We can't recommend SureDry highly enough. Long story short, we had a long-time tenant with a bad leak under his sink, that went several years without being addressed. By the time we knew what was happening, the kitchen floor and cabinets had rotted out, and the tenant had to be careful where he stepped. Unlike a couple of companies we talked to, SureDry was able to do the demolition, remediation of mold and rot, AND rebuild the floors and walls afterwards. Again, unlike other companies, they were willing and able to isolate the area, and do the work while the disabled tenant was in the unit. Emmanuel and his staff were unfailingly polite, professional, thorough, communicative, on-time, willing to accommodate our tenants needs, and went above and beyond to deal with the inevitable bumps that came up in this 3-4 week process. We deal with a lot of contractors, and VERY few are as "hands-off" as SureDry...just show them the problem, discuss the plan, and know that it will get done right the first time. We won't hesitate to call them again if needed.

SureDry covered up flooring edges upon their departure, so that we could walk safely while waiting for the reconstruction process to begin.

SureDry has genuine experts and caring people working quickly to get your home safe and whole again. I had an amazing experience and would recommend this company to my family and close friends. **Timely** Emmanuel and his team responded the next day to our water remediation situation. Our upstairs toilet had clogged and flooded two stories of our home and the underground crawl space. We had 3 rooms, 1 bathroom, the kitchen, and our upstairs/downstairs hallway was damaged. Essentially 1/3 of our home needed to dry out. Emmanuel had excellent communication with me, and the insurance team and was very good about letting us know when he was coming/going. **Professional** Emmanuel and his team were professional and knowledgeable. We made it through this ordeal so well because of the time Emmanuel took to explain the processes to us. He set us up for success by doing a lot of pre-education, explaining the factors that go into the response to water damage, and the assessment process. He then also explained what would be happening prior to removing any damaged material which I appreciated since seeing your home torn up to the subfloor and wall studs was hard on me. As a bonus, Emmanuel has excellent knowledge of not only his role in water damage mitigation but of how what he does connects with the follow-on work. My contractor was very pleased that Emmanuel had sent a sample of our flooring to the itel independent laboratory to assess it's value. The contractor appreciated that report and how educated we were in the process. It made discussing the reconstruction estimate and reconstruction process much faster. I also feel like I was able to stand on my own with the insurance adjustor as we discussed compensation needs for electricity bills, content manipulation, and packing fees. Emmanuel was able to share his knowledge without making me feel dumb or intimidated. I had fun learning about water remediation and was empowered to take the next steps. **Trustworthy** I work from home, have young kids, and curious pets. So having a dry-out team in our home for multiple days is a feat of trust. Emmanuel and his team were professional 100% of the time. They respected me, my kids, and my pets. They were conscientious about where their equipment was stored, safeguarding the remediation areas, and even covered up the floor edges with protective supplies, so our feet/carpet were safe during their work and after. I also appreciated how Emmanuel let me know which days would be noisy so I could work elsewhere during those times. His team took excellent care of our home and our personal possessions. He always asked before moving items out of the way, and we had no dings/damage during their work in our home. **Great with Kids & Pets** Emmanuel and his team allowed my kids to see the process and ask questions. It was a beautiful mix of customer service, technical expertise, and science that my kids observed. Before sharing knowledge with my kids Emmanuel asked permission. This turned something scary for my kids into something fun. My kids bedrooms were impacted by the water damage. I also have a child with sensitivity to mold/dust so I greatly appreciated the air quality mitigation they did during their work. Emmanuel was also good about keeping my pets safe through the process. It can be hard to contain animals but they did a great job with their plastic barriers and advising us of hazards so we could be vigilant. **Great Company - They will Exceed your Expectations at every turn** Emmanuel's team was able to save so many of our floorboards, door frames, and window shelves to be reused if needed during reconstruction. His team even removed the majority of trim nails and carefully labeled the room's items came from. I would recommend Emmanuel to anyone. He will always be my first choice in water remediation. Thank you Emmanuel for taking good care of my family and home. Best wishes to you and the SureDry team! - Julie

