This place is my favorite sushi place is London. I definitely come here wayyyy too much (see pics!). The sushi here tastes closest in quality to those in Japan and is consistent in quality. I find other sushi places in the UK are heavily focused on salmon and tuna of a lower grade. I mean salmon and tuna are good, but not necessarily my favorite of the fishes available. If you haven't explored sashimi and nigiri outside of salmon and tuna, it may take a while to appreciate the other fishes as salmon and tuna are definitely "starter-type" fish when enjoying sashimi and nigiri. The best value set is the Matsu set imo, although it will set you back £20.80 for that set compared to £13.80 for a mixed nigiri or an ume set if you order off the menu. The Matsu set has higher quality fish which more than justify the premium. I haven't found another place in London that offers this amount of variety and high quality fish at a reasonable price. The toro (fatty tuna) here is my favorite, which isn't readily available at other places. As a heads up, this place is more geared for take away than eating in as they only offer limited outside seating. I've taken the hot foods home on a cold winter day, and it's still warm once I'm eating at home. Gyudon (beef bowl) is my favorite hot item and I must say, it beats out Yoshinoya's gyudon which is already amazing! They have another location in shoreditch which has indoor seating if you prefer to eat in. All the staff are super friendly and respectful. Service is pretty fast from order to delivery of food if you order off the menu; if you're in hurry grab the ready go options! Nice little authentically Japanese lunch option for those who work in Angel. I must've walked this past this place in Camden Passage a lot and never noticed it. Like lots of other cool places in Camden Passage. Must explore Camden Passage more... Not much room inside, but I like sitting at the bar bit on a stool and facing outwards, people watching. #creep #weirdo Anyway. Not huge amounts of options for vegetarians here. I went for 3 x 6pcs of the basic rolls - plum, pickle and cucumber. I think 12 rolls would've done me to be honest, and the plum ones were this weird sour plum sauce thing - not ideal. Two things I really like about this place: 1. Delicious miso soup 2. The seaweed they use to wrap the rolls. Really chewy. It doesn't disintegrate instantly when you put it in your mouth. Walking around Angel with my wife and daughter, we found a little "new" sushi spot, one of those traditional, family and authentic Japanese eight seats restaurants with more than a lovely staff, great plain atmosphere, really fresh ingredients and the most important thing, very good sushi. Sometimes, less is more, and definitely this is one of those cases, a humble and unpretentious menu with a few twist, like the saba (mackerel) dynamite maki or the traditional (huge one) chicken teriyaki futomaki as well. The otoro nigiri (faty tuna sushi) and the uni (sea urchin) gunkan were amazing, the rice was at the proper temperature, size and seasoning, they were simple, perfect and fast. They also have a little grocery market were you could buy some Japanese candies, sodas, snacks, sauces, ice creams, ingredients to cook at home, and pre -packed sushi (too cold for my taste, I must say) on a side of the store, so you may think twice before to go to London central to buy good nihon stuff. If you worried about the prices, take it easy, they 100% reasonable. If you are a real Sushi Lover who loves to enjoy a good piece of sushi with a nice sake or cold Japanese beer, let me tell you... They don't have alcohol license, so you must do what I did, drink a Ramune or a green tea! We really enjoyed the experience, definitely we are going back, to be honest, I cannot wait to do it! I've been here a few times for quick sushi fixes. Overall, their food is reasonably fresh and authentic. I typically order an assortment of sushi (my favourite so far is the scallop nigiri), and their udon is solid too. Otherwise, they sell a lot of ready meals and snacks as well, so it's a good place to pick something up on the go. Having said that, it's also not the best sushi I've ever had, so don't expect too much from this hole-in-the-wall kind of shop. Service is good in the sense that the staff at cashier are nice and they're reasonably prompt with serving sushi made on the spot. Given it's mostly a self-service set-up, do not expect to be waited upon. Ambience is very cozy and even tight. In a way, I quite like that about this place, as it always reminds me of eating in a real local place in the heart of Tokyo. read more

