Yorkshire tea saved it from getting two stars. But is it 'The Destination' for your culinary needs? I bloody hope not. It was much the same size as our local Carrefour, with not much of a better selection. Yes the stuff maybe of a more 'gourmet' level. Yet it's much the same stuff. The wine... huge disappointment. There really is a better selection at any grocery store. Yes they had a few bottles of great wines, but with the boasting on their website. One would expect aisle upon aisle of choice. Not half an aisle. I'd go back for the niche item. Regular grocery shopping? Not on your nelly!

If you are from the US, think Whole Foods, but way more upmarket - almost maybe a better comparison would be Dean & DeLuca, cause similar to them, a lot of the food and drink here is curated as well. Case in point, the guys at the grocery store knew so much about produce I had never even seen before - a yellow dragonfruit! Crickets - chocolate covered and plain and in a dip! Chinese rhubarb! Citron Caviar!! BTW, that last one was a product of USA and I didn't even know that the US was a producer of this food item, let alone what the thing was! I was really super lucky that another Yelper, Hubert E. was accompanying us on our voyage of discovery around Rob's as he knew where the best stuff was kept, and since he is a local, was really helpful in explaining some food items that mum and I could not figure out what they were. Best of all, we ended up going on a day that a whole number of producers were showcasing their goods and so I tasted beautiful salmon (I don't know how I can ever buy Salmon from anywhere else again) to 4 different kinds of bee pollen, exquisite black truffle biscuits and amazing wine from the south of France. Yeah, totally can't wait to go back - next on my list, beside shopping of course, is to go eat at their restaurant upstairs!

My wife (a Filipina) was able to get the attention of the owner, also a Filipina, and the spoke a bit. They are planning to re-open soon & I wish them success. We turned to Yelp for some help trying to see if there's any Filipino food in the area. We came across Bahay Kubo, after a long day trip to Brugge dinner at Bahay Kubo would capped our day. The place is very cute, you see a Philippine flag as you walked in. Noticed that more than half of the patrons were non-Filipinos. I always like to see non-Filipinos at a Filipino restaurant especially if they're not with other Filipinos. It's a sign that Filipino food is going mainstream. We were met by the owner Thelma, she was very nice that she even let us charge our phones since we've been out all day and both our phones are what most Filipinos call it "lobat". We ordered Lumpia which was served with atchara salad and sweet sauce , it was nice and crispy. For our meal we decided on Pork Belly Sinigang, it was excellent with plenty of vegetable and the sour soup with a little kick of spice hit the spot. We also had Sisig, this Sisig was Sizzling!!! Everything was excellent so we decided to end the evening with halo halo and I'm telling you, it did not disappoint with ice cream and flan on top which I think the owner said they used Luneta Ice Cream, It was a nice ending to a beautiful day in Brugge and a great dinner at Bahay Kubo. So Kababayan (fellow Filipino) and non- Filipinos in the area. Go check them out! We will definitely go back the next time we're in this side of the world. See you next time Thelma and thank Chef for us again for a wonderful dinner.

She explained their chocolates are produced by a small family-run chocolatier. The ingredients are pure and it shows in the chocolates. The prices seem to be better than Godiva and Neuhaus as well! I wish they travelled better as I would order some up immediately! I think my favourites were ginger, clove and pistachio. I chose their house selection of darks for my friend I stayed with. I heard they were fantastic as well. I cannot wait to visit you again! This review was written in 2009
