This is casual and the menu is not very big (and changes neither very often nor by very much), but they found something they're extremely good at and perfected to an incredible extent. I can't think of a single thing I'd change here. Most of the food they serve has traces of traditional Scandinavian cuisine, some Mediterranean and Arab influences, and a good dose of east Asian flavors. That might sound messy, but it's not -- the flavors are really well balanced. As much as I eat here, they still manage to surprise me with their creativity while still maintaining a sufficient sense of familiar flavors. The food is also really healthy and they use a lot of local organic ingredients. I tend to prefer the dinner over the lunch (get the dinner of the day), but the lunch is also very good. It's also very cheap, and they offer takeout. This is probably not the best vegetarian restaurant in the world, but that's easy to forget when you're here and feeling blissful, and I'd say Persilleriet easily holds its own against more famous vegetarian restaurants like Leaf (Boulder, CO) or Candle 79 (NYC). (The main difference being the level of formality and style of cooking.) If you have any interest in food you need to try this place.

You will have to order at the counter (in the meantime have a look in the kitchen where the Thai prepare your dinner), pay immediately and they will serve it at your table. You can choose to sit at a normal table or at one on the platform (take your shoes off!) where you have a hole under the table so you don't have to sit on your legs. The food is very good! I had the fishcakes and the green curry. They were both very delicious! A lot of flavours and not too spicy for me (I ordered medium hot). Both our visits were early walk-ins: the first time we were seated at the non-reserved window seats; on our next visit, the very nice maitre'd let us have a table if we promised to be out by 4pm. She even offered to let us pay in advance to maximize our time! Even though that worked for us, we'd strongly recommend making reservations! On our first visit we ordered their Margherita pizza, since that's our standard "reference" pizza. We were blown away by the incredible crust but not the toppings; the tomato sauce didn't have the kick we'd expect from DOP San Marzano tomatoes, but it may have been from a paucity of Grana Padano parmesan. No matter; this was a small deviation from perfection. During our first visit we noticed several incredibly cheesy pizzas coming out of the oven, so the second time around we tried their Quattro Formaggi pizza.
