your job why are you there? It was kind of sad in my opinion. No positive energy..just a sad hibachi chef.. The biggest kicker was the amount of meat they gave us. If you look at my previous reviews you'll see the difference I CAN NOT BELIEVE I paid that much for not even a quarter or a pound of NY STRIP (I'm a butcher and can accurately assume the weigh of steaks within the half pound by looking at them I've been doing it long enough to know..) I got scallops the chef didn't cook them long enough despite me asking him to put them back into the grill, they were translucent on the inside they were definitely undercooked and that is a huge no no- especially for seafood I ordered extra fried rice and got charged for it, for the hibachi chef to give it to a boy sitting at my table I literally couldn't believe it. The veggies were badly cooked they were all super hard and raw.. LITERALLY RAW with one side seared They definitely cut back on the amount of mushrooms and scallions they put in your clear soup, which was disappointing All in all I really think last night was the last time I visit, I'm extremely disappointed although wait staff was very attentive which was great, it's just not worth it anymore After loving Saitos for a good 6 years unfortunately they fell off. thank you Saitos for all of the good times. -sincerely a loyal customer that is extremely disappointed in your new service/portion standards.
