Fast service always, if i will be in with friends i will call and let them know so they have a heads up. I know many people dont like the massage places on stockton blvd but this one is a good one. Will always be back!

My favorite masseuse left (Linda) and now it's not the same anymore for me. I've been to this…read morelocation for over a year, with my mother, and I used to feel very refreshed when I leave but today, I just left feeling absurdly sore and in unnecessary pain. This would be a good location for those seeking techniques similar to deep tissue and for a masseuse to really clear those knots and tension out. The employees are used to digging in super deep into those pressure points with their elbows and utilizing fast, firm, and repetitive strokes, which is personally not ideal, in my opinion as a former massage practitioner, compared to slower deep strokes for full effectiveness. I personally and generally do not like how deep they go. It's recommended to start light/medium pressure and increase until satisfactory or ask the client for their preference in pressure and check throughout the session, but it was just generalized that I would want deep pressure. My body was not sore for my visit today so I was seeking minimal to moderate pressure with more hand/palm movements instead of elbow usage. My masseuse (Jane? -- per tip folder) started out with a fairly relaxing [face/head] massage while my feet soaked in hot water. I asked her to go softer on the neck massage and she was able to keep it consistent enough when she moved to my arms. The best part of the entire massage was my feet because I was so relaxed that I fell asleep, so I can at least say they are definitely feet reflexology experts! For the rest of my body though, not so much. Her hard pressure was causing me to tense up and no longer relax and she asked me at one point if it was okay. At the time, it felt like she was clearing up some knots so I went along with it. But then her pressure continued to increase especially in specific points, around my scapulas and lower back to where it would cause me to slightly flinch. Yes, I should have spoken up more since a closed mouth doesn't get fed, but I was embarrassed to continually have to ask to go lighter after the first time asking, especially since many clients seem to enjoy really deep/strong massages -- sadly, I'm not really a fan of repeating myself. I convinced myself that I would feel refreshed and feeling sore was part of the process, like exercising or after seeing a chiropractor -- it would be a good soreness and maybe she would find hidden knots that I wasn't aware of. Unfortunately, that was not the case; I was there from 12:30-14:00 today and it's now almost midnight, I'm heading to bed and now I can't bend my back at all to pick up anything or lay down comfortably or else I would be in immense pain in my upper back. I had to ice the sore spots to hopefully alleviate some of the soreness. It's a silent expectation to tip the masseuse after the session and my mother and I always would do so out of politeness plus as thanks for a good massage. When the massage is complete, you will usually be handed water while they wait nearby for you to gather yourself and your belongings. This is usually around the time the tip would be expected but this time, I was actually handed a tip folder, which to me, seems really tacky because it feels like an expectation for a job that I didnt really feel was well done. We left a $30 tip per masseuse but I left feeling quite unsatisfied. I would not recommend this location if you're a softie like me that would prefer a Swedish massage.

What I loved was that he spoke with me throughout the session. He explained what he was doing as he was doing it, and why it was going to help. My focal point was my upper body. Neck, traps, head it was all tense. He literally went knot by knot releasing tension. Asking me my pain level every step of the way. It hurt I won't lie, but it was a good hurt. What this session made me realize was that our bodies are like cars. We get it brand new off the lot, and as time progresses our tires get bald, our alignment gets thrown off, we need recalibration, etc. One thing that he said is that this tension is not new, it's not months old, this tension has accumulated since birth, and that hit so deep! He did focus on a certain area, but he also did a full body massage. He is so thorough, wise, and is quick to send along information he feels will help. If you're looking for pan relief, I recommend visiting Chan. Enjoy!!
