When you get out of there you wanna give 5 stars. Then you think about it and they lose one start for: everything is preparer in advance (pasta to dessert; this is efficient but... come on people), people I know had bad/slow service, price may be too high. On the other hand it's a freaking super real Italian place. The chef probably doesn't speak a word of French. And the olive oil alone could have scored 5 stars (the one you get at the beginning with bread). I can still taste it if I close my eyes. Should have bought some. I'll go back there for sure. I come to Caffè Al Dente quite often for the Spritz. That's right, they are one of the few that knows how to do it :D. Besides I like their selection of Italian Charcuterie, freshly served. Perfect to have during apero hours. I don't often remain hungry after an "assiete" but if so, well, they have fresh pasta prepared right in front of you. The ambiance is cool, good looking people are quite often seen here :). The price isn't as friendly, but hey, you are in uccle :D. read more

We were sitting here outside, as all tables very booked and the restaurant was busy. No menu, but the waiter told us, what was on for food (1 pasta dish with or without ham, ham with olive oil or mozzarella), but she told us no prices. For drinks are a lot of choices of wines, orange juice or water - that´s it! The food was okay - nothing special. Prices are expensive (Pasta was 12.50 EUR for a not so big portion). Service was very good and we got offered a Lemoncello on the house as Digestive - that was very nice and very good. read more

It's an okay italian restaurant, not worth coming from far away, but if you're nearby and want fresh pasta it might be your best bet. All products are very fresh and the open kitchen is a great attraction. Be ready to pay an extra for the posh image. The seating is very uncomfortable. read more

Disappointed about the service - very slow and approximative knowledge shared by the waiters on the wine available at the glass. In a restaurant with such a wine list, I do expect much better! And a wine glass was served when the bottle was at the end, with all the deposit as such which made the tasting quite unpleasant. To not talk about a misunderstanding on a reservation at the "real" restaurant, which they did not make much effort to accommodate. Surely I will not go back nor recommend it to friends who love wine and expect a good service. Too bad because their products are very good quality wise and the wine list is amazing. read more

I am extremely disappointed with this Italian place which boosts an overrated image, overpriced dishes and under experienced and rude service. Taking into account that the place values it's "daily" specials as there is no card, and we are at the height of the mushroom season, high humidity and an excess of porcini, I ordered fettuccine alla boscaiola, asked the waitress if they were fresh and the reply was "sorry, only dried as this is not yet the season", whatever !!!! After waiting for 1.30h, and the dried out cynical comment from the waitress that pasta is being boiled ??? I get my plate of fettuccine and surprise surprise, there are no porcini, only tomato sauce, green peas and a poor sliced Paris mushroom which must have found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time ... I was of course told that I should not complain before even tasting the dish and that if I was unhappy with it, I could of course have another one but would be billed anyhow for this one. Taking into account that the dish cost 17€ for tomato sauce and green peas and not even a swift appearance of a slice of dried porcini nor a dwarf of its unmistakable aroma, I ate my overrated dish which by the way was of the most ordinary taste, I am Italian after all !!! and vouched to forget about the Caffe al Dente. On a more positive note, I will know to avoid Italian places in August as the good ones are closed for the summer !!! read more

Overpriced for such small portions! Quality of the food isn't consistent. I had pasta al ragù and there was no actual meat in my ragù sauce but rather chunks of slimy pieces of fat (but definitely not meat). I was definitely grossed out. I would give them another chance but given the portions/price ratio of all the dishes ordered at my table, I would think twice. read more

Well, the wine was good but what a terrible service experience. We ordered 4 glasses and were asked to pay 6. After mentioning it to the waiter, he decided to remove only one without asking if we were okay with that decision. So rude... After renegotiating, we hopefully paid only the four glasses we had.
