That made me feel even more uncomfortable--it came across as though we were being given something to eat instead of being given a proper answer to a reasonable question. It honestly felt like, "Just take this and stop asking." We also spoke with another server, who gave us a much longer explanation, but unfortunately, it still didn't feel reasonable or convincing. There were plenty of words, but the explanation itself didn't really address our concern or make the situation make sense. At that point, it wasn't really about the extra $10 anymore. After thinking about it, I was honestly upset that I had paid around $30 including tax for such a small portion. The food here is already expensive, and we have always been willing to pay more because we genuinely enjoyed the quality. But when the portion doesn't feel worth the price and a simple question is met with such an unsatisfying response, the entire experience becomes frustrating. Unfortunately, this interaction completely killed my appetite, and I ended up eating less than half of my meal.
