Surfside beach is beautiful Beaches are free Parking is approx $4 per hour I am hoping to rent a house there some time There are a handful of restaurants there The houses are beautiful and the people are friendly

Nice clean public beach! We had a wonderful time with family. Dogs allowed only before 10am and after 5pm but we snuck ours in and kept her in our tent.

The pier is supper nice. Ramp makes walking up to enjoy the view easy for older folks. There is even an elevator if needed. Nice seating. I could sit and enjoy the view and listen to the ocean for hours. Great place to relax and find your peace.

We drove through here and stopped to walk around while we were in the area. Looks like a great place to stay. The beach was beautiful and so clean. The parking wasn't bad and we will definitely be back here on our next trip to South Carolina.

We went here for the first time ever today and loved it. There was an overcast sky, and it was sprinkling rain, but we walked along the beach and let the water wash up around our feet. We were one of only three other groups there, so there was way more than enough space between us and other people. We parked by the entrance to the Surfside Pier. It was $2 for up to two hours or $10 per day. We were there around 11am, and there were plenty of parking spaces available. The pier restaurant was open, and most of the people parking in that particular lot was going to the restaurant. We chose to park here because of the public restrooms and outdoor showers, so we could wash the sand from our feet before getting back in the car. Later in the day, we saw that there are numerous parking lots with public beach access all along the oceanfront from Surfside Beach to Garden City. So we may park somewhere else later in the week to avoid the pier restaurant crowd. The beach was clean and beautiful. We are going back at least a couple more times this week before we head home on Saturday.

This was our evening beach day! We wanted to spend some time near the water at dusk. The drive there was short and parking was free since it was so latex. We only stayed a few hours and played. Watching the sun set was so beautiful!

My boyfriend and I took our 4 girls here. We were right next to the pier and River City Cafe. We had an exceptional time. Beach was great. Not too crowded. Parking was easy, $2/hour, $10/day or $40/week. Public restrooms, outdoor showers, easy access to bar/restaurant at pier, snocones nearby as well. Lemonade being sold up and down the beach. No complaints and we will be back!!!

We only visited for 1 night and spent very little time on the beach, but it was beautiful! The sand reminded me of Destin, FL, soft white sand. This area wasn't crowded and the waves were just big enough to be fun with a boogie board.

My typical go-to beach is Folly - closer to home, quiet (if you go all the way to the end) and clean. I never accept an invitation to Myrtle (too many trashy High School memories) and other negative stigmas... My BF's parents recently got a beach house in Surfside, so I opted to go for a short weekend trip... He assured me that Surfside had more of a retiree population. I was pleasantly surprised and glad I came. I've been dying to see a beach sunrise, so we got up at 6:30 and headed to the beach which was only 2mins down the road from the house (Surfside Dr). There were a few people scattered across the beach awaiting the sunrise as well. The temperature was perfect - nature's colors were perfect #nofilter We went back out around 11:30am and there was more of a crowd (it was a Saturday). There was a lot of open (pay) parking spots alongside ocean ave. The only shower I saw was near the pier. Atlantic water is Atlantic water, so it wasn't any different than my preferred Folly. The sunrise was worth it all!

What a great beach! There isn't a long walk to the water. The sand is fine and light. There is a nice dock to walk out on. Restaurants right on the beach or within walking distance. Public restrooms and a shower to rinse off are at the entry to the beach. There is an ice cream shop, a shaved ice stand and a small stand with free burn care (sunburn or jellyfish stings). There is even someone that passes by right on the beach selling "soft frozen" lemonades for $3! There are some small fish in the water and some nice shells when the tide is right. Overall a great beach...just watch out for those jelly fish!

I did my research ahead of time and knew they were what I was looking for. I wanted a sunrise kayak by experienced people who will not sell me gimmick and promises, just straight up the service I want and preferably a private tour. This last bit, of course, seemed impossible so I would have been willing to settle for non-private until I found their services! Yes, private. As small as 2 people in a tour. For us, it was only my husband and I. Shawn and Toni Rae are fantastic people. I booked ahead of time but was told since I wanted an open ocean kayak, the day could change based on tide conditions which is totally understandable for everyone's safety. Fortunately for us, the whole week was open since we were intending to catch the sunrise and there's nothing to do at 5am anyway. The day of, we drove over to their address, signed waivers, left our things for safe keeping at their house and headed to the beach. After getting our kayaks situated and safety instructions were given, including how to enter and exit the ocean safely, we were off. While we've done kayaking plenty of times on lakes, we've only ever done open ocean kayaking once before this time. Yes, it is more difficult and you do need to follow the instructions so you don't hurt yourself or flip your kayak. Shawn and Toni Rae were very helpful and clear with their instructions. He was also close by to make sure my husband and I got on and passed the waves and paddled safely away from the beach. We waited about 15 minutes before sunrise and he took a bunch of beautiful photos and sent them to us. No additional fees for the photos! After the photos, we headed back to shore and successfully made it back safely. The biggest take away from the experience though was that, it was truly exhilarating. We've both been kayaking on the Pacific ocean before by ourselves but I don't think we would have been brave enough to do it in the dark, before daylight. This experience was truly one of a kind and we had the best time!
