I've taken a few classes here now as well as shopped and usually have a great experience! Everyone I've encountered who works here is kind and helpful. The store itself has a ton of options. It's just pretty expensive, but it is well-curated items that should last you. The first class I did was a macaron class! The instructor was great and answered all my questions. We also took a French cooking class, which wasn't my favorite. The food was delicious but I didn't realize how simple it would be. It may just be that I know more about cooking than I give myself credit for but I found it pretty basic. I'll return for future classes but for trickier things I haven't made at home like pasta, pastries and sushi! read more

Sur La Table has a plethora of useful and attractive kitchen items, in addition to simple utilitarian items. The location can have crowded parking on weekends, but we managed to find parking reasonably. There is plenty of parking. It's near Trader Joe's, though, so I can be busy thereabouts. The staff greeted us and were immediately helpful, walking us to what we sought. It was what we sought at a lower cost, with what we saw as better material. Always good when that happens. I really enjoy going to this store and am so glad they re-opened. I haven't taken any of their classes, but have heard good things about them. They have a variety of products ranging from high end cookware and appliances to the mundane gadgets like pot scrapers and corn picks. For the holidays there are lots of comestible goodies like gourmet hot chocolate mix and various sauces. If I have a specific item in mind, the staff can always quickly locate it. I was really pleased with the layout and houseware offerings at Sur La Table, off of Pacific. We were greeted instantly once we entered the store and an employee came over and asked if we needed any assistance. I saw a live cooking class taking place in the back of the store that also caught my attention. Products are very nice, high quality, and very aesthetic to the eyes. There is flavored chilled water and pastries near the register for those to sample or quench their thirst. I ended up getting a few large soup style bowls that would taper upward for noodle soups that fit my style. Overall, this was a great experience and I will be making a return visit to Sur La Table very soon. read more

I would go again. The environment is what you'd imagine with personalized places for each couple. Although seemingly a bit disorganized or prepared, they started in time. We had the surf and turf meal so ribeye and shrimp with a side of broccolini. I enjoyed the prep and the helpful tips and tricks were nice. read more

Trying to make a reservation for a cooking class here will likely be one of the most frustrating experiences you have with a business. I have never interacted with a business that was so hard to give your money to. If the website somehow works for you, then you are very lucky. If not, you will be calling unhelpful customer service representatives who don't know how to make reservations either. Truly an awful experience. Wonderful store stocked with Higher End Cookware and unique supplies. Pretty much anything you can think of they will have. The quality and prices are also great. Almost all of the time the price in the store is lower than online. It easy to go out of control here So come on a payday!. Sur La Table is a place of many kitchen wonders. I'm a bit of a kid in a candy store here.They have all your cooking needs, and some you probably dont and will buy anyway. It is similar to Williams Sonoma, Crate and Barrel, Pier one, etc. It focuses more on cookware vs. decor, but always has things out for the season like grilling things now that it is spring and summer, and in the winter they have nifty things for fall and winter eats. I would highly recommend this as a stop for a wedding/bridal registry, gift spot for the person in your life that loves to cook, or or a quirky yet fun kitchen and cooking gift. I have "shopped" this store on-line but finally made the in-store trip today for a gift card. I find the quality of kitchen items to be on par with similar high end stores but at reduced prices versus the competition. The store was busy but well staffed with nice and professional employees. Besides the kitchenware that I expected, the store also carries some spices and sauces (a mango chutney that I hadn't seen in a while popped out). They also have dish towels and non cooking/dishes items. I somehow managed to get out of the store with only the card (because I recently bought on line) but I am sure I will be back in the future. read more

We dropped in on Labor Day, as we were in town visiting family, and they really wanted us to go here with them. We've been to a lot of kitchen supply stores, and we don't like most of them. Let me list some positives... ~ Friendly, helpful staff...not snooty or seeming superior (hello Williams-Sonoma) ~ A great selection of everything for the kitchen ~ Very high quality store branded items ~ Spacious, not crowded or claustrophobic ~ Surprisingly good prices ~ Clean bathroom for public use We came away with about 8 items that we just couldn't find back home in Colorado Springs, and we had to figure out how to get them in the luggage. One thing I wish I could have bought was a paella pan, they had three sizes. I'll have to get it from their website. Sur La Table is worth going out of your way for if you live in the Omaha region. On Christmas Eve I called thirty minutes before open , which surprised me that someone answered. They lady was very helpful in finding an item that was in limited stock. They only had the floor model which I was okay with. I inquired over the phone about price matching via Amazon, as it was $40 cheaper. She said they would have to look it up. When I arrived at the store they had already packed their model into its box, as well as checked Amazon and confirmed the price. I just had to go in and tell them my name. BUT A salesperson called Debra was really inpatient and rude even the customer did nothing wrong. Prob because manager was not there all the time. One of my favorite places to shop in Omaha. If you are at all serious/enthusiastic about cooking, there are only so many places you can shop for kitchen goods in town, and while prices on things like small electrics are in line with those at Williams Sonoma down the street, the service here is genuinely friendly. I guess guys don't get waited on in here because I walked around there for a half hour today without even getting asked if I needed help. I was looking for a cake spinner for decorating cakes. I asked one of the clerks who was taking a pressure cooker out of a box what she was unboxing and she just mumbled "a pressure cooker". As I walked around the store, everyone was getting greeted with "are you finding everything" and small chit chat and the more I saw this the more irritated I became. I felt like I was Julia Roberts in the movie Pretty woman. I almost felt like just grabbing anything and everything just to drop 3 or 4 hundred dollars in that place to see if they'd feel guilty. It was my day off and I was dressed in jeans a sweat shirt and boots so maybe since I looked like a slob they thought I was homeless or something. With all of the kitchen places in Omaha, I guess they won't get my business and lesson learned, I'll just not shop there again. Sur La Table gets no stars from me. Given Sur La Table is at One Pacific Place, I would have guessed it to be very pretentious. However, the employees are very friendly and it is not pretentious at all. My wife and I were shopping for a wine decanter and the guy who helped us was very knowledgeable and helpful without being overbearing or making us feel pressured to buy anything. We forgot to ask for a gift receipt with our purchase, and all it took was a quick phone call and one was mailed out to us. I would definitely recommend this place. The selection is great and while some items are a little pricey, most are competitively priced and/or worth the cost difference given the pre and post sales support from the employees. read more

Sur La Table used to be my favorite cooking store until they refused to return a defective product. I received a very nice grill light for Christmas. As the weather was warming and grilling season approached i.e.: last couple days of February I uncovered my grill and took the light out to install it. It doesn't work in a Weber gas grill. Handle is too thick and light falls off with in minutes every time you put it on. First week of March I tried to return it . They won't take it back! Their return last date was 2/29. Seriously a defective product which in the on line catalogue is shown in a picture between 2 Weber grills. It's only $32.00 but why should I have to keep something that doesn't work on my grill. It's not been used, it's not damaged, I have a proof of purchase. The hell to them I won't spend another dime there. I'll spend the money on gas to drive farther to William Sonoma for my business. read more
