Sushi's Secret is that they have this machine that'll place rice on your seaweed. Pretty interesting. I wanted this massive sushi burrito but without the rice. I asked for one and they said they couldn't make it and it would have to be a bowl instead (insert sad face). But I get it... it wouldn't be able to hold anything without the rice... yah yah yah. Newbie to the sushirrito, this was my first try. I tried B3 Chichibun upon recommendation from the sushi chef and it was good. I liked the kimche which added that spice I like. I also tried the lobster balls and they were good, it was dough and inside small pieces of lobster. It was my first time tasting them this way and I enjoyed them. F&S is chill with outside food, a good thing, since the lobby cafe is pretty basic - not much beyond beverages and cookies. So I ducked out at intermission and found this spot. No line on a Sunday afternoon, friendly service and fresh varied ingredients. The kelp noodles were new to me and definitely worth a try. Prices seemed low for the size and quality. A great idea. Okay execution. Who wouldn't want an onigiri on steroids jam packed with sashimi -- oh and shredded cabbage and carrots to make you feel healthier? While these sushi burritos sound good in my mind, when I'm actually eating them, they're not that great. The B3, which is supposed to be so good, wasn't that great. It needed more evenly spread sauce. As it was, the sauce was too much in some bites, and not enough in other bites. In the non-saucy bites, I was longing for some wasabi kick but instead eating not-so-fresh sashimi with nothing to mask the taste. At least with chirashi bowls you can manage each bite better. The B1 and B2 ended up being better, even though I think they may have forgotten the unagi that comes in B2. The cooked imitation crab was more flavorful and enjoyable to eat. More of a comfort food. The shrimp tempura batter had way too much batter (B1) and left me wanting less. In short, I would go here if I was craving a sushirrito because no one else makes them. Plus they're not too expensive. However, I don't think I'll be craving a sushirrito anytime soon. If any of their signature sushi wraps doesn't catch your attention then you also have the option to create your own perfect sushi burrito. 1) Select 2 types of fish 2) Select 3 secrets sauces 3) Unlimited add-on You can never go wrong by creating your own. At first we thought it was fine, but the fish tasted weird (Poke Bowl). But after eating, my boyfriend felt sick and he ended up throwing up all of it. Why does everyone recommend the potted milk tea drink? I'm not a huge fan of mint, but this drink tastes funky. It tastes too minty. I expected a thicker consistency and more chunks of Oreos. For some odd reason, the drink tasted a little artificial, like there was some flavored syrup inside of it. I ordered B3. Overall, it was ok. The salmon tasted fine... However, tuna wasn't so fresh. The portions are smaller than I had expected. I'll be back to try the other rolls, but def staying away from that milk tea. read more

It was one of those scorching hot days where I was feigning for some cold sushi I was actually driving down the street and seen the sign to this place decided to park my car and go try it out I'm glad I did the food tasted great I ended up getting a custom sushi burrito I wish they had more options of things to put in. I've came to Sushi Secrets once before and ordered a crab bowl and avocado smoothie and thought both were pretty good. The crab bowl had a lot in it (imitation crab and corn among other ingredients) and I couldn't finish it in one sitting. The avocado smoothie tasted like avocados so I enjoyed it as well. I went back again and ordered the popcorn chicken listed as a new item so I could compare it to Sweetheart Cafe. Although the pieces were less fatty than Sweetheart, it was also more bland and got extremely hard if you didn't eat it quickly enough. I ate about a third of the bag before I offered it to someone else to see if they wanted it. I also ordered another avocado smoothie. It again tasted like fresh avocados but they didn't blend it well enough so I was crunching on tiny (and not so tiny) ice cubes. They were pretty busy when I got there so I'll assume that's why they didn't blend it longer. They're quick with wrapping the sushi burritos and have a secret combo of any sushi burrito and milk tea for $9.99. There was only one table occupied when I went the second time as everyone else was taking their orders to go. I'd come back to give their sushi burritos a try since that's what they're actually known for but wanted to give a review on what I've had there so far. read more

When I'm craving a sushi burrito, I always come here. There are plenty of poke bowl restaurants in Berkeley but not many sell sushirittos. Sushi Secrets, sell both poke bowls and sushirittos. For $9.99 you can get a sushiritto with two proteins and select toppings. The roll is big and will fill you up. My friend and I came in here starving after a bike ride and the sushiritto hit the spot. It's easy to eat on the go. I like the couches in the back of the restaurant with the coffee tables because you can relax and drink your drinks and even get some work done. read more

