A month later I was hit with a bill for almost $500 because they coded it as a non-preventative visit saying that taking my vitals is a separate code. Absolutely not. Then, when I explained that even if that was true, the CPT code they used was for appointments that are longer than 45 minutes, they said it was because it accounted for the time the doctor took to take notes. I was in the room with the doctor for less than 10 minutes, and if it takes him 25 minutes longer than the entirety of my visit to write standard notes (WITH THE HELP OF AN AI ASSISTANT) then this clinic is incompetent to say the least. While my initial appointment was quick and painless, the surprise billing and dizzying redirection of the staff completely soured the experience. What's the point of the doctor asking, "How are you? Is anything bothering you?" if mentioning anything outside preventive care means a different cost? It's absurd. He works with my issues and adjusts because I have stenosis and carpal tunnel and sometimes the work to stabilize my neck will exacerbate the carpal tunnel. He's flexible and supportive with both issues. Everyone is always wearing a mask and there is no tolerance for unmasked mouth breathers. I appreciate that. The aides were professional, kind, and attentive. The front desk staff was a delight to work with.
