Yesterday was a gorgeous, windy spring day here on the Silverlakes. So we decided to eat out in the good weather and enjoy the sunshine, and my husbands weekend off from base. We've never been to sushi plus, but what an excellent idea! The service and food were wonderful. Andrew is an excellent host: amicable and thorough. And we appreciated all the vegetarian options on his menu. Healthy, delicious, and yummy. My husband loved his dragon roll, and said his portions were perfect for his appetite. Also, his son is a Westpoint graduate, a few years after my husband. So they chit-chatted abt how everyone is doing now. I didn't like sushi but Sushi plus changed my mind. I crave their sushi often. Their staff is friendly and do their best to connect with customers and remember them. They even made cute little sushi rolls for my 1 year old son and made sure the salmon was thoroughly cooked. While service can be a little slow, please know that it is worth the wait. Always amazing! This is my hometown and I always come here with my sister when I am visiting. Service is always amazing and Grace is always so friendly, she always remembers names and gives you a big. And the sushi? Top notch! You really wouldn't expect it for being in the middle of nowhere off Route 66 and this saves you from driving into say Barstow, or Victorville. Love the dining area, plenty of places to sit and you can even sit in the private areas that give you a nice view of the north lake. Come here at sunset for a fabulous view! We got 4 rolls and they were all amazing. After all these years the service and food quality has never changed and I love the text to order option! Sushi in the middle of the desert? Good sushi!? Helendale? Yes!!! If you're traveling the 15 fwy and aren't in a huge rush, take the detour and check this place out. Route 66 parallels the 15, we wanted something other than the normal fast food you always stop to get on the this drive. I saw the reviews and thought, this can't be! We took 66 (it's 15 minutes longer than saying on hwy 15) but so worth the detour. Plus driving historic Route 66 is sort of an eye opener! Almost like something you'd see in a movie, like time stopped and everyone went somewhere else. Back to the sushi! We eat a lot of sushi in LA. It's as good, maybe better than our go-to places!! We went for lunch on a Sunday, rolls came out fast, they were perfectly made, beautiful and tasty. The menu had lots of great choices. The service was great! The new dining room beautiful. The place sits right on a little lake. Who would have thought!? We were so happy to have amazing, fresh, tasty sushi at the end of our trip, it was a fun detour, thank you Sushi Plus! read more

My tastebuds and stomach came alive! I ordered a Dynamite Scallop Roll which was like Baked Scallops, Shrimp, on top of a California Roll with EEL Sauce, Spicy Mayo, and Masago. At first it sounded gross but when Chef Ben (wonderful gentlemen, very friendly) reassured me I'd like it, once I ate it my mind was BLOWN! I LOVED IT!!! Local hidden gem! Stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon so the wait was only 10 minutes for my order. Staff is so welcoming and kind and offered recommendations.
