He set up a video appointment to see if she accepted his insurance and if she was a good fit for him. This was not a medical call; basically a meet and greet. The doctor looked at this medical record and verified she accepted his insurance. For that honor, he was charged almost $600. He was never informed that they were going to charge this large a fee; as he would have never consented to this. He called Dignity's accounting office and explained that he was never informed that there would be a charge for a non-medical appointment. The office called him back and stated that they spent 47 minutes on him which included setting up the phone call??? He was on the phone for 15 minutes.
