I was referred to Surprise Smiles by the VA, and everyone I interacted with was pleasant, informative, and helpful. I was scheduled quickly and was able to be seen the very next day. I also appreciated being able to complete all of my initial paperwork online at my own pace before the appointment. I arrived about five minutes early and was taken back right on time. The hygienist (I wish I could remember her name) was amazing. She thoroughly explained every step of the appointment, was very friendly and personable, and consistently checked to make sure I was comfortable and not experiencing any pain or discomfort. When the dentist came in, the hygienist provided a very thorough update on everything we had discussed and completed up to that point. After the exam, the dentist clearly explained what to expect moving forward. This was by far the most thorough and pleasant experience I have ever had at a dental office. I recently had a temporary crown placed on 13 May at Surprise Smiles. Before leaving, I was specifically told that if it broke or if I had any issues, I should contact them and they would get me in to repair it. I also had a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 Jun for the permanent crown placement. The following day, I had a root canal completed by the endodontist, and that experience went great. On 19 May, my temporary crown broke. I left an after hours message with Surprise Smiles and received a return call the next day. Instead of helping repair the crown as I had originally been told, I was simply reminded that I already had an appointment on 1 Jun. I explained that I was in a significant amount of pain and was then told to contact the endodontist. You do not need a dental background to know what the answer was going to be, but I still reached out to the endodontist anyway. They told me they do not do crowns and that I needed to contact the dentist who placed it. I have since contacted the VA and cancelled all additional care through Surprise Smiles. What shocked me most was how quickly responsibility was passed off instead of trying to help a patient who was in pain. read more

My family and I have been receiving dental care from Surprise Smiles for about 10 years now. My wife brought my son for his routine cleaning and informed me that there was a man there with no mask in the lobby. The regulations are pretty clear about face coverings anywhere you go especially at a dental clinic. The man with no mask coughed purposely in my wife's direction, mocking her for wearing a mask. My wife informed the receptionist at the front desk what had happened and nonchalantly brushed her off like it was a no big deal. She then made a formal complaint to the Surprise Smiles customer service department and got the same response. I am very disappointed with Surprise Smiles and will be taking my family and business elsewhere. I hope they take these face covering rules seriously in the future and practice what they have posted on their own website. God bless America read more

Surprise Smiles is located in a beautiful and convenient area of Surprise. Their staff made is so simple for me to book an appointment and reminded me of my upcoming appointment via phone and text. The environment is relaxing and peaceful to eliminate the nerves associated with visiting the dentist. I love that they have a discount program for patients who don't have dental insurance. I called to try to get a new patient appointment...the secretary wasn't at all interested in helping me. She laughed at me when I told her that I needed a Friday appointment time. I ended up going somewhere else because she wouldn't schedule me because they were "too booked out" and I preferred to wait for an opening 6 weeks out over cancelling my own patients Monday-Thursday to come when it was convenient for HER. Love the staff here! Dr. Frausto and Dr. Zeiger are always really cool and easy to talk to. Candice, Elena, Cortney have all been great! I haven't been to a dentist in years because of bad experiences. Elena the hygienist did my cleaning and she did great, no pain or issues. I specifically remember HATING going to other dentists offices because its always been painful, but these guys are very good and effectively treat/clean your teeth with no discomfort, which is HUGE! If you are on the fence about your current dentist, or just looking for one, give these guys a shot, I highly recommend them. read more

I've had to have work done that should've been done long ago but I just hated going to the dentist until I found this office. We've been to many dentists in our 70+ years, but none come close to Andy Zeiger at Surprise Smiles. He is extremely knowledgeable and personable, and just a genuine pleasure to get to know. We've heard only good things about his partner, Dr. Frausto, but thus far we haven't had the pleasure of meeting him. Not only do they do general dentistry, but they make a great set of dentures at an unbelievably reasonable price. If that's not enough, the entire staff has always been courteous, kind and professional.
