The nice thing about the restaurant that I immediately recognized was that the head chef was Asian! Hooray. I'm not trying to be racist, but you know the feeling. You want ethnic foods made by the originators. The biggest surprise was that the prices were very reasonable (which is hard to come by with a Japanese restaurant). You could easily eat a dinner entree for under $10. The rolls were reasonably priced, many in the range of $5-8 each. Of course, I ate $30+ worth by myself, so I guess for a normal person, it would be a good deal. I ordered myself a beef teriyaki entree that was ok. My mom made better teriyaki to be honest. For the price (under $10), it wasn't a bad deal though. I tried out 2 rolls, but the best I had was the Jalama roll. It was a locally invented roll that had baked baked scallops in a tangy sauce above what was essentially, a California roll. Not bad at all. My biggest gripe was that the fish was not the best quality. My friend told me that he overheard other patrons complaining about the same thing, so it wasn't just me. For very reasonably priced Sushi and Japanese food in the local Lompoc area, you won't be able to beat Sushi Teri. Even though it was not the most impressive food, I can see myself going back many times. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. If you wanted to be treated with any sort of respect do not go to this place. My friend and I came in to order for take out they gave us a take out menu.. which just be the sushi rolls not what's in it or anything. Fast forward to when we get home the roll I ordered was a crunchy roll which is a common roll which has crab or shrimp but mine had tuna and salmon and it was a tempura roll not the crunchy roll and I am allergic to salmon. When I called the manager or owner whomever it was told me that it was my fault that their crunchy roll is different than everyone else's and that they would not replace my roll even tho I was allergic to it. After a couple minutes and with them hanging up on me they finally told me to come in and they'd replace it with whatever roll I wanted. So my boyfriend drove so I could eat the other things I got and he brought the roll with him and when he got in there the manager again said it was my fault while yelling at my boyfriend in the restaurant that we ordered the roll and that they wouldn't replace it and even showed my boyfriend the different types of menu's they had and keep in mind they only gave us the take out menu and their regular menu doesn't have all their rolls It doesn't say what's inside their rolls whatsoever on the take out menu. Whomever this person was really shouldn't be in customer service or hospitality if they don't care about their customers well being that much. Didn't even give us our money back for the new roll even tho it was cheaper than the original one. If the owner wasn't who I was talking to I'd really like to speak to the owner of this establishment. read more

Unfortunately, I've never eaten less flavorful sushi in my life. I've been to other Sushi Teri's in SB County and the food has been fine. The City of Lompoc seems to be quite a few steps down on everything across the board. The service was good. The food was bland. read more

Went here to get what I regularly order and today they told me that the only way to get a military discount is to be active duty. As if once you leave the service whether retired, service connected, or just served your country and are a vet you dont matter anymore lol I guess all the other times I spent money here was good but not good enough. Friendly, quick service (at least it was when I ordered take-out on a slow afternoon). Sushi is very good quality (not SF or LA quality, but hey, this is Lompoc after all), and the prices are decent. We have been eating at Sushi Teri for several years. It has always been tasty and good until recently. Last night we went there for an early dinner and noticed that the owners were re-selling bottles of Trader Joes' "Two Buck Chuck" wine on each table for $16.00+. That was odd, but so was the taste of the spicy tuna roll we ordered. The tuna didn't look really fresh, but we attributed that to whatever made it "spicy"-- Wrong! My husband and I are housebound today with all the symptoms of food poisoning. We won't be going back. read more

The food here is good, but the service we received on 25 March 2016 was terrible. Half our table received their orders in a timely manner, but the other half, which had ordered sushi rolls, waited over 45 minutes before cancelling their orders in disappointment. We watched as the people at the bar and the people around us, all of whom arrives after us, received their sushi rolls within 5-10 minutes. Our waitress avoided our table after the first 30 minutes, as it became clear that our irritation was growing, and then didn't even offer the sushi for free or take the bill down for the bad service our table had received. Let me just start out by saying that Sushi Teri used to be the best restaurant in Lompoc...not only Sushi place, but BEST place overall. The food was GREAT and consistent, and the service was spot on. That was then (old management), this is now: The only reason why we did not get up and leave, was because at least the food was okay. Not great. Okay. But the service on the other hand, was horrendous. I have seen some mismanaged places in Lompoc, but this place now takes the cake. We sat down, all was well (except for the fact that I do not like the new seating arrangement they have adopted...it feels like the table next to you is sitting in your lap). The server came over to take our order, and we were not ready yet. He came back and we said we were ready. We started telling him our order, with some questions included, and he stopped us and asked if he could come back when we knew what we needed. Got all of our food...well not all. I didn't receive my soup and salad (practically my whole meal), and I called him over. (BTW: there were two other tables sat, and 4 servers, which were all standing around doing nothing.) I asked him if my soup and salad were on the way, he glared at me, looked around on the table, and said oh I guess I forgot that. He made me feel as if he thought I was lying and I had already eaten the food and hid the dishes. grrr. He comes back, and says, "oh I didn't put in that order. Did you still want it?" I said yes of course, its my lunch. Finally, a different server brought me my soup and salad, while our server was standing at the front desk watching our every move, talking to another girl standing there, also doing nothing. We needed split tickets. The girl that had been standing at the desk our whole lunch came to bring us our tickets. She set them on the table and said, "I think these are right. I dunno. I was not the one who took your order, so if they are not right lemme know." We all looked at her stunned. Once again. They were all wrong, of course. So I called her back, mind you, our server is standing there watching the whole thing. I tell her its not right, she argues with me. I ask for her manager, and she replies, " well, I am kinda the manager." Once again stunned. I told her this was the worst service we had ever received at Sushi Teri. She responded that they know about the bad service and are trying to work on it, while pointing her head back at our server. I asked to speak to a General Manager, and she said, "well, managers cant get tips so we have no manager. I haven't seen our owner in over a week." We all looked at each other as if we were in the twilight zone. Shocked. As we were leaving, my friend told her that this was so unacceptable, and she said, "well, if I were your server that probably would not have happen." I'm sorry, but didn't you say you were the self-proclaimed kinda-mananger on duty? We left confused, angry, and still hungry, as we were terrified of ordering anymore food. We will never go back there again. I hope the owners read this and take heed. This was the slowest we have ever seen Sushi Teri, and it will get even slower if this level of customer service is tolerated. read more

