ORDER NEVER READY ON TIME We have been ordering sushi from Sushi Nara since we moved to this side of Abbotsford 3 years ago. Usually no less than once per week. While the food has always been good the fact that 75% of all pickup orders done online are no less than 15 minutes late and upwards to 40 minutes late is appalling. We have tried to have conversations with them many times and every single time we get the same response. We can't control how busy we get after the online order comes in. There's nothing we can do. At no point did an owner or manager ever reach out to us. Well that is simply not true, you could have your web designer create a better system OR don't give a timeframe online rather send out a text when the order has been started signaling a 15-20 min pickup window. Instead they chose to ignore loyal customers and carry on with a bro system. read more

Yesterday I thought I had the best sushi in British Columbia, until today. This is a wonderful Korean sushi-ya located at the foothills of the Rockies in Abbotsford, BC. Large Korean community here and no shortage of great restaurants. The most sublime albacore tuna (toro) and the most luscious wild salmon, in total 12 pcs. Had a tako (octopus) sunomono salad. Then we went completely insane and had a spicy salmon hand roll with cho gochujang because we are leaving tomorrow and wanted to maximize the experience. Last week was my brother's birthday and we had a sushi lunch last Sunday to celebrate. Fiancé and I treated brother and sister-in-law to sushi from Sushi Nara . It was my first time having Sushi Nara and it won't be the last... it was delicious! We ordered: Atlantic Salmon Sashimi, Chicken Teriyaki, assorted Tempura, Ebi Mayo, Miso soup, Aburi Sushi, Crazy Girl Roll, Caterpillar Roll, Red Dragon Roll, Alaska Roll, and Philadelphia Roll. Food is great. However, their system of getting food out is a joke! Put in an order online, pay online, get told it'll be 35 mins. Arrive on time and have to stand outside in a crowd of people and wait over an HOUR for food when they originally said 35 mins. read more

I honestly give this place a 4.5. When I first walked in and started off by asking for more sriracha hot sauce I think I got off on the wrong foot because I was irritated that they charge $.50 for extra spicy sauce actually there wasn't even any spicy sauce on the table so I was kind of annoyed by that but after that....have never experienced a restaurant asking for extra for hot sauce ? We ordered the several of the specialty rolls I also ordered cucumber roll and a dynamite roll. I was extremely extremely impressed at the quality of the sushi it was just perfectly rolled so immediately I knew that the sushi was going to be good quality, after taking the first bite it was just the perfect combination of texture flavor and crunch to each sushi roll.. Seriously the sushi was made with the utmost quality and hygiene and this is an amazing spot I definitely recommend this spot to anybody above other spots in the area.... The service was very good and everybody was extremely polite it was a very nice quiet environment however they were somewhat busy.... I am not sure if this would be a place to being kids with as the space is not huge and kids may be bothersome To some patrons... Since I found this sushi restaurant, I certainly believe this is the best one! Why? They have pretty much you want to have, sockeye salmon, special rolls with fresh fruit decoration, and very friendly people who serve you. Why didn't I give a 5-star? This is my third time to be here. The first two were flawless. However, this time they just served me a delicious miso soup with 'cold' tofu in it. Very good sushi. We will definitely add it to the rotation. Had a couple of different rolls which were tasty. The only miss was the Ebi Mayo. Which was breaded instead of tempura. Wouldn't order that again and if I heard another table would speak up. Other than that pretty good read more

First time here. It's fairly new, probably within a year as the plaza/complex it's in is pretty new. Good service, quite quick, but it wasn't busy as we were there for a late lunch at 2pm. We just had maki, which was pretty good, especially the Mango roll (cucumber, avocado, ebi, red bell pepper, cream cheese and topped with mango). Other than that the rolls were okay, nothing amazing. Also, had sake and green tea- perfect to have warm drinks on a rainy day! If I had been hungrier I would've gone for the Oyako Don because it's not super common, yet it tends to be sumptuous. I've made it at home- basically it's like teri chicken and egg on rice. Will try next time, as there will likely be a next time- it's only 10 mins from where I live in Sumas, WA (have to cross into Canada though). read more

Very fresh cuts of fish, very well made rolls. The yam tempura roll was the best one I've tried. We eat sushi in Vancouver regularly and this place was very impressive. Veggie Gyoza is unlike any other I've had. Considering the quality Sushi Nara is an excellent value. read more

I don't usually review sushi places unless they are really unique or worthwhile. I think most locals already know this place and if I lived in Abbotsford I would be a regular at Sushi Nara. Kid friendly, lots of veggie options, and the presentation of the sushi, portion and value are all spot on! I really enjoyed the tempura, tofu teriyaki, and vegan rolls. In my party everyone agreed that this was one of best places for rolls we've tried! Neat, right next to castle fun park for us grown up kiddies to enjoy after mini golf. read more

This place is awesome! Conveniently located in a shopping center just off the highway, this sushi is awesome! I order the magic tuna roll & the gyoza and I have to say they came out perfectly, everything was the right temperature, well plated etc... The sushi was good and very well presented. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The only thing that dragged it down was that my wife's unagi donburi was not evenly heated and we had to send it back. They also were missing some items advertised on their menu. I know that this isn't always under their control and happens especially with harder to find items. Based on what we experienced however, I would give them a second chance and if you are deciding to go, definitely give them a try. I will update my review when I go again. read more

If you're looking for good sushi ( not all you can eat) this is the place to go . Great relaxing atmosphere in the restaurant , the servers are very friendly and knowledgable and the rolls are delicious . It is a bit pricey but it is well worth it ! We have supported this restaurant for over 5 years on a regular basis. The last experience we had prior to tonight's visit was clear they're experiencing issues but we decided to give them another try. No more after tonight! The place was packed with not enough staff. We were eating in then taking additional food home for another family member. The server placed a to go item on the bill after we decided against (after he relayed the ingredients upon our inquiry). When we went to the register to pay, the obviously overstressed employee barked to know what our order was. Then when I explained we didn't order the one item the entire team of the owners family members gathered round causing a huge scene yelling and bantering back and forth with the server who was aggressively yelling at me about the order. I offered to pay for the item I ordered just to stop the attack. At no point did I ever refuse to pay. This carried on for several minutes. The male server then started yelling at the side of my face. It was so obnoxious and abusive my friend had a full on panic attack from their actions. I will NEVER spend another dime in this unprofessional and atrocious place. Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time supporting these ridiculous people. read more
