Was craving sushi and decided to stop somewhere close by. The decor was nice, but not well kept. A little bit of tidying up and dusting would help. The staff are a little aloof and I feel like are always looking to us with a blank stare even after we asked for napkins and to add to our order. Sushi restaurants by colleges are known to be affordable and decent. I ordered a few rolls and none of them stood out. They were decently good. The fish were fresh, the rolls I felt had a little too much rice. What threw me off, were the plates our sushi was served on, as one of them looked like crusted avocado was never washed off of it properly. I'm assuming this place attracts the younger crowd, as it was busy when I was there with what I assume are probably college kids. If you're used to serving that type of demographic then I can see why the standard here isn't too high. read more

Came here with coworkers during our lunch break and we were surprised it was empty. Nobody else came in while we ate here. Ambiance and setting is really nice. Service was good. But food was meh. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and asked for an egg and extra meat. Instead of extra tonkotsu meat, I got extra chewy beef on the side. Noodles were over cooked, and broth flavor was a bit bland; so was the pork. As a ramen enthusiast this was definitely not the best but also not the worst I've had. My coworkers shared some sushi with me and we both ended up having a stomach ache about 2 hours later. Don't know if I'd recommend this place. It has potential if they just tried their own food maybe they would make it better. read more

This is hands down the best sushi place. I've have been coming here since 2018. My husband has been coming here longer. Our daughter was born in 2020 and when she started eating, this also became her favorite place. When my family visits us they also request Sushi Tomo. We've also brought our church missionaries here for dinner and they were amazed at the variety of rolls and appetizers. I'm not embarrassed to say that sometimes we are there 2x a week and sometimes even for a quick mom/daughter lunch. Food is amazing! Staff is attentive and very pleasant and ambiance is also ways inviting and comfortable. read more

I would give 0 stars. I came at 8:40 and they close at 9:30. I asked at 9 if I could get another hand roll and one of the workers said no that they wouldn't be able to get it to me within 20 minutes. There was only one other table it was empty. They whispered last call and I made eye contact with him and he looked away. Our waiter never came back to ask how food was or if we would like to order more. I don't recommend coming here the service is awful. On top of everything they got my order wrong. read more

Went in for some sushi last night at like 7pm with my girlfriend , we were really craving sushi , so we walked in and weren't greeted or anything we stood there standing for a good 10min before someone said "oh do you guys want to dine in ?" And we said yes , he cleaned off a table like 4-5 min later and we sat and no menu was handed to us... they don't have like a QR code so my girlfriend and I were just sitting there .... Another 10min go by and nothing ... no server nothing not even a menu ... the owner didn't even seem to care either ...we just wanted some sushi but ended up walking out after wasting a good 30min of my night . came for great reviews and good food. when my friend and i got there no one was in the front so we approached the register, 2/18 probably around 7:30-8. the kid at the customer was very rude, asked us if it was dining in or picking up. we said we wanted to eat there. he takes a look around and says "we're so packed today it might be a wait", and proceeds to finish whatever he was doing. there were plenty of booths and tables with dirty plates so my friend and I said, maybe he's just working alone? we're in customer service let's cut him some slack. No, then he comes back and i ask well "how long? its the wait for two" and goes 'mmmm probably around 35-40 minutes, are you sure you want to wait?' by then i knew why he was asking, you dont ask that unless you DONT want to sit people down. we proceed to say yes we'll wait because if we order out it'll be the same wait for the food. he immediately sits us down and says ill clean a table for you. huh???? i thought it was a 40 minute wait. from then food was a good 7/10, great sushi, ramen was Shin Ramen from the packaging for sure but not bad. He didn't give us utensils and seems really unenthusiastic to help out, which we could understand had the first instance not happened. horrible service. read more

