It was good sushi. The rolls were a lot bigger than we have seen at other sushi places. We got seated right away.

First time here; just didn't want another freakin' hamburger and saw the three rolls for $9.99 sign. It's a little misleading because the rolls are half-sized but what's brilliant is can choose other things for your three. I chose edamame, dragon roll & sweet California roll (I think that was the name) and I added on miso soup for only$1.50. I loved the California role with the sweet chili sauce on top, that was my favorite. Even the diet coke was good. I also liked the atmosphere. My favorite sushi place is Yi Sushi Bistro in Murray but this place is SOOO much cleaner with stained concrete floors new booths, tables, gorgeous mural and music. I hope they never let the tacky creep in. There were some pictures of food hung around the restaurant...I hope they get a digital billboard or alternative. And please no TVs!!! I came here because it is new, and also a little bit because I missed the sushi place that used to be here, and this is definitely far and away one of the best sushi places in the area. They have many, many options and the ingredients are high quality. Try their Tasty Combo, you get to pick three items so you can get a good feel for their food. They also offer other entree options, such as bulgogi and tonkatsu. If you enjoy Japanese and Korean food, this might be your new favorite place! There are also many great dessert options! This was truly a surprise. Even though the ratings were high, I was biased and was not expecting to like Sushi Up. I'm glad I decided to try it and proven wrong. It is not the best sushi in town but it is quite good. Not too much rice, good tasting sashimi, and fresh veggies. Service was efficient and friendly. The restaurant looks nice. My one daughter really liked the mural on one wall and the other fell in love with the sushi clock--I may have to get one for her for Christmas. We got take out from here and will never go anywhere else for Sushi! 3 AMAZING rolls for $12? That's can't be beat. These guys are authentic and so flavorful. They have tons of options. There's something for everyone. Our favorite was the Monkey Brain roll (no, it doesn't have literal monkey brains ). The sunshine roll was refreshing and super lemon-y. We also tried the happy roll, California crunchy, and one that was wrapped in fried egg. Their egg rolls and dumpling are also worth mentioning. They have earned our loyalty! read more

Wow we were just blown away by this place. 3 rolls for 12 dollars and excellent quality. We had a California roll, Monkey Brain, sunshine roll, their pot stickers, egg rolls, and their California crunchy and all were excellent quality and their price was amazing for the quality. Absolutely nasty sushi. Asked for their most popular rolls and were completely unsatisfied and spent a fortune on it.

I was going to start this review by saying something along the lines of "how do you know when you have too many sushi places? You get spots like this" but then considered that was too harsh. They try really hard here, don't always hit it, but there is considerable effort, even though much of it is touch and go, such as the paper prints of dishes hanging above the sushi chef's areas... This place is aiming at a couple things. The first is fast, so that means a lot of rolls are pre-made and sitting there, just waiting for you, in plastic. Second, they are clearly adopting the Applebee's/Chili's motif of choosing various dishes for a set price. There is a laundry list of stuff you can choose on their 3 for $10 thing, but as a few other reviewers have noted, the sushi is not generally worth getting. I had a number of things and the squid salad and the sesame balls were probably the best of them, though not anywhere near the best I've ever had for either. Calamari came out with the flavoring in the (not tempura) breading and no dipping sauce at all. Musubi came out in a very Japanese style, which is exactly the opposite of what it should be. Taste was ok, but something that sloppy is not a good thing to serve as a whole piece. I also wish they could combine the seaweed salad with the squid salad, but I guess I could just order 1 of each and combine them. As to the sushi, it wasn't outright bad, but in no way will I consider getting it again. Rice was hard and chewy, nearly stale in texture and taste. Fish is clearly not of the fresh variety, hence why you see such a multitude of fusion choices. Cover it in sauce or cook it? You betcha. Does it work? Ehhhhh. It probably matters what time you come in on that. Green tea was also a total miss. Food was overall just ok. I like the idea of being able to choose from a variety of dishes for a set price, which is smart and I like their overall effort, but the food quality was just not there for me, on any of the dishes. I'm going to give them the push on this, but realistically, this is more of a sub-3 experience... read more

Super impressed! I rarely deviate from my trusted sushi spots, but a group of us went and took a chance on Sushi Up...and it was great! 3 rolls at $9.99 is a pretty solid deal. Granted, most rolls are four pieces when I'm used to 5-6 piece rolls, but this way we were able to try multiple rolls and not feel bloated. I got 6 rolls, feel very comfortably full, and loved everything I ate. Gotta strongly recommend the Frontier, the happy, and the Sakura. Seriously good. The Oregon is also incredibly good to balance other, more decorated rolls with. Very clean and minimal, but a good full taste. Service was also top notch, and the sushi came out crazy fast. The hostess/waitress that greeted us could not have been nicer. She had a smile on her face and just made us feel welcomed. The menu was great the first two pages were all sushi rolls- choice of any 3 types of rolls for $9.99. We ended up getting 3 rolls and the bento box which was $13.50. The bento box was amazing- came with miso soup, 8 California rolls, a cucumber salad, tempora vegetables, gyoza, huge amount of rice and teriyaki chicken (you choose between beef or chicken). It was so, so good. Before we even finished our meal we decided we would be back again soon. I ordered a soda and it was refilled before I even drank half of it.
