If you are grabbing quick bites, I recommend non-Carrefour brand prepped cold sandwiches if are not looking for just the cheapest thing there. Their hot food, I would pass.

This is a great market to pick up your water, beer, sauces, chocolate. I was staying nearby at the Dominican and picked up water, chips and several different of Belgian beer for my room. Chimay. Duvel, Westmalle, Rochefort Brewery etc. This is a two story market with narrow aisles. Get lost in the aisles and discover some great Belgium finds.

That's it, other than that it's way under the usual delhaize quality and it lacks a lot of products. Frozen products are sometimes nearly unfrozen as the freezers are realy old and don't seem to work the way they should. If you can, walk 500 more meters, there's another Proxy Delhaize a bit further.

I absolutely cannot believe how in expensive prices are here, our sandwiches were only €2.20 and €2.70 and the crackers only just over €1! It's no wonder the place is busy with a line long enough you need to grab a ticket for service. Our sandwiches were fantastic and filling (I'd say it's just slightly smaller than a Subway "Footlong," if you're coming from the States). We didn't branch out much but if you're looking for special meats or cheeses, you're sure to find what you want with the massive selection they have available. I wish we had found this place before our last day in Brussels!

This is a family run business that is best described as an Italian deli, and then some! Every day at lunch their is a queue that goes on forever and you need to pick a number to get served. People oder in their sandwiches days in advance or have a standing order for every day. Yes, it's that kind of place, it's just so good. I tend to avoid the busy lunch period and I visit on my way home from work. They also do Lasagna, tiramisu, pizze, fresh Italian mozzarella, an array of cheeses and charcuterie and also pasta, both fresh and to cook at home. I love this place more than any deli anywhere in the world. Must visit!
