My husband and I both attended our appointment, and we were completely caught off guard at our second visit when additional details about the treatment were brought up that had never been discussed beforehand. I had a long conversation with both the dentist and the hygienist explaining how important it is for me to understand everything in advance so that I can build trust and feel comfortable moving forward. Despite that conversation, immediately after completing the treatment, we were informed that a second treatment would be required something that was never previously mentioned. The lack of communication and transparency is extremely frustrating. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this office based on our experience.

Most offices don't even practice this anymore because it is NOT SAFE. However this office decided to cheap out my son and go against my wishes as a mother. The team was very patient with my kids during their X-rays and the cleanings. They told them their name and explained to them exactly what they were going to do. My son did very well. My daughter likes to beat to her own drummer! so the ladies being so patient was definitely helpful. The exam room Is so cute! Two little dinosaur chairs for them to lay on and watch movies during the cleaning! The Dentist was also very kind and knowledgeable. I appreciate everyone that works there! They did a horrible job at examining my 2nd child. They did not advise she has any cavities but she does... lastly they were rude when i was trying to get information about pricing. They just gave me a paper with price rather than given me some information. The front girls all had an angry face. Not showing willingness to help at all. You may very well be better going somewhere else.

Originally, we went where our family dentist referred us. I was not comfortable with the way they operate. Looking for a second opinion, a friend suggested West Valley Pediatric Dentist. From the receptionist, to scheduling, to the hygienist, and the dentist himself, everyone was very personable. Everything was explained thoroughly. Options were given as how to proceed. The procedure was broken up into two sessions. My son left both sessions happy and said he liked going to the dentist. Even without the prize machines at the end, I think he would have said that. It has been a few months since the last appointment. No problems with the work that was done.

We had been going to this office since our child's first ever dental visit. We were told our child had 4 cavities and needed multiple teeth out and that it had to be done right away. They would also need to put our child under full anesthesia for these procedures. That didn't sit well with us so we went for a second opinion. The second dentist agreed the teeth needed out, but couldn't find 4 cavities and that we had about a year to do all of this before it became a problem. We came back for all the work to be done, but without anesthesia. They agreed to a twilight sleepy medicine. Our child did well with the twilight but WVPD said they didn't have enough time to complete all the work and that we would need to return and that they would only do it under full anesthesia. This did not sit well with us on pushing full anesthesia, so we went for a third opinion. Again, they could not find the cavities that WVPD found. We even had the records sent over to our new dentist and still could not be found. Our child needed a third tooth pulled that we knew about. This new dentist did a local anesthetic and our child did awesome! After researching it seems WVPD is owned by an anesthesiologist and that is why they push the fully under for kids dental procedures.

Please beware of bringing your children here. This happened last year, but i hadn't left a review…read moreat the time. I had been bringing my kids here for quite some time. The previous dentist, Dr. Dan was always amazing with my kids. Well, it seems he no longer works there so we saw Dr. Tran instead. My kids, who never have had any cavity issues, suddenly had a a few??? Mind you, i brought one of my sons a couple of months before this appt to check on some back tooth discoloration which Dr. Dan confirmed to be just a side effect of an iron vitamin he was taking and assured me he had no cavities. But i trusted her. I brought in my kids for fillings with laughing gas. It did not go well at all. First, we were double booked, so we were kept waiting for quite a while. Then i was given paperwork to sign- i looked through it and saw them pre-charge me a behavioral fee?? My kids have never had any behavior issues at the dentist (up until this appt, anyway) and was totally unreasonable to see that on there. I told the front desk and she took it off. But if i just quickly signed it without reading, like I'm sure many busy mothers do, they would have taken money out of my pocket for a problem that never even happened. Then when it was time for the fillings, the techs and Dr did nothing to inform my kids of what they were doing and why, and honestly were quite rude to them. I was shocked. Isn't this supposed to be a children's practice? Shouldn't that come with care, patience, and some guidance for the small kids who have never had a filling before? It was safe to say at this point that my kids were scared and didn't understand why the laughing gas was making them feel the way they felt. I tried to explain to them and calm them since the staff wasn't doing a single thing about it, but they were placed in separate rooms to have their appt at the same exact time (wasn't supposed to happen this way, but due to the double booking, it did), and going back and forth to be with each one to calm them was impossible. The dentist tried for maybe a minute or two on each one to start the fillings and gave up on both of them and said you need to come again, and if it doesn't go well again next time then you still need to pay for the appts in full. I was shocked at how little care and attention she gave my kids. No kindness, no understanding. I don't think she ever even spoke to them directly. Just rude and seemed like a money grab. We made new appts and then left. But then my intuition was screaming that something is off. I took my kids to a different pediatric dentist and guess what? Only one small cavity for my oldest son. No cavities for my younger one. We went from 5 cavities at the other practice, to one small one. Dr. Tran was dishonest with us and it was so disappointing. They were going to put my kids through totally unnecessary dental work. I could not believe someone would do that to small children. We had the cavity filled at the new practice by the way, and not a single tear or complaint from my son because the staff there were patient, understanding, and actually spoke to him about what they were doing. I will be going there from now on and will never be returning to Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry.

The dentists have been pleasant and we have learned that I need an early appointment since toddlers are fussier at the end of their day. The waiting room does not have much for kids to play with or stay entertained but they were close to my home so we continued to attend. I had an appointment scheduled for 6 months at 7am today. When they called to confirm my appointment, they no longer had a provider available at 7 am and wanted to move the appointment to 8am. I said "okay" because my first meeting of the day was at 9am and they are mere minutes from my home. I arrived at 7:35 knowing I would likely be waiting until 8am. As I sat there the waiting room continued to fill up. Some children were there for things like ortho work or fillings but there were a few families that as I listened were there for checkups, like my son. These families were called in one after another, including the checkups that had walked in at 8am or right after. At 8:20 am I decided to leave as I could no longer wait. It is unacceptable to move our appointment later and then not get my son back in a timely manner but continue to take others back. I was told at 7:45 that I would be back "around 8, as soon as the room got set up." You might not value my time but I do. Extremely disappointed in the experience with your front office.

When we came here we were instantly welcomed with a smile and everyone looked happy to see us, not annoyed like others lol. Name tags, fun lobby with fish tank, coloring table and pac man. Great light coming from windows & it is attached to an ortho office so your child can get both things done at the same place. So smart! There are no individual rooms, there are chairs all next to each other In an open room. Parents can sit in a chair next to their child. Then after the visit the kids get a coin to get a special prize out of the machines. On your first visit you get a tshirt, and if you wear your tshirt to your next visit you get 2 coins for 2 prizes :) Overall, the dentist was friendly, helpful and educational. The dental assistant brought us back and showed the kids the nifty tools they use to clean their teeth and got them excited and comfortable in their seats. The cleaning was quick, painless, and the kids did great. I have a horrible fear of the dentist, so I am glad this isn't going to be haunting my next generation. The dentist inspected their baby teeth and all got a good report with directions to brush, ditch the binky, and come back in 6 months. When we left the kids were given tokens for the prize machines which was so fun and clever. They also got t shirts and a new toothbrush and exciting floss!! The office itself is fairly large with a fantastic waiting area for the kids with a fish tank, camping decor, coloring books and crayons, a movie playing, and books to stay entertained.
