It is one of the few non food vendors at the market. Owner Ryan Heavyside decided to partner with Delray Market because "Down here it's hard to come by to just, you know, put in a shop somewhere, so when they came to us, we felt blessed that we could do that." Nomad sells clothing for men, women, and children, and accessories like hats, sunglasses, sandals, and towels. You can schedule surf lessons with them for $40 and hour and they also rent surf boards for $25 a half day and $35 for a full day. They also rent skim and boogie boards. On the day I visited they were giving away a custom surfboard in conjunction with the opening of the market. This is the sweetest little surf shop. They are the perfect fit since the beach is just a mile away. Come out and support Florida's brand new largest food hall and this great local business.

The owner, Ryan, clearly has a genuine passion for surfing and for the shop itself. I've spent most of my adult life in Hawaii, and in my opinion, Ryan has a real aloha spirit about him. He's super nice, welcoming, and actually knows what he's talking about when it comes to the boards he sells -- no hype, no BS, just real knowledge and care. It's honestly kind of wild to find such a cool, well-run surf shop in an area with such subpar surf, but that's exactly what makes Nomad special. It feels authentic, not commercial, and run by someone who truly loves the sport.

The boards were great quality-not banged up and old like boards I've rented elsewhere. We had a beautiful day on the water in the inter coastal off Red Reef Park-and when we were done Mike quickly came back to get them. His prices were definitely fair-about the same or less than I've seen at other shops. The free standing surf shop was an old house built in 1896, which was restored 100 years later by the Delray Beach Historical Society in 1996. Very nostalgic and a perfect home for a surf shop. If you ever want a more personalized experience at West Marine. Go to smaller stores like this one. Was looking for bottom paint since I was redoing my boat. Long story short I thought the website said they had some in stock but It turns out I had the wrong store selected... When I found that out I ended up feeling a little devastated since the only stores that had the paint I was looking for were north palm beach and Ft. Lauderdale. The associate at time was super understanding and helpful. He offered to get the paint transferred overnight! And even said he would pick it up himself if needed. I was going fishing offshore with some family and friends so I came here to buy some safety equipment as in personal EPIRB just in case I fall overboard or the boat sinks 20 miles off shore. I chose the ACR Electronics ResQLink+ Buoyant Personal Locator Beacon for $270 and I hope to never use it, but if I do, it will be a cheap insurance policy for my safety.