This was my first time getting a sushi burrito. I've heard plenty of stories about the famous Sushirito, but never really heard much about this place. I finished yoga today and my friend wanted sushi so I looked up sushi restaurants in Berkeley and came about this place. To my surprise, this place had a decent amount of reviews and stars. First off, the selection comes in a variety. You can make your own, or you can have the pre -made ones. I got B1 the one with crab and shrimp tempura. I loved this one. The size is decent but I wish it was bigger. The price is 7.99 and if you add more salmon or raw fish, you pay a premium price for 9.99. In addition, after that, if you select regular and then get a milk tea, you can get a combo for 9.99. The guy working there in pink hair was awesome!! The service was so great! After you order, they bring it to you. There is free water there for yourself. In addition, they have plant tea which is something hard to find in the east bay these days. I didn't get to try the tea, but I have to say the sushi burrito was great! I loved the sauce in it, they put crab that is very fresh, shrimp tempura and cream cheese and an assortment of veggies. I used to spend a lot of time in Hawaii and yes I love poke. I also love burritos, and yes you can say I too love sushi! Sushirito, is not a thing for everybody. I can just tell you that, but if you fancy handrolls, wasabi paste, or honey avocado sauce, or california rolls...And you have an open palette you might as well give this place to try. Granted I feel like a place like this would only exist in California and with the variety of different foods and cultures in Berkeley it is a great spot to have sushirrito. You can come away with a customized Pokebowl or a customized sushi burrito. The Experience here was not memorable to me I just remember it being very dark inside, not very inviting. But compared to all the other establishments in the area I really wanted sushi. There was another sushi place nearby I would probably pick that one... but DIDNT. this worked for me. I wanted to give this place 4 stars, but after eating my sushi burrito #B8, I was very disappointed. The customer service though was superb and the burritos came out very quickly to my surprise. Keep up the fantastic work. I had B8 which consisted of salmon and a bunch of veggies and egg. It was nearly flavorless to me, although it did have a good amount of salmon in my burrito. BUT the salmon was extremely poor tasting, to the point where it gave me terrible stomach pains the rest of the day. The salmon was bad and you can tell by the taste and the color (I do not have a sensitive stomach) that it was not good to eat. The key to sushi burrito in my opinion is in the sauce, and the B8 was lacking incredibly in that aspect. There was almost no flavor and the bad tasting salmon left a sour taste in my mouth. I stopped eating 3/4 of the way and gave it to my bf. I shouldn't had, because he also ended up with bad stomach pains. However, one redemption factor that saved this place from getting a 1 star review was #B3, an item that my bf ordered. It consisted of both tuna and salmon. The spicy tuna was incredibly delicious and the sauce was heavenly. I highly recommend everybody to get the B3, although it is a little spicy (just a little), the sauce makes it worth it. Generous portion of meat. I've had better sushi burrito at a sushi burrito place in Oakland. In comparison to Oakland's, Sushi Secrets just does not compare. When Sushi Secrets opened at 12, all the sushi burritos were made by one person. He was making, from what I saw, 5 burritos at a time. It wasn't carefully put together and it looked like everything was just thrown at once. In Oakland, although the food takes a little slower to prepare, the care and presentation is significantly better than Sushi Secrets'. Please fix your fish quality. Came here with the bf on a Saturday afternoon. I've been wanting to try this place for few months now and since I was super hungry and running errands, decided to stop by. The B8 had a very sweet and nice aoili that complimented the salmon inside. The salmon was raw sashimi and it was giant fatty chunks, which is what I love! The corn added a different texture to it, which was good. One thing I didn't particularly like was that they stuffed too much cabbage, in my opinion. My boyfriend loved his, he didn't even want to take with me haha. It basically tasted like a giant California roll. I mainly liked the fact that there was avocado inside, but not enough. There's a self-service water station, which is super convenient. However, the restaurant in general felt a little dirty. I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but it was a preset burrito with salmon and a lot of various spicy things in it. I generally adore spicy food, and can handle quite a bit, but this was kindof crazy. There was way too much sauce, and the paper wrapping the burrito was drenched. Because of the poor ratio, the burrito was way too spicy! It was to the point that I couldn't taste the fish, which just made me sad. The saving grace was the nice staff. The lady server on Saturday was quite rude to my husband and to me. We weren't sure if she remembered the order. She has an attitude problem. The lady server was being extremely rude and unprofessional. We were not pleased with her service at all. As for the food, we still enjoyed the B8 meal by adding unagi and seaweed. However, there were very little of the salmon in our meal. It would be great if you would change the video. My hubby had seen the same video since you guys opened this business. I was feeling very hungry and forgot to bring my lunch at the office, so I decided to pop in and give this place a try. Sushi Secrets definitely fulfilled my sushi craving and surprised me with how good the food was. I got a tofu sushi burrito with spicy mayo and anago sauce and picked cabbage, carrots, cucumber, corn, and avocado as my sides. I really appreciate that they give you enough avocado and only charge an extra dollar for it as opposed to the usual two. The tofu was nice and soft and the vegetables were all very crisp and fresh. I especially loved the sweet corn. The anago sauce was sweet but not too sweet and had a nice umami flavor to it. The place itself was very clean and pleasant to sit in, and the staff were also quite kind. My order was ready within five minutes which was great as well. They have quite an extensive menu, so I'm looking forward to trying their other selections the next time I come. So far I've only had their sushi burrito because it's my go to. I customize my own burrito to my liking but one item I would highly recommend is the fried shrimp for your protein. It adds crispy texture, warmth, and overall flavor 10/10 would recommend. The service is great and friendly.
