Chef Nick was so knowledgeable and funny we did the bread baking class. We made three different types of bread , bread sticks, focaccia and round peasant loaf they were all delicious!! we then learned to make salted butter. It was so fun cant wait for the next class.

If you're on the fence about the cooking or technique classes here, do it. Excellent instructors in a great environment for learning. Gift cards for these classes make great gifts. Enjoy 10% off your purchase after class.

Today, we had a girls day out at Sur La Table. We reserved a baking date with Nick and he was amazing. His instruction led us to the very best bread we have ever made. His attention to detail and easy to follow direction was fantastic. Thank You Sur La Table and Nick.

My boyfriend and I did a cooking class today and it was so much fun! Our instructor was chef Ellie and she was so great and welcoming! Definitely need to come back

    So excited for this class

Took 2 more awesome classes. One was a Gnocchi making class with cast iron skillet steak (led by Chef Maggie) and the other was beef Wellington class with homemade ice cream (led by Chef Blu). Had no idea the work that went into making these 2 items. Making delicious courses from scratch are always the best way to enjoy an awesome tasting meal. Just make sure to eat something ahead of time to hold you over. :-) Watching the Hell's Kitchen TV series for the past 8 or so years they cut out the time it takes to make these. Gnocchi took about 1 hour to prepare and that was with Chef Maggie cooking the potatoes ahead of time. For the beef Wellington it took 2 hours from preparing, cooking, chilling, until eating it. Such a fun experience to learn these 2 difficult labor intensive dishes. Can't wait to take some more classes from Sur La Table they sometimes offer 20% discounts online and that is always a plus.

I think my favorite kitchen related store will always be Williams Sonoma, but because I live very near Fashion Place I end up at Sur La Table fairly often, and each time it inches closer to becoming my favorite as I always find more to like. Honestly, it is quite similar to WS: smaller, perhaps, but they always have excellent food to sample, they carry all my favorite brands (Le Creuset, Staub, Kitchenaid, etc), they also have some excellent candy that is hard to track down elsewhere (Sugarfina, Compartes and Valrhona chocolate), and their seasonal items are really beautiful and creative. They have a great mix of pretty printed aprons, dishtowels, tablecloths, and other linens, gorgeous dishes and mugs, along with tons of great appliances like fancy espresso and coffee makers that you can try out. The employees have always been lovely and kind. The last time I visited a younger girl was very helpful and fun, demonstrating several cool products without being pushy in the least. They offer cooking and baking classes in their gorgey kitchen housed in the back of the store. I have yet to participate in one (though I hope to some day!), but my friends have, and they felt like it was worthwhile and taught by a skilled instructor. You can also drop your knives off to be sharpened here for $5 a piece (I think there may be a discount for multiples), and last time I did so it took little more than an hour. I like to imagine perusing the shelves with someone special who adores preparing food just as much as I do. Perhaps picking up a pretty dish, maybe some exotic spices or a new cookbook and going home to prepare a meal together. I think that would be just about the perfect way to spend an evening. Hey, a girl can dream, right?

Great cooking class. Due to covid out class was a bit smaller, which was perfect. The class was great, did steak crab cakes and with that so it helped a ton.

There isn't a better kitchen and dinnerware store in the whole Salt Lake Valley better than Sur La Table (from the French, "On the Table"). And there probably isn't one as expensive. You get what you pay for, and Sur La Table gives you quality ... and color, and variety. One of the things that surprised me was the volume of Le Creuset. Sur La Table is pretty close to literally having more Le Creuset than the Le Creuset Store. Their LC "deals" are really the same prices you can get on Amazon, but the color variety -- and the fact that you actually touch and feel the product -- gives Sur La Table a distinct advantage. Most people spend their 20s buying cheap knives. After you've sawed through about 200 steaks, you get wise and get the good stuff in your 30s. After you realize that even the good stuff dulls, you, around 40, get wise to the necessity of a Chef's knives. Sur La Table has an epic set of top-rated chef's knives. They slice amazingly well and for a long time, but you'll think, every time you slice a veggie that "Man, I coulda had a iPad for what I paid for this knife." Still, it will be worth it, and Sur La Table is the perfect place to check out the best in Chef's knives. And the coffee makers. DOn't get one until you go here. The Nespresso is the hot new thing, and this is the only place I've seen it actually in the store. Also, there is one of their in-store kitchens, where they hold classes. I'm more of wanting to try out what they cook than cooking class ... so many good ones! There's one every night, I may stumble in one of these evenings. And there is so much variety. Literally everything for a kitchen is here. Bon appétit!

This is a Costco for restaurants. AND large families. (Do we have any large families here in Utah?…read moreLOL) So in a nutshell, this is an industrial warehouse for restaurants. And it makes it ideal for large families who want to add to their food storage and everyday items. My many photos do not do this place justice. I recommend that you pinch and zoom in on the photos to see a sampling of items that they have. Frankly, they have stuff in large sizes that you will not see at Costco or Sam's. You will also see items that you never see in either place or the grocery store. They have everything a restaurant would need. Not just food items of ALL kinds, but kitchen utensils, food warmers, fryers, containers of all kinds (that you've never seen before), pizza boxes, etc. etc. etc. One thing that excites me is that moving from Tucson where Shamrock's products were in every grocery store meant that I could hardly find any Shamrock products here in Utah. In my opinion, they have the best tasting milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, and definitely the best egg nog. Now I can get their milk and egg nog here!!! Really, try their egg nog. The prices seem average. They have a loyalty plan that will get you cheaper prices by a little. Some of their prices will impress, some will be about the same as a grocery store. But there is the quantity thing. I don't think that most non-restaurant people will be doing a huge shopping trip to this warehouse, but you will find some great things to put in your pantry, extra fridge, or freezer. I certainly have made a list. That's exciting that they are here. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

I enjoyed wondering through the store as we went on a Sunday and they weren't busy. I found the staff very helpful and friendly. It's a great place to shop in bulk for meats, produce, can goods, desserts, ready made food items too. They have all kinds of drinks from coffee to boba! Their frozen foods also a large variety. I really appreciated all the cookware and cooking utensils they offer. Plus a good selection of food containers and paper goods. It's a great place to shop for large families, small or startup restaurants or if shopping for your next party. The great things are they are open 7 days a week, no membership required, they do have a sign up for special savings. Their prices are fair and they offer a variety of items a great place to shop!