I had not been to Sushi Teri in quite some time, but hubby was home and had a craving for sushi, so I went in and ordered to go. PRICEY!! But hey, new management and sometimes you want to splurge, right?? Host was very nice, said a 35 minute wait so I ran around the corner to visit family instead of waiting inside. The order was ready on time, I picked it up and drove the 20 minutes home. I set everything out, and the first thing I noticed was a fishy smell from my chiriashi bowl. I picked up a piece of salmon, and it was BAD, slimey and bad-fish smell. I didn't dare eat any of it, as all the pieces were layered and touching everything. The other rolls included salmon, and they were smelly too. Hubby said nope, not eating this, and 60 dollars in the trash, NOT happy. I called Sushi Teri, and I was told they were busy during dinner rush, and I would get a call back. No call. I called the next day, was told to leave a message and the manager would call me back. No call, then or ever. I will NEVER eat at Sushi Teri again, and highly discourage anyone who would consider eating there. read more

Went there tonight with my girlfriend . We first encountered a smart ass waitress. When she was asked by my girlfriend what's the size difference between a small sake and a large, the smart ass server said small and large. She wasn't even friendly and never came once to see how we're doing. Then came our rolls red dragon was good but the white dragon was awful. The albacore was brown and not fresh. Mmm... Sushi Teri you were delicious! I had heard some pretty good things about Sushi Teri from some discerning sushi eaters from Seattle (thanks Inna B!) so we decided it was high time to give sushi a try in Lompoc. I feel that we were served very tasty food at reasonable prices and the portions were larger than I was anticipating (a good thing, as long as you don't over order like we did). I ordered the Sashimi combo that included miso, white rice and salad as well as a huge plate full of sashimi- all for a reasonable price of $16.95. My sashimi platter had about 12 generous cuts of fish and everything was fresh and tasty. I also ordered the dragon roll, which was really good, but completely unnecessary, due to the portions of the sashimi platter. My husband ordered the godzilla roll and the teriyaki beef and felt that the portions were plentiful and very tasty. All in all, we got out of there for about $55 and that included a beer for me. Could have gotten out for probably closer to $35 had we been aware of their portion sizes. All in all, a good experience and we'll be back again! read more

We there couple nights ago. Had the grilled Salmon dinner with California rolls. Only our waitress abandoned us and another waitress got us half our meal. No pre course of California rolls. Later she appears after I got the cashier to get some California rolls as we finished our meal. She politely asked if she could doggie bag them for us. Great idea and then forgot to do it. When I said she abandoned us and did a poor job she could have cared less. At least we did eat. Better than Sushi Teri in Goleta where we did not even get served. read more

First off let me say that I love sushi Teri and I've never been disappointed until tonight. Service was good and the waitresses were excellent. One of the waitresses recommended that I try a certain roll and I did. Me and the hubby didn't like it and let her know right away. She came and said okay I'm sorry we won't charge you for this. So as we're finishing up the man that handles the register came to my table and told me do not do that again because you've wasted the roll and nobody's goin to eat it. I said excuse me she suggested I get this roll and we both didn't like it. I didn't tip him because that was rude. You don't come up to your customers and tell them don't order a roll and waste it. Cabbage salad is weird but oddly good - has to be the dressing. Military gets 15% off. I had the spicy tuna, which was actual chunks of tuna with spice instead of that ground up tuna in some places. And I also had the salmon roll, with huge slabs of salmon. The rice wasn't as al dente as some would like, but both rolls were very good. I'm definitely coming back. read more

Good was great I got the combination platter and loved it. Huge platter! Waitress was kind but Service was slow thru the entire process and it wasn't that busy there. Slow on getting water. Gave us miso soup but then slow on getting us spoons. Gave each one of us our meal slowly one at a time so none of us really could eat together. Slow on getting our check. The food is not as good as it used to be and the service has dwindled from very good to poor. After a long drive to Solvang front he Bay Area, the boyfriend and I were really craving sushi. Much to our dismay, every sushi place within 10 miles of Solvang was closed on Sundays. But we would not be denied our sushi, so we jumped into the car and made the 15 mile drive to Lompoc. We could only hope the sushi would be worth it. And it was. Coming from the San Francisco area, we can be picky when it comes to good quality sushi, and we were impressed with what Sushi Teri delivered. We ordered 4 rolls to share: the Big Daddy roll (my favorite), spider roll, Tiger Roll, and Heart Attack roll. All were very tasty. And prices were very decent. read more

The sushi was alright, but the service was kind of terrible... our waitress was very nice, however right as we got there it seemed like she wanted us to ordered before sitting down or even looking at the menu and then came back less than a minute later to ask again. Afterwords she took forever to come back around. When she did bring out our sushi, one of them was wrong and we had to send it back. We got 3 rolls and 1 order of yellowtail sashimi. She delivered the first two plates and someone else brought us the last one. on one of the plates we didn't have any wasabi or pickled ginger... the waitress never came around to check on us.