If you're looking for great high quality sushi at a reasonable price, Sushi Show is for you!!! Seating is super limited with probably 6-8 people inside and another 8 people outside so many people (including me) usually come here for takeaway during lunch. The storefront is also very subtle, as I've walked by several times before I even knew it was there! Luckily, several coworkers told me about it because they loved it so much and now, I love it too! I've had the spicy tuna, the soft-shelled crab, the whitefish, and the salmon rolls... ALL of them have copious amounts of the meat in them and expertly wrapped in rice and seaweed. The difference between Sushi Show and others is that it tastes like it was made IN Japan (and I've been to the famous fish market in Tokyo) and it's not going to break your wallet (as much) if you go here several times a week. Each ingredient tastes authentic... which is more than I can say about other places where the meat is almost missing, the rice tastes plastic, and the seaweed seems stale. Fresh fish. Great staff. Nice atmosphere. My go-to spot when I'm craving some sushi. I always order a tekka don. The bluefin tuna really hits the spot. The restaurant/take-away offers a pretty standard sushi menu alongside, some innovative uramakis (like chicken teriyaki uramaki), and a spicy dynamite roll (mackerel with chili/etc), sashimi ricebowls, or even a hot bowl of plain udon. They've got huge futomakis, as well as vegan hosomakis for all you veggies out there. Edit - they also have gyudon, takoyaki and other things. This is a good quick cheap sushi spot. I had heard from locals we had to go there, and my expectations were different. I was thinking it was a restaurant but it's more of a quick service spot. There aren't tables inside really so you can snag a bar spot or an outdoor table. You mark down what items you want and pass it to the cashier. There isn't alcohol at this spot. For the sushi, it's not bad! It's not the highest grade tuna you'll ever eat, but they have some interesting combos and it's tasty. If I'm in the mood for rolls, this would be the spot. Oh sushi, sushi, where are you, dearest sushi? With all the burger places in Angel, there is a dearth of decent sushi so when this opened right next to my house, I couldn't have been more pleased. It's a tiny place selling pre-packed sushi boxes and salads. They have a little bar and seating area for dining in and also a Japanese grocery section. So it's now a lot more convenient to buy your own sushi making ingredients than going the Japan centre. The sushi rolls weren't amazing. They were pretty average and I would avoid the prawn tempura again. You order off a dim sum style list so not a huge amount of variety. But when you need a sushi fix and don't want to drop mega bucks, it's worth a visit. The staff were lovely and friendly and it's properly convenient for me. I'll be back! read more

Nice new little Sushi take away, with a few tables for some eating in. Staff were all very friendly and happy to serve us even though we came in very close to closing. They have either pre -packed sushi or will freshly make orders. There is also a small Asian shop for some dried groceries. The decor is very plain but the food was quick to come out and of a good standard. The price was very reasonable in comparison to chains that do a similar sort of service. A great option for lunch for anyone that lives locally. read more

Authentic in style and substance, you feel like you've stepped into little Tokyo when crossing the threshold into the 8 seat place (there's also seating for up to 6 more outside). The staff are all Japanese and are courteous and welcoming; we came just as another couple was leaving so snagged great people watching spots looking out the front window at the end of the counter. We ordered two salmon avocado maki rolls; uni and sea bass sashimi and fatty tuna nigiri; two cups of miso soup. Everything was wonderfully fresh and well priced. Though the rolls came from their display offering we were there early enough to assume they had been just made; however it would have been nice to have those maki rolls actually prepared for our order, hence the docking of a star. All in all this place exceeds expectations and is definitely worth trying. read more

This is probebly one of the best sushi resturants in London. Its sushi is real good and the prices are good too. If you want a good lunch or dinner this is the place. Wait time is really short too most of the time. It usually takes about 15 min for a meal for 3 people. The one thing i dont like about this place is the miso soup. This was heavily recommended. Indeed we enjoyed our takeout two days before. Unfortunately dine-in was a mistake. Rude service and no ventilation. Oil fumes from frying filled up and ruined the experience of eating sushi. My feedback on the oil fumes fell on deaf ears; instead I was quickly reminded that my perfume was very strong.
