I am writing this complaint in the name of my mother, 89 yrs. old, who was at the store this morning of Easter, Sunday. She's been a faithful customer of the Delhaize Boulevard Anspach for 30+ years without a problem. With the previous management, she made a lot of friends there with the employees and the cash registers and even became confident to some of them. She always brought a smile to the cash registers with a joke. What happened to her this morning is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. She did her shopping for the amount of almost 100 euros as she was leaving the store a security guy stopped her and asked her very rudely to empty her "caddy" shopping cart on rolls and put all it's content on the counter without helping her. With the staff behind the customer service counter, they recalculated the whole grocery list and there was a difference of 4 euros and change. It appeared that she forgot to take out a chocolate item which was on the bottom of the caddy. The rude guard threaten her than next time he will "crunch" her. This is awful. This is an 89 years old woman who survived the Shoah as an orphan, climbed the latter of success on her own at the EEC and enjoys a peaceful retirement in her city. I demand that this guard give full apologies to my mother in public in the middle of the Delhaize or I will have to take some legal procedures for harrassment to an elderly person. Also, she was very good at covering herself with mask and gloves, but was held in an uncleaned, unsanitized and dangerous environment in this hard time with the Coronavirus. read more
