And she also picked up a sweatshirt that she said was giving her "parke" vibes. I was impressed with their Vuori collection and eyed some cute tennis dresses for myself, but we were busy shopping for her. They also had a wall of kulani swimsuits, which isn't my favorite of swimsuit brands, but the teens are all about them. They were pretty busy the day we were there mostly with teens. Everything in this store is required for a day at the beach or street skating. Although they did say that is a customer wants an item that someone had just tried on, they would give it to them - I did fine that a bit odd since you are supposed to let it sit for 24 hours or more (I guess that's where the corporate decision comes in). We were able to fins a few bag big suits and that was good. They have a nice array of surf items and appeal to many ages. They have a whole area of bikinis and if you're not sure of the various terminology a it has it all there for you!

Toward the back, there's a decent-sized section dedicated to skateboards. They also sell local photo prints, which felt unique and added a nice touch. This is a hardcore, family-run surf shop in a world where shops like this are a dying breed, and somehow it absolutely delivers. The owner, Ryan, clearly has a genuine passion for surfing and for the shop itself. I've spent most of my adult life in Hawaii, and in my opinion, Ryan has a real aloha spirit about him. He's super nice, welcoming, and actually knows what he's talking about when it comes to the boards he sells -- no hype, no BS, just real knowledge and care. It's honestly kind of wild to find such a cool, well-run surf shop in an area with such subpar surf, but that's exactly what makes Nomad special. It feels authentic, not commercial, and run by someone who truly loves the sport.
