I was in Trondheim, Norway back in May for work and heard this was the best place to get sushi. I'm a huge sushi fan so I had to give it a try. I walked in and they spoke Norwegian to me and noticed the confused look on my face. Right away, they switched over to English. The staff here spoke English very well and were so delighted to have me. I felt very welcomed and the service was excellent. Now on to the food.... By far, the best quality of sushi I've ever had! This place is pretty upscale and a little expensive, but totally worth it. I ordered the Sashimi platter for 1. This comes with salmon belly, scallops topped with caviar, shrimp, tuna, and two other types of white fish that I don't recall the names of. It also comes with a side of sushi rice so you can build your own Nigiri. It was about $45 USD for all of this, a little steep, but so worth it! The fish was so fresh and melted in your mouth. Being in Trondheim by the sea I naturally looked for a good sushi restaurant. Previous review led me to Sushi bar Ravnkloa. I must also say that I have a high bar when it comes to sushi and I wasn't disappointed at all. I must say that sometimes quality has a cost and I was willing to get the quality tonight as I was in exquisite company. The main dishes were a sushi assortment and some different sashimis pieces. The sashimi's were delicious, salmon sashimis are normally the one I go for but this one also had tuna but also cod and scallop which I never had as a sashimi before. They were all exquisites. With regards to the sushis, the rice cooking was a little bit different than what I had in the past, it was actually al dente a bit like the pasta, and with this chef this rendered the sushis sublime. The staff was professional, friendly and very presentable. If I ever get back to Trondheim I will go back. read more

The best sushi in Trondheim, in my opinion. Therefore, it is also not the cheapest sushi in town. But you get what you pay for. The chefs here are truly skilled, and my recommendation is to share a plate for 2 or 3 persons. My favorite is the Tempura Mixed, but if you're feeling fancy (and don't mind spending some extra money), go for the Omakase, and the chef will compose something creative based on whatever is the best ingredients at the time. If you just want to stuff yourself with as much food as possible, or would rather have your maki drowned in chili mayo - or don't really care for the seafood at all - then just go somewhere else.