A DEMOLISHING COMPANY WITH A HEART!…read more I can't say enough good things about Affordable Environmental, the owner Tony Chase, and his work crew. I've been trying off and on to leave a review and finally figured it out. In Spring 2023, Tony was hired to demolish a condemned 1930's farm house on my property that needed to come down. Everything was done on time, responsibly, and by the book, with asbestos abatement included. All for a very competitive price. And then the big twist happened, which really confirmed Tony's stellar reputation: After being told by the asbestos workers that there may be an old log cabin underneath the farm house, Tony took his time and "skinned" the side off, rather than just demolishing everything. He was able to do so because he is very skilled with a track hoe; it was like watching an artist at work! And sure enough, underneath was a solid log cabin structure that our local historical society estimates to be an old logging cabin from circa 1870's. Intact cabins like this are very hard to find and a historic preservationist is currently conducting research to confirm the age and ownership. But Affordable Environmental, aka Tony Chase, didn't stop there. Tony felt very strongly about keeping this historic find safe during the winter so it wouldn't deteriorate. He volunteered the materials and staff time to construct a roof structure, wrap the building in plastic, and install one of his own large dehumidifiers to keep it dry inside. And it's working! Research on this historic logging cabin can continue and perhaps grants can be found to preserve the structure for the long term. Thank you Tony Chase and the AE crew!

WARNING OF PREDATORY PRACTICES - DO NOT USE SERVPRO…read more *** If you think the water and/or fire damage you've experienced is traumatic, just wait until you've experienced working with ServPro. The predatory practices employed by this company cannot be understated. Not only did they submit an invoice to us for $45,000 for water remediation, but their harassment including repeated threats of putting a lien on our house. But more about that shortly. *** The long and the short of it is: * When you're in distress, you'll "sign" anything -- predators will take advantage of this * When predators think they can do whatever they want and someone will ultimately pay for it, they will do so * They will attempt to bring in more machines and do more demolition than is necessary (under the guise of "preventative measures", that means more $$$ to them - they will rack up as many charges as they think they can get away with * They will charge you for service they did not perform * When they play chicken with the insurance company on invoicing *you*will be the one caught in the middle * They will threaten you with liens, lawsuits and whatever they deem effective instead of working with insurance on a resolution * Instead of feeling taken care of, you will be left taken advantage of with PTSD about the potential for something similar happening in the future Bungled plumbing on an upstairs remodel flooded our downstairs with 2-3 inches of water. After shutting off the main, I called ServPro as their company was the first that came to mind. When they arrived, they had me sign a contract on an iPad, that I never received a copy of (digital or physical), they started moving water and furniture out of the house. They asked for insurance information and were connected to a call center representative from USAA who implied they could do what they needed to do related to abatement. And the concept of "carte blanche" began. Once they helped remove the standing water, the immediately brought in machines to the upstairs and began ripping out flooring, doors, and drywall (walls and ceiling), and told me they'd need to remove tile from the floors and tub surround. With a wink they told me explicitly "we'll get insurance to pay for all of it and you'll get a whole new bathroom". I told them I wasn't interested in removing the tile and we should wait until we determine whether it was truly necessary. Unfortunately for us, our insurance adjuster came to the site a few days after work had begun and immediately bristled with the ServPro team about their approach. This inability to work in a coordinated fashion led to ServPro-versus-USAA dynamic with us in the middle. They brought 30+ machines into our home for over a week (water extraction, HEPA filters, heaters and blowers) which ultimately accounted for $33,000 of the $45,000 bill. Standard practice is to remove machines as they are not needed, which did not happen at our house. THIS IS WHERE THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY. Also be warned that they will offer to take items from your house, "clean and store" them. They took our rugs and stored them for which we (and insurance) were billed $1500. For three rugs. Three rugs. They will hold your belongings until they've been paid in full. Do not let them take your items. That leads us to the threatening phone calls. In mid-June, we received a call from Steve, the owner of ServPro of Redmond who demanded payment in full, complained about the lack of communication with USAA and threatened to put a lien on our home and a halt to our remodel efforts. We immediately obtained legal counsel. It was clear that these threats were intended to get us to put pressure on our insurance company, and it worked. We ended up escalating with USAA, and were able to broker conversations between ServPro and USAA. As an aside, it's incredibly unnerving when someone threatens your home and your credit, particularly when it's out of your control. At the end of the day, ServPro acknowledged that *maybe* they didn't need all of the machines they brought and *maybe* they didn't offer the weekly discounts they should have - ultimately ServPro and USAA agreed on a significantly lower amount, and they have been paid. I don't know whether this is indicative of how all ServPro franchises operate, but this was one of the worst experiences we've ever had with a service company. There are many alternatives out there, I strongly recommend using ANYONE BUT SERVPRO.

Our second engagement with them is just starting, but I was particularly impressed that the owner, Steve, got back to me quickly; did an initial over-the-phone initial quick assessment to confirm no need for same-night service; and made time in his schedule to come out the next day (a Saturday), despite the fact that all remediation services are overbooked due to widespread flooding. Prices for the work seem reasonable, and their quotes are very transparent, listing every line item and damaged-area measurements that they took while on-site. I've been nothing but pleased with SERVEPRO of Redmond's service and professionalism.
