For all our sushi needs I recommend chef Vu. He does catering, parties, and you can order for pick up. Recently, my husband and I just wanted some sashimi at home for lunch so we placed an order for pick up. I like that he sends you you a menu of prices and what is offered. For $150 we ended up with so much sashimi which looked more for 4 people instead of two. Everything we delicious and definitely affordable. I loved his bluefin tuna and toro. We wanted top-notch sushi for our anniversary dinner. The omakase places around us were closed due to the pandemic and for some reason, most omakase places are closed on Mondays which is the day of our anniversary. Thank goodness my boyfriend found Vu through a friend's recommendation. Vu usually operates his catering business on weekends only but he opened up his services to us on a Monday for our anniversary. I thought that was VERY thoughtful and kind of him. He also offers us free sake and beer as a complimentary. The sushi we ordered from Vu was: Nigiri Sets (Salmon Yellowtail, Toro) Sashimi Sets (Salmon, Toro, Yellowtail, Scallops) Firecracker Roll The nigiri and sashimi were tasty and it melts in your mouth. The firecracker roll was delicious and had the right amount of sauce so you are able to taste the spicy tuna. Most firecracker roll I had before has a lot of sauces that it overpowers the taste. Very beautiful and amazing designed Sushi! Extremely fresh and delicious! I hired Chef Vu for a company party based on a referral and I was skeptical about hiring someone I've never tried before. Chef Vu and I started with a few calls to discuss what I wanted and then we met to go over the details of the menu, decorations and what I wanted. He gave me a lot of advices and recommendations, which I took since I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for in regards to different types of sushi, except for high quality delicious fresh food. The day of the party I walked into the banquet room and the sushi was beautifully laid out on the table with Chef Vu standing behind it in his uniform and equipment, along with his workers. Chef Vu supplied the decorations, silverwares, utensils and everything else that was needed. It was also agreed upon that he and his employees would be there until the party was over to do special orders and to ensure that the sushi would never run out. The party lasted for 5 hours and it was a huge success. I had numerous people approached me to tell me how wonderful and fresh the sushi was and how they enjoyed everything. I even had quite a few people asked me for Chef Vu's number so they can hire him themselves because not only did they enjoy his presentation and sushi, they really liked his personality and how profession he and his staff were. It really made me feel good that everyone had such a good time and they enjoyed the presentation and food so much. Chef Vu is extremely professional and the attention him and his staff took over my guest was exceptional. His sushi was of the best quality and the presentation he made was beautiful! I can't say enough great things about Vu and his team. They have come out for 3 parties for us now and each one was fabulous! They bring the flowers, plates, candles, everything to set the tone, and then there is the sushi. It tastes phenomenal and is often a work of art!! We hired Vu to cater for our wedding on May 16, 2015 and let me say it's worth EVERY penny! We had a backyard wedding so we were able to bring in our own vendors to use, and since my hubby and I LOVE sushi, we decided from the very beginning that we wanted to have sushi on our special day, and we knew it wasn't going to be cheap, but afterwards we were so happy we did! The food was AMAZING! I got compliments all night from everyone, and the sushi line was definitely the longest line out of all the other food stations we had. We had Vu design a menu for us based on the types of sushi/rolls we liked, and we were 100% happy with everything! For cocktail hour, Vu and his chefs made AMAZING Tuna Tataki sliders and Salmon Poke. They were flying off the counter! For the reception, we had Yellowtail/Salmon nigiri, Spicy Tuna roll, Crunchy roll, and he gave us the California roll as a complimentary item. We even asked Vu to get us pickled wasabi, and he found it! He also gave us the leftovers so that we can do sushi night at home. Vu also provided all the necessary plating and everything was beautifully presented. We saw a lot of people go back for extra sushi and at the end of the night, Vu had extra wontons leftover and he generously gave them to us. I can't rave enough, and if you ever want sushi at any event, you must go with Vu! He is professional and will work hard to make sure you're 100% happy.