Wow... where do I even begin? The shortfalls were numerous and alarming. From the server coming straight inside after smoking a cigarette and not bothering to wash his hands, to waiting over 5 minutes without even being acknowledged to place an order. After waiting 20 minutes for just two sushi rolls, I had to ask the server to cancel my order. His response was, "Okay, no problem, come back next time when we're not busy." Sushi Tomo is a small sushi spot tucked away on university, the restaurant itself is quaint and has a good range of seating and dining options. I was sat upon entering and served by Jose, he was very kind and attentive throughout the entire dining process. The sushi itself wasn't bad I ordered the crunch roll as well as the crazy boy roll and everything came out fine. Will definitely be returning if not only for the amazing service Jose provided. read more

My father and I came here for a quick bite. There was no wait and we were greeted immediately. The atmosphere was clean and decors was tasteful. We both had a combo plate and both were amazing. Our Server; Paul was very attentive and his demeanor was warm and inviting. The chef prepared our meal in a timely manner he had a rainbow sushi combo that came with side of daikon salad. I had the salmon Nagiri combo with spicy Tuna roll . It also included miso soup which was very hearty and delicious. The chef did great with preparing our food as well finishing at a timely manner. The rolls were ... ehh.. okay.. we did the "all you can eat" and we had 8 pieces left. The man charged us $20 extra dollars... uhm... no one full roll is even 20 dollars! This place was amazing over 10 years ago I took the woman of my dreams here and had her try a roll for the first time. She loved it and I fell in love with her! I went back a few weeks ago and the food was even better, the place was clean, the employees were friendly and greeted us as we came in and left. Excited to come back for a date night. Overall it's a great place the food was delicious. Only down side, would be the parking situation kind of sucks but a minor issue for such great service and good! read more

Tomo Sushi is great! I always do takeout. I call the order in and it's ready very quickly! They are the one of the only restaurants I have found out here that has soft shell crab on the menu! I'm from the east coast and always had soft shell crab. I've had several different sushi rolls there that have been wonderful. The Diva roll and soft shell crab roll are excellent along with the Philly roll and Pink Lady roll. The appetizer of soft shell crab is a must every time I go! read more

The food was pretty mid. The service was pretty mid. You can tell they were trying but it just didn't work out. The server got scolded out in the open for not sitting people down fast enough so that was pretty unprofessional. The sushi rolls were good but the nigiri was alright, not the best. The ambiance in the small restaurant was warm and inviting. The food was delicious and I will come back to bring family and friends.

($18.95) The Aloha roll is a Fresh Roll and my absolute fav, actually surpassing my long standing baked lobster. this comes with spicy tuna and avocado and cucumber, although these chefs do not skimp on the tuna! it was packed full and SO good. it's topped with albacore and a jalapeño slice, and a dot of siracha. The albacore literally melts in your mouth! the rice also is the perfect amount! The Aloha roll has a fresh, juicy, decadent taste that i highly recommend! 10/10 would and will definitely order again. The Baked Lobster Roll is usually my go to at any sushi place because it's a familiar palate of mine and this is no different. This roll is deliciously prepared with crab and avocado (again, zero skimping here) and topped with lobster, masago, and green onion. my only complaint about this dish is that i couldnt really taste the green onion, but other than that it was YUMMY. 8.5/10 Next, we ordered the cucumber salad, i personally did not try it but my boyfriend did and he said it was sweet yet tangy and has vinegar in it. he gave it a 9/10 We were also given a complimentary dish, i'm not sure of the name so i apologize but it was VERY good. i would say basic as in ingredients but still very tasty :) ill insert a pic below. As well as a beautifully cut Orange that was the best palette cleanser. We were so grateful for these and loved them! The atmosphere is a college kids dream with it being a casual spot that played good music and the friendliest staff :D In total this meal was $49.86 w/o tip. with a $20 tip, it was $69.86. It's a small space. 3 tables and a few bar seats. Every time we've been we've always been given a complimentary roll by the chef. Don't sleep on their hot items. Bento boxes, tempura, and ramen are some of my favorites. If you're ever near the university and craving some sushi give this place a visit.
